About Shree Sansthan
A trust named Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan was set up in 1908 at
Shegaon in the Holy presence of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj with a
motto of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May All Be Happy). Shri Gajanan
Maharaj Sansthan runs 42 different types of philanthropic services in
the area of Spiritual, Educational, Medical and Social with a prime
objective of 'Shiv Bhave Jeev Seva' (Service to Humanity is Service to
God) for the welfare of human beings irrespective of caste, creed,
culture and religion.
Divine Source of Inspiration
Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj, our eternal source of inspiration, made His
divine appearance in the Holy land of Shegaon on 23 rd February 1878
and took Samadhi on 8 th September 1910. He remained unknown as He
appeared on this land in adulthood. He blessed innumerable people in
many ways.

About the Institute
The then Govt. of Maharashtra bestowed upon the Sansthan, the trust to start an Engineering college in
1983 and thus, Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering (SSGMCE), Shegaon came into
existence on 13 th August, 1983 initially in a rented building. The commitment of the Management to the
growth of the college through advices and support of intellectuals, administrators and experts from
various fields transformed it into a sprawling campus of its own in about 82 acres with well laid out
state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern facilities. This saw the college grow by leaps and bounds,
adding feathers to its cap in the form of the addition of many new courses and recognitions and
approvals from various regulatory agencies like AICTE, DTE, SGBAU Amravati and accredited by NBA,
NAAC, etc. What we see today is the pious and sincere effort of all the stakeholders for more than three
decades.

Hostel Facilities
We aim at ensuring all round development of the student by which we discover the innate ability,
encourage and develop creative talent in the congenial atmosphere.
SSGMCE also takes great care of the welfare of its students. It has eight multistoried hostels.
Accommodation includes two-bedded, three-bedded rooms with spacious dining halls to serve
nutritious food. Other facilities include wardrobes, water coolers with RO purifier, prayer hall, community
hall, guest room, warden office, Wi-fi, EPABX facilities and daily news papers with round the clock 24
hours security. The hostels are capable to accommodate near about 85% of the students strength
enrolled in the institution.
Facilities in the Departments
Realizing the changing scenario and its endeavor to provide quality
education, SSGMCE has an excellent academic environment with
state-of-the-art laboratory facilities having the latest equipments,
softwares and hardware. All the laboratories of all the departments
are recognized for Ph. D research. All the departments have modern
classrooms equipped with LCD, Meeting hall, Seminar hall,
Separate staff cabins, PA system, Department Library, Girls'
Common room and adequate amenities. The institute has the
leased lines and campus-wide Wi-Fi network. Each department has
a carpet area of 2675 Sq. meter with adequate circulation area.

Faculty
A team of highly qualified, committed and experienced faculty members constitute the
core strength of our institution. They are M.E. / M. Tech, MBA / PGDM, M. Phil, NET, SET
and Ph.D from IITs, IIMs, NITs and other institutions / universities. The faculty members
have many international and national publications; Curriculum Books' publication
through reputed publishers to their credits and have also successfully completed many
sponsored research projects and supervised doctoral research works. Many of our
faculty members are recognized research supervisors, panel members of review
committees, members on Local E nquiry Committees of the University, program
committee members of National and International Conferences and have filed
provisional patents also. Almost all faculty members have the membership of different
professional bodies like IEEE, ISTE, IE, IETE, CSI, ISME, SCRS, IACSIT, IAENG, ISCEE,
SEM, SCRC, ISCEE, ISRD, IRED, etc. Our faculty members have visited to Canada,
Nepal, Pakistan, China, UK, Japan, Maldives, USA, Singapore, and Germany for
academic purpose. Excellent Teacher Award is given to Faculty members by Shri

Business Administration
and Research
The department offers two years full time post graduate degree course in Management (MBA)
approved by AICTE, New Delhi and thrice accredited by NBA, New Delhi. The course curriculum is
credit based with introduction of dual specialization in as many as eleven functional areas of
management. The departmental activities are embedded with students' and faculty seminars,
project-based learning, community-based learning, business simulation exercises, summer
internship, Parishkriti, Prakalpakriti, B-Plan competition, Case analysis competition, live industrial
projects, dissertation work, guest lectures by industrial and academic experts coupled with
corporate interactions, industrial tours in and outside the State of Maharashtra, national level
management fete, organization of workshops, MDPs, conferences, entrepreneurial activities,
spiritual discourses and a host of students' activities by BARSA–Business Administration and
Research Students' Association. Academic visits abroad, participation in national / international
conferences, publications, case developments and completion of sponsored (by AICTE, New Delhi
& Citibank) projects and doctoral researches under faculty members, community development
activities are the regular features of the department.
Faculty members are Resource Persons for Financial Education Workshops by Security Exchange
Board of India, Mumbai, are nominated for Programme Committee of the International Congress
on E-Government since 2010 along with academicians, executives and CEOs of 17 nations of the
world, and are on the International Advisory Committee of ICMC of BIMTECH, Greater Noida since
2012 and expert member of Research Recognition Committeee of SGB Amravati University
and Board of Studies. Faculty Members of the department are life members of several

entrepreneurs than the job seekers. Accordingly, number of programs relating to
entrepreneurship awareness and entrepreneurship development are conducted for the

