Canavese is sprinkled with castles: there<br />
are over 20.<br />
Some of them are of medieval origins<br />
and are now reduced to ruins, others<br />
are perfectly maintained and carefully<br />
renovated.<br />
They witness a past made of kings and<br />
noble families that once upon a time surely<br />
attended sumptuous parties in the central<br />
hall of the Castle of San Giorgio.<br />
Right in the 18 th century, the original<br />
structure of the castle, built between the<br />
13 th and 14 th century, was renovated in<br />
occasion of a big celebration organized by<br />
the owning family, the earls of Biandrate.
