The aim o digital image processing is to improve the pictorial information for human
interpretation; and processing image data for storage transmission, and representation for
autonomous machine perception. It is the use of computer algorithms to perform image
processing on digital images. It has many advantages over analog image processing. It allows a
much wider range of algorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoid problems such as
the build-up-of noise and signal distortion during processing. It may be modeled in the form of
multidimensional systems.
Image processing mainly include the following steps:

Importing the image via image acquisition tools;
Analysing and manipulating the image;
Output in which result can be altered image or a report which is based on analysing
that image.
Some techniques which are used in digital image processing include:

Image editing
Image restoration
Independent component analysis
Linear filtering
Partial different equations
Pixelation
