Announcements, Reminders & Call for Volunteers
TIE Mailing & E-Mail Signup
If you are not currently receiving the TIE via mail but
would like too, please contact the church office before
August 20, 2018 to sign-up.
For those that have not signed up for the electronic
version of the TIE, you can do that by visiting our
website: www.FBCWINC.org. Once signed up, the TIE
is emailed to you each month and can be viewed on your
computer or mobile device.
Helping Hands
The Helping Hands Ministry needs “more hands” than
it currently has. This ministry sends cards to members of
the church who are ill or are in the hospital. If you have
a little extra time on your hands, call Elma Morrison at
540-662-0666.
Singin’ Seniors
1st Tuesday Luncheon will be held at Perkins on Aug. 7,
2018 at 12:30 PM directly after rehearsal.
On Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 the Singin’ Seniors will
hold their annual Memorial Diner to honor those Singin’
Seniors who have died. It is at 6:00 PM in the CEB.
Chancel Choir & Chancel Bell Choir
There will be no rehearsals until the fall.
Ageless Adventurers
On Monday at 10:00a.m. August 20, 2018 we will depart
for Magnolia’s at the Mill in Purcellville, Va. After a
wonderful lunch, we will take a lovely drive through the
countryside of Loudon County, Va. Please call by Aug.
15, 2018 to reserve your seat on the Lucy Bus.
Music On The Corner Concert Series 2018-2019
Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm will feature the
newly formed trombone and organ
duo twoResonate! with James Martin, trombone, and
Dan Miller, organ, and a special guest.
Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 4:00 Celebrating the
Laster Legacy. Area choirs, organists. and other
musicians join in a tribute to composer and SU
Professor Emeritus James Laster, featuring his own
compositions for choirs and handbells.
Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 6:00 pm will feature our
own Singin' Seniors in their fall musical Songs of
Thanksgiving! Directed by Lori Ann Horne Pendleton,
with accompaniment by strings and piano.
The 2019 dates are listed on the website.
Lemonade on the Lawn
Join us for Lemonade on the Lawn in the CEB at 12:30
PM on August 19th. All are welcome.
Holy Land Trip
A Holy Land Trip is planned for the Spring of 2019. If
interested please talk with John Lewis or email him
at johnlewis702@comcast.net.
High School & College Book Study
We will continue to meet at the Hideaway Café on
Mondays at noon. Our book is A Wrinkle in Time by
Madeleine L’Engle. Contact Pastor Kyle for more
information.
Summer Book Club
Our book club, led by Pastor Kristin, will continue on
Wednesday, August 1, in the Lower Auditorium at 11:30
AM.
Backpack Blessing
All students, teachers, and administrators are encouraged
to join us for a Backpack Blessing on Sunday, August
12, during the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM worship services.
Our church wants to pray for you as you start a new
school year.
Quarles Elementary School Donations
On August 12, we will be collecting pencils, glue sticks,
and crayons for students at Quarles Elementary. Please
bring your items to either worship service that day.
A Midsummer Night Dream, The Sky is the Limit
The will be held on Saturday, August 18, from 7 PM to
10 PM, at the Cloverdale Barn to benefit WATTS.
Featured will be farm to table cuisine by Fresco Kitchen,
live music by Movin’ On, raffles, support opportunities
and family fun. Tickets are on sale now through
