The region is prone to frequent droughts + uneven rainfall distribution with 2
distinct seasons - a wet season roughly from November to April, + a dry season
from May to October. Ayear-round destination, most popular for game viewing
is winter (May-September). In summer temperatures reach 30-40°C and often
coincides with the rainy season.
EASTERN AFRICA
Kenya | Rwanda | Tanzania | Uganda
Best travelled during the dry months, as game tends to congregate around the
limited water sources; the long rains are from early April to early June, and
short rains from late November through December. Temperatures are most
comfortable July + Augustspectacular wildlife sightings in the world. Almost 2
million animals roam the plains of East Africa + their movements are governed
by the rains and so predicting their location can be a gamble.
All passengers require a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining
as of date of entry + any onward countries.
Visa requirements vary from country to country. It is the responsibility of the
traveller to ensure that any requirements are met. Check with your Travel Agent
or the Consulate of the country you are visiting.

Explore the very best of South Africa in one tour - the exciting wildlife in the iconic Kruger
National Park, breath-taking scenery in the Drakensberg mountains + along the Garden
Route. Witness the various cultures + history in cities such as Cape Town as you travel
through South Africa, Lesotho + Swaziland. This safari has it all!
DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG Arrival in
Johannesburg + transfer to hotel. Remainder of
day at leisure.
DAY 2: JOHANNESBURG - MPUMALANGA
Head east via Mpumalanga to Graskop, a on the
Drakensberg Escarpment at the start of the
Panorama route + gateway to Kruger NP. (B)
DAYS 3-4: KRUGER NP Drive along the scenic
Panorama Route, the most spectacular stretch
is the Blyde River Canyon. Stop at Bourke's
Luck Potholes for a fabulous view _ then head
into Kruger NP, where we spend 2 nights with
morning + afternoon game drives in 2x4 tour
vehicles. (Bx2)
DAYS 5-6: KINGDOM OF SWAZILAND Cross
the border where we spend 2 nights in the
Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary situated in the
“Valley of Heaven”. Apart from abundant bird
life, there are a number of animal species to be
seen which we hope to spot on a guided walk
in the afternoon. The next day we visit the
Umphakatsi Chief’s homestead. (Bx2 L)
DAYS 7-8: ZULULAND After visiting a craft
market en route, we re-enter South Africa via
Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal. In the afternoon we
make our way to The iSimangaliso Wetland
Park for a boat cruise on the St Lucia estuary.
The following day we explore the HluhluweiMfolozi
Game Reserve, during a game drive in
our tour vehicle. (Bx2)
DAYS 9-10: DRAKENSBERG Moving inland,
we spend two nights in 3000 hectares of private
mountain reserve, adjacent to the Royal Natal
NP – part of another World Heritage Site,
NAMIBIA
namely the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park.
Time will be spent exploring this scenic area on
guided walks. (Bx2 L Dx2)
DAYS 11-12: LESOTHO The Kingdom of
Lesotho is the southernmost landlocked country
in the world. Malealea is situated in a remote
part of Western Lesotho that is breath-taking
in its beauty. We have the chance to experience
traditional Basotho life, a nation with solid
traditions, beliefs and customs. The next day
we take a pony trek, the transport of choice, for
most Basotho. (Bx2 L)
DAY 13: LESOTHO-CRADOCK Drive to this
historical Karoo town founded in 1814 + an
important agricultural centre, best known for
its natural sulphur spring + the original part is
graced with some of the finest buildings. (B)
DAY 14: CRADOCK-ADDO ELEPHANT NP
Famous for the Addo elephants + the remaining
population of the flightless dung beetle.
Afternoon game drive in search of elephant,
black rhino, lion, buffalo + leopard. Evening
spent at the floodlit waterhole. (B)
DAYS 15-16: TSITSIKAMMA Our journey
takes us to a region of startling beauty along
South Africa’s southern coastline, known as
the Garden Route. We spend two nights in
the Storms River Village, at the heart of the
Tsitsikamma Forest. We will take a leisurely
hike along one of the short trails. (Bx2)
DAY 17: OUDTSHOORN After visiting ‘The
Heads’ in Knysna travel over the Outeniqua
Mountains into the Little Karoo to
Oudtshoorn. Visit the famous Cango Caves. (B)

Route 62.

