History of Alstom
1990: Acquisition of Zamech in Elblag and Dolmel in Wroclaw by ABB
1997: Acquisition of Chorzowska Wytwórnia Konstrukcji Stalowych by Alstom (previously GEC Alsthom), presently the company
operates as ALSTOM Konstal S.A.
2000: Creation of ALSTOM Power Sp. z o.o. company (headquarters in Elbląg)
2001: Merger of ALSTOM Power Generators Sp. z o.o. (Wrocław ) and ALSTOM Power Sp. z o.o. (Elbląg).
Since then the company has been operating as ALSTOM Power Sp. z o.o. in Poland over 20 years, starting rapid technology
development, investments and taking leading position on Polish market.
1995 - 2005: Alstom Power conducted ‘turnkey’ modernisation of units 1-6 at PGE Turów Power
1997 - 2010: Alstom Transport delivered trams for several Polish cities as well as wagons for Warsaw metro
2000 - 2008: Execution of the’ turnkey’ project involving the supply of a machine hall with a 470MW supercritical turboset for Pątnów
II Power Plant
2005 - 2009: Alstom Power executed the ‘turnkey’ package of a machine hall together with a cooling tower for PKE Łagisza Power
Plant
2010: Creation of new branch of ALSTOM Power Sp. z o.o. in Katowice (Alstom Grid)
Corporate Social Responsibility
Alstom Power in Poland carries out many valuable undertakings with respect to actions for the local community. Alstom has initiated
two social actions:
‘It’s safer on the road with Alstom’, which was launched in 2002 in order to increase children’s road safety and subsequently in 2009
was included into the European Road Safety Charter
‘Alstom teaches – save life!, which was launched in 2007 and aims at acquainting children with the basics of cardio-respiratory
resuscitation.
Numerous nominations for the title of Donor of the Year, Patron of Culture, and Philanthropist of the Year confirm that Alstom in Poland
is socially responsible business.

Alstom Power leadership in coal EPC projects on the Polish market (since1990)
Alstom is OEM for 95% of installed fleet.
The biggest and the most efficient generating unit in the history of Polish power industry - unit 858 MW in PGE Belchatow PP – was
successfully executed by Alstom Power

Alstom Transport is represented in Poland by its Alstom Konstal S.A Company in Chorzow. Based on more than 100-year experience,
Alstom Konstal S.A. has the advantage of recognition by the country’s and foreign’s industrialists, together with genuine expertise in
meeting the quality and safety standards expected by the Polish and foreign Clients.

� Alstom Konstal is modernized factory focusing on production METRO TRAINS & NEW GENERATION TRAMS.
� The Company is manufacturing key components, for different Alstom Rolling Stock range products, like: painted car bodyshells,
underframes for all CITADIS trams, cabins, cabin-structure, roofs, sidewalls.
� The components are delivered to other Alstom Transport Sites worldwide.
� Alstom Konstal produced and supplied e.g. Metropolis trains for capital of Poland, high- and low floor trams for Polish cities:
Warsaw, Katowice, Szczecin and Gdańsk. Metropolis for Budapest and Citadis Tram of new generation for Istanbul - belong to
our last realized projects.
� Alstom Konstal will deliver the first in Poland Pendolino trains for Polish PKP Intercity – 2014
� In June 2011 Alstom Konstal launched the production of Metropolis trains for Amsterdam.
