Minutes for January 12 th , 2011
Attendees: Jennie Perez, David Mendoza, Poncy Rodriguez (ex: 8:00), David Groza, Jeanette & Raul Ruvalcaba, Lily Gutierrez,
Theresa & Manuel Navarro, Sophia Navarro, Kathy Perez, and Oscar Gomez. Absent: Jimmy Miranda.
Meeting in order 7:30pm:
President: Retired Pres. Manuel Navarro officially introduced new Pres. Oscar Gomez.
Oscar cannot attend Tuesday’s meetings; VP Dave Mendoza will attend SYSL meetings in
place of and report to Board information. Oscar has more issues in new business subject.
Oscar will contact Poncy regarding payment of $170.00 that was given by Treasurer for field
lights at bowling green.
VP: Dave attended SYSL mtg. all SYSL attended exception of Treasurer. Announcing Coach
Coordinators class schedules (see web). Referee check license; need to be certified, they will
be verified prior to game. Referee ID’s need to be present at all games. NCAA ref. classes may
be an option – can referee any games, need volunteers at a later date. Soccer Expo held in
Monterey, CA this year Jan 29 th , 2011.
Good news! Michelle Steiner biography is in cysanorth.org; she served 35 yrs. soccer service
and is now officially retired. Congratulations to Michelle.
SYSL has opening positions AGM Coach and Coach Coord if interested send info to SYSL.
Bylaws changes must be submitted to SYSL ASAP. CCSL Spring League registration will begin
soon, no price just yet…to be announced. You will have your own games/ own fields – Referee
assigner. Any questions on Metro refer them to CCSL. District Cup was the biggest ever, had
549 teams; 27 red cards this season.
SYSL next meeting will be hosted in Clarksburg, CA. Official papers due by March 1 st , 2011.
Jennie will submit. Warning! Teams need to wear league colors. Any new color changes need
to be approved by SYSL.
FIELD COORD: Poncy received all new field permits. Poncy would like to put together a
budget which includes astro field this will be sent to board for approval. Portable goal field will
also be requested. Poncy will ask Southgate to request to put portables at Pacific Elementary
School. Poncy is requesting games to be played after 12:00pm. Teams will relate to Poncy re:
fields, and equipment. Poncy stated not all equipment was turned in for 2010 season.
COACH COORD: Manuel is requesting there be 2 coaches, and 1 team mom for every team.
Every team must have a representative present at all meetings. Stress we need
parent/coach/team mom emails. Manuel is going to schedule a coach meeting ASAP. He will
be presenting new ‘GOAL FOR FUTURE’ put a plan together for advancement for players with
advanced skills. He would like to see all teams go to District Cup. Future discussions:
Foundation/ADV. Level/Tryouts. This will be discussed at our next meeting along w/coaches.
MN will be discussing issues regarding CYSA Spring League; state utilize to scout ODP player
–tryouts, Metro teams.

REFEREE COORD: Sophia Navarro will set up a Referee meeting; states there will be 10
games for winter league. All referees have to be certified. Check on classes for those that have
interest. If teams have make-up games, she needs times and place 1 week prior. Stress phone
call to right Board Members. Request all Refs have to bring Certified Card to upcoming
meeting.
REGISTRAR: JUNE 4 th , 2011 at EIB @ 9-2pm. Coach list will be sent to Theresa. Asst.
Registrar Kathy Perez will be researching other leagues signup prices. FSC will be raising
registration prices. Announce soon pricing.
UNIFORM COORD: Research new uniforms, Jeanette will turn in all funds at next meeting.
FUNDRAISER: Lilly Rodriguez has joined our team. She will gather new ideas for fundraising.
Lilly is requesting to give early notice.
WEBMASTER: Dave Groza is requesting from Teams to send him all photos of teams and
tournament records. He would like to make a small biography of long time Board Members and
enter on website. Example of Dave Mendoza is posted.
TREASURER: See handout sheet of 2010 Earnings and Expenses. Went over a few
questions, this report contains activities recorded from Maria Palomera, and Jennie Perez.
Maria was officially retired July 31 st , 2010. Jennie Perez was officially appointed August 1 st ,
2010. Any discrepancies can be brought to Board at any given time, and will be discussed
at scheduled Board meetings. Currently FSC bank balance is $5,614.00. This is a temporary
closing end of year statement. Funds are still due to be turned in by Jimmy Miranda –Snack
Bar, and Jeanette Ruvalcaba – Uniform Coord. Note: Carryover amount $4,175.68, Deposits
$77,943.80 / Expenses $76,505.48 leaving balance of $5,614.00 (outstanding bills to Jennie 1/12/11
was given by Manuel and Poncy so will see on next report).
KATHY PEREZ announces Job well done to Treasurer Jennie, and Referee Sophia for getting
those Referees paid on time, and for all other bills, payments, costs, and misc. done in a timely
manner.
NEW BUSINESS: Oscar is also presenting new ‘GOAL FOR FUTURE’ put also the plan
together for advancement for players with advanced skills. He would like to see all teams go to
District Cup. Manuel will present it to Coaches. Many issues to discuss.
Follow-ups:
a) Oscar speaks to Poncy regarding receipt / lights payment.
b) Theresa receive list of coaches – Sophia to create.
c) Kathy research on Leagues pricing of registration.
d) Lilly gather fundraising idea/ Carnival ideas.
e) Oscar checks if Desiree Wing will return, if not, Kathy will take her place as Secretary.
f) Jennie to receive form to fill out and send of updated info to SYSL.
