Bali is one of more than 17,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago and province of Indonesia
with the biggest Hindu population, according to the census in January 2014, population in Bali is
4,225,000. 82% of Bali's population adhered to Balinese Hinduism, followed by 13% Moslem,
Christian catholic 4% and Buddhism 1%. Life in Bali is always related to Tri Hita Karana or
a tripartite concept of Balinese Hindu that include the spiritual relationship between human and
God, and their environment.
East to west, the island is approximately 153 km (95 mil), north to south is 112 km (70 mil),

administratively it covers 5,780 km . The province is divided into eight regencies ( kabupaten)
and one city ( kota). These are Denpasar City, Badung Regency, Bangli Regency, Buleleng
Regency, Gianyar Regency, Jembrana Regency, Karangasem Regency, Klungkung Regency and
Tabanan Regency.
The number of foreign tourist in 2017 is 5.697.740 and the top 8 foreign tourist by nationality
during 2017 are 24% China, 19 % Australia, 4,8% India, 4.5% Japan, 4,3% UK, 3,3% US, 3.1%
France, 3.1% Germany