NXAI PAN
DECEMBER-MAY
Adjoins the Makgadikgadi Pans NP on its northern
border. The pan itself is a fossil lake bed about
40sq km in size. Cover in nutritious short grasses
+ small islands of acacia trees, the Pan attracts vast
numbers of desert herbivores such as gemsbok,
springbuck + large herds of giraffe. In the south of
the park are Baines' Baobabs, a cluster of millenniaold
baobab trees named after the famous artists
Thomas Baines who discovered them in 1862.
NTWETWE PAN
JUNE-NOVEMBER
Among the largest salt pans in the world, the pan is
fed by the Boteti River until it was left permanently
dry following the construction of the Mopipi Dam
which provides water for the diamond mines in
Orapa. The waters may have returned to the river,
but Ntwetwe is now famous for its extraordinary
lunar landscape, particularly the rocky outcrops,
dunes, islets + channels found along the western
shore.

reserves of game. Travel to the Sengwe River
for afternoon wildlife activities + sunset. In
the morning we set out early for some leisurely
fishing, guided walks or game viewing,
before returning to Elephant Bay where we will
moor at one of the islands, watch the sunset

we hope to see the lions + hyenas that make

DAYS 6-7: SAVUTI-CHOBE NP Depart Savuti
+ head north through the remote wilderness
of Botswana to the small town of Kasane +our
lodge on the banks of the Chobe River. The
following day we head back into Chobe NP on
a game drive in the early morning before
heading back to the comfort of the lodge during
the heat of the day. In the afternoon we take
a boat cruise on the Chobe River. This is
possibly the most satisfying + relaxing game
viewing activity in Southern Africa. We head
into the park on a small game viewing boat +
spend the next few hours till sunset floating
slowly down stream while watching the
wildlife come down to drink. We get close
to the herds of elephants, + have amazing
sightings of crocodile, hippo, fish eagle +
many more. As the sun sets we head out of
the park with some amazing wildlife + sunset

spend 4 days on game drives watching the
abundant wildlife including elephant, hippo,
buffalo, lion + other game, both in Moremi GR

Seeing the wildebeest migration in East
Africa is one of the most spectacular wildlife
sightings in the world. Almost 2 million
animals roam the plains of East Africa + their
movements are governed by the rains, so
predicting their location be a gamble.
DECEMBER-APRIL the migration spreads
out over the southern plains of the Seregeti.
This area is easily accessible from the
centrally located Seronera.
MAY-AUGUST the migration moves
through the western corridor + into the
Ikoma + Grometi Wildlife Management
Areas. These are outside of the Serengeti but
as there are no fences the wildlife can + do
move around freely.
SEPTEMBER-END NOVEMBER the
migration crosses into the Masai Mara in
Kenya. As this is a small area, the wildlife
tends to be very concentrated.

flight from Kilimanjaro or Arusha. There is also
a new service from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport (JKIA) to Kogatende

or return transfer from our sister camp in Kenya
(see opposite), travelling from Siana Springs
to Migori, being met at the Isabenia border
from where you are driven the short distance to
Tarime airstrip for a brief flight to Kogatende.

