<strong>Patterns</strong> in Trousers<br />

1 Talk about the patterns on the clowns’ trousers with a partner.<br />

Colour each clown. Use the same colour for the clowns who have matching trousers.<br />

2 Cut out each clown. Play a barrier game with a partner.<br />

• Make sure you and your partner have ten clowns each.<br />

• One person makes a pattern using the clowns.<br />

• Describe your pattern to your partner. (Make sure he or she can’t see!)<br />

• When your partner is finished, take the barrier away. Are the patterns the same?<br />

Weaving <strong>Patterns</strong><br />

1 Cut out the frame carefully.<br />

2 Fold your square in half.<br />

3 Cut along the dotted lines and unfold.<br />

4 Choose two different coloured paper strips.<br />

5 Your teacher will show you how to weave.<br />
