If you’re in your 40s or 50s, the mere mention is bound to evoke nostalgia for summer days spent playing outdoors with friends. If you’re in your 20s or 30s, your parents and grandparents could tell you a tale or two about the magic of these childhood games. But will the children of this generation have the same memories? Most likely not, because many of them spend their time playing video games in a virtual world. This addiction has brought the classic Indian games mentioned above, and many others, to the brink of extinction. Kancha or Marbles This is still a popular game among kids in rural areas. The game is played with round glass marbles and the motive is to collect as many marbles as possible by shooting and striking other marbles with the ones you have. CARE FOR NATURE - No Tissue Day It is very important for each and every one of us to protect the environment and Mother nature. Our modern day life style-urge to get things done in much faster and easier way has its effects on the nature. It is high time now for us to stand and contribute in whatever little way we can to protect the Mother nature. So we as ONE KEYSTONE FAMILY would continue to observe one day at our organisation (JPN & BTM) as “NO TISSUE DAY ( Facial Tissues)”. Which means that on the day, we will volunteer as one family and limit the use of tissue for one entire day (All shifts). When: Third Friday of every month How we could help: By not using facial tissues for a day How will it help: Save trees being cut & water being used for tissue manufacture Here are some fun facts about the tissue paper usage across the globe. 1. Tissue accounts for greater than 15% of deforestation 2. We throw away enough paper to make tissue paper for a lifetime 3. To make one ton of paper towels, 17 trees are cut down and 20,000 gallons of water are consumed 4. Decomposing paper towels produce methane gas. Methane gas is a leading cause of global warming 5. The average person uses 2,400 – 3,000 paper towels at work, in a given year 6. Tissue paper wipes out 27,000 trees a day. Worldwide, the equivalent of almost 270, 000 trees is either flushed or dumped in landfills every day and roughly 10% of that total is attributable to tissue paper, according to the latest issue of World Watch magazine