in Tanzania, it is less than an hour’s flight

GETTING HERE
Less than five kilometres from the main gate
into the Mara NP, nearby airstrips are at Siana
Springs + Keekorok with daily direct flights
from Nairobi, Loisaba, Lewa Downs, Samburu,
Malindi, Mombasa + Diani. The flight
from Nairobi takes just 35 minutes, whilst
Mombasa takes 2 hrs however, (weatherpermitting),
includes a fantastic view of Mt
Kilimanjaro. If you choose to come by road,
the scenic trip from Nairobi takes you down
to the bottom of the Great Rift Valley, but
includes some rough tracks.
MARA BUSHTOPS Has been called the
best camp in Kenya, it is set amidst a private
ranch bordering the Masai Mara, less than 5km
from the main gate into Mara National Park.
Designed to blend into its surroundings, there are
12 beautifully appointed + spacious luxury tents
(max of 1 extra bed (child or adult) can be added

Please read these Booking Conditions carefully as they form the basis upon which bookings are accepted by Venture Far.
THE BROCHURE
This brochure is valid to 31 March 2019.
This brochure should be used as a guide only.
• Prices are based on currency exchange rates
effective October 2017 + are subject to change
without notice. All products in this brochure are
presented in Australian Dollars + are GST free
unless otherwise indicated.
• “From” Prices: the expression “from” with respect
to a price means the lowest per adult price for
the Travel Product we believe is available at the
time of publication, based on information we have
received from suppliers.
• Please refer to your travel consultant at the time
of booking + at the time of final payment for full
details of any updated pricing or changed transfer,
tour or accommodation details.
• Please read your travel documents when you
receive them to ensure that you are getting what
you asked + paid for. It is important that you
discuss any queries you have with your travel
consultant immediately, or at least before you
travel.
• We know how important it is to have a good
night’s sleep when travelling, so we ask that you
understand that the ‘Bedding Information’ is
provided as a guide only, which may change,
subject to room availability, renovations or other
circumstances. Prices in this brochure are based
on existing bedding. Additional bedding may be
either a bed or a fold up ‘rollaway’ or a convertible
settee. Room requests (eg., interconnecting, twin
versus double bedding, non-smoking rooms etc.)
can be requested, but Not Guaranteed.
• Maps are sometimes included to assist you in
setting your tour itinerary + may be representative
only. Photographs of hotel rooms + vistas etc. are
included to assist you in selecting your hotel +
tours + may be representative only.
• We make every effort to keep the hotel descriptions
+ touring information up to date. Please be aware
that a hotel may not have kept us up to date with
their renovation plans. This is unlikely, but where
it does occur from time to time we will make
every endeavour to ensure that you receive the
equivalent of what you requested.
Please note that if you have a problem with your
hotel, transfer or tour, in the first instance you should
contact the hotel front office manager or local tour
operator. If you are still not satisfied, please contact
your travel consultant for further advice.
BOOKING + PAYING
Your travel consultant is your main point of contact
+ is the person responsible for correctly interpreting
your travel requirements, providing travel advice,
collecting your money for your booked travel, +
providing you with your travel documents. Please
make sure that you are fully aware of what you are
paying for before you pay your deposit +/or final
payment.
• A deposit of $165 per adult ($55 per child) is
payable to your travel consultant within 7 days
of confirmation, to secure a booking. A further
deposit may be required by the hotel, tour
operator, cruise line or other principal. Please note
that a deposited booking holds services but does
not guarantee prices.
• The balance is payable 45 days before your
departure from Australia immediately on
confirmation if booked within this period. If you
pay late the booking may be cancelled + your
deposit forfeited if deadlines are missed. Please
consult your travel consultant for any special
airfare conditions.
• If you request a change of name, tour, hotel or
travel date an amendment fee of $55 per booking
will apply. If travel documents have been issued,
the fee will be $75 per file, plus any applicable
airline ticket reissue fees.
• Amendments within 45 days of departure may result
in operator cancellation fees, inability to confirm +/
or delays in receipt of travel documentation.
• Where possible, we will accept late bookings within
7 days of departure, but please understand that this
will be subject to the availability of accommodation,
tours + flights. Full payment is required at time of
booking if you book within 7 days of departure.
• Credit + Debit Card Surcharges: a fee will apply
for payments made by debit + credit cards. Please
check this fee with us or your travel agent when
booking.
ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR
TO FINAL PAYMENT.
CANCELLATIONS
If you cancel or terminate your travel booking with
us at any time after confirmation, it will attract a $165
per adult ($55 per child) cancellation fee. In addition
to this fee, there may be additional cancellation fees
charged by the hotel, tour operator, cruise line, airline
or other principal. This can amount to up to 100% of
your total booking, particularly when cancelling tours
+ other arrangements within 45 days of departure.
No refund can be guaranteed for cancellations after
the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours,
accommodation, meals or any other services not
utilised. Credit Offers cannot be refunded or taken
as cash.
If we have to cancel or substantially change your travel
booking because of events outside of our control (this
is very rare), we will, where possible, offer you an
alternative of a similar Standard. If you do not accept
the alternative, we will refund in full any monies
already paid for those arrangements.
HEALTH + IMMIGRATION
You are responsible for all visa, passport, immigration,
quarantine, customs, health + other requirements of
the countries visited or transited. Passports must have
at least 6 months’ validity from the date of your return
to Australia. The Australian Government has many
travel advisories in place, for the latest details refer to
www.smartraveller.gov.au.
• If you are not sure of your responsibilities, ask your
travel consultant.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is recommended that you consider purchasing
a travel insurance policy before you travel. Travel
insurance should cover hospital treatment, medical
evacuation, loss of property, cancellation fees etc. +
is essential for anyone travelling outside of Australia.
Overseas medical costs are expensive + not covered by
Australian medical insurance. Your travel consultant
can assist in purchasing appropriate travel insurance
for your destination.