Delhi sanctioned an Entrepreneurship Development Cell in the institute with initial grant
of around Rs. 8,81,000/- in 2009. In subsequent years it has received grant to conducts

campaign for Digital India, Start up India and Make
in India. Two teams from SSGMCE were
shortlisted for grand finale which took place at

E-Summit 2017 (16-17 Sept. 2017)
SSGMCE, Shegaon organized its first ever
E-Summit in 2017. Around one thousand students
from different colleges across the country
participated in the E-Summit. The eminent speakers
including Mrs. Rashmi Bansal (Author and
Entrepreneur), Mr. Umesh Kaul (Hybris Leader, SAP
Service Area Leader, IBM India) and many experts
as well as entrepreneurs participated and interacted
with the students. Many competitions were
organised with exciting prizes.
SSGMCE students bagged 03 tropies in
I2I Project Competition organized
at COE, Pune
A team of Swapnil Karwande, Sushank Tidke, Vishakha Netanrao, Ankita Gaikwad and Shivani
Pawar won 1 st prize for the project “Biodynamic Agriculture”, and another team of Prachi
Randhe, Raksha Gangan, Deepali Kharat, Ajinkya Bawaskar and Sahil Annaldewar won 2 nd prize
for the project “Let Us Hurt the Dirt”.

Ignited Innovators of India (I2I) is a
movement organized by the BHAU
institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship
and Leadership [BIEL] at College of
Engineering, Pune. Every year I2I organizes
project competition at College of
Engineering, Pune and calls project
proposals in the areas of 3H (Health,
Humanity, and Hunger), Education,
Agriculture, Environment, Technology and
Others from various Engineering colleges
in Maharashtra.
SSGMCE students won Best Philanthropy Award, First and Second Prizes in Ignited Innovators
of India (I2I) project competition organized by BHAU Institute at College of Engineering, Pune
on 6 th April 2017 & 7 th April 2017.

Con-federation of Indian Industry (CII), MZC
organized the CII Youth Connect “Industry -
Institute Conclave” on Saturday, 4th
February 2017. The objective of the conclave
was to understand the problems being faced
by institute, industry and society at large,
and to explore possible solutions to such
problems. Many industrialists like Mr.

IBSC-2017 is the flagship event of Bombay
Section and it is intended to serve as a
plat-form for networking opportunities, panel
discussion on cur-rent topics, interactive
sessions on Technology, project expo,
internship fair and range of interesting sessions
by well-known personalities. Many well-known
personalities participated in the congress.
Third Year students adjudged Second runners’ up for their Android App
“Notifier” by NES.
Renowned Speaker attendees and dignitaries graced the occasion with their presence and
inestimable talks. Mr. Anthony Lobo, IEEE General Chairperson of Bombay Section
enlightened the knowledge on IEEE Global. Dr. Arnab Das, Research fellow at Acoustic
Research Laboratory, University of Singapore and former Indian Navy Officer, had delivered
the session on Underwater Domain Awareness. Dr. Rajat Acharya, Scientist, ISRO
Ahmedabad,illuminated the knowledge on Satellite Applications. Dr. S. R. S. Iyengar, Faculty
at IIT Ropar, apprise the delegates about Crowd Source Technology.

The core aim of education is to foster all round development of a student. All round
development can be achieved only through education. Education plays a
fundamental role in making a man and his development as a culturally well developed
social animal. To fulfill these objectives,there is a primary need of striking a balance
between syllabus, curriculum, books and also co-curricular activities beyond that.
The college is known for its sports, co-curricular, cultural and spiritual activities. Here
we address co-curricular and spiritual development of student affairs.

The SSGMCE provides adequate infrastructural support for all such
student-activities which would provide them with physical fitness & personality
development and cultivate in them sportsman spirit, team spirit, leadership and
talent. There are in-campus activities like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football,
track field, athletics and indoor games. Wide participation of students is
encouraged.
Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-colleges, open, invitation
and other external tournaments, sports meet cultural and other competitions.
Besides the indoor games facilities, a high tech Gymnasium is already
operational in the Sports Complex to promote physical well being and healthy
recreation of students. Many other facilities are being planned.

Our college has a strong network connecting alumni, inseparable part of our
SSGMCE family, all around the world. We feel proud that our Alumni seek
top positions in their work lives. Over the period of time they crossed so
many roads and have moved very far on the success lane. But still they are
attached to their alma mater with same bond they used to share years back.
These family members of us keep contributing regularly towards college, as
a effort to develop the current students in the form of placements,

for various competitive examination(viz. MH-CET, NEET, JEE main) and
also started akash foundation DLP and test center
▶ Mr. Nitin Wankhede provided placements and sponsored projects. He
also set up data science lab. He keep guiding students by his expert
talks.
▶ Mr. Rajeev Sawarkar, Mr. Abhijeet Deshmukh, Ms. Manisha Chavhan, Mr.
Sandeep Lohiya, Mr. Shantilal Patel, Mr. Alok Gupta and Mr. Umesh