regarding the need for adequate insurance including
some case studies, refer to http://www.smartraveller.
gov.au/insurance/
NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Generally speaking, you are responsible for anything
not specifically included in your holiday package,
which would mean things like:
• Airfares + associated taxes + fuel surcharges
(unless otherwise stated).
• Costs of passports or visas.
• Meals other than those specified in the itinerary.
• Excess baggage charges.
• Personal items such as phone calls, laundry,
drinks, room service etc..
• Sightseeing other than specified in the itinerary,
airport taxes (paid locally) + Government taxes
other than on accommodation.
• Any costs in Australia.
• Travel Insurance.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
We, Clenton Pty Ltd t/as Venture Far (ABN 40 101
240 036), have packaged + presented tours, transfers +
accommodation in this brochure for sale in Australia.
In our opinion, we have provided information +
pricing in this brochure which is correct at the time
of printing, + also goods + services of merchantable
quality. We do not own or operate services in our
own right, acting only as booking agent for our
service providers, + thus we are not responsible for
these services. Bookings are subject to the terms,
conditions + limitation of liabilities imposed by these
service providers.
We do not accept liability whatsoever for injury,
damage, loss, delay, additional expenses caused
directly or indirectly by events which are beyond our
control + jurisdiction, including but not limited to
war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, acts of God, acts
of government or of any other authorities, accident
to or failure of machinery or equipment or industrial
action.
It is important that you are satisfied that your travel
consultant has fully + clearly explained to you what
goods or services you are receiving. To the extent
permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss
or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to
physical + psychological injury, + loss or damage to
property of whatever nature) arising out of or in any
way connected with the offer or supply of goods or
services by us or any third parties.
If you believe that you did not receive what you
requested + paid for, + you are requesting a refund,
you must inform your travel consultant about the
problem in writing as soon as possible after the
problem has occurred. If the law implies a condition
or warranty that cannot be excluded, our liability will
be limited to the re-supply or the payment of the cost
of re-supplying the relevant goods or services.
CONSUMER PROTECTION
Venture Far is ATAS accredited, a member of the
International Air Transport Association (“IATA”) +
the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (“AFTA”).
LAW + JURISDICTION
These Booking Conditions are governed by the laws
of South Australia + any action arising under them,
or in any way connected with the holiday, may be
brought only in a court in South Australia, subject
to any law which is expressly inconsistent with this.
