Hello,
Welcome to my portfolio. Showcased here is a selection of my work spanning the fields of product
design, furniture design and interior design.
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from M.A. College of Engineering, Ernakulam, India and
a Postgraduate degree in Product Design from the University of Salford, Manchester, UK.
The work displayed here has been developed for different projects, based on customer
requirement, feasibility and cost effectiveness.
Dining tables
These are two options for a set of dining table
and matching chairs. The table top is Walnut
veneer finish with a patterned groove detail in
one option. Random patches have been
coloured to create an interesting pattern to
break up the plain finish of the table.
The legs have been finished with 75mm x
75mm MS square section with matte black
powder coating. For a cost-effective option,
solid wood with PU paint finish can also be
used.

Executive table
This table was designed for
the MD of a company that
deals with scaffolding for
construction sites. The idea
from the beginning was to
incorporate his products
within his furniture so as to
display them to visiting
guests. The wood used is
Pine wood finished with
sufficiently strong coating of
Poly-Urethane top coat.
The contrast is achieved by a
coat of dark grey paint finish
with a matte finish.

Outdoor community seating – Option 1
This was an entry for a design competition for community seating for the Dubai Design District.
The requirement was to use solid wood which will see continuous exposure to Arabian Gulf
summers. The other requirement was to provide real grass to sit on which would need watering
to be included within the unit. The shade is provided using “fingers” made of solid wood and mesh
netting.

Outdoor community seating – Option 2
This version has solar panels and charging points incorporated within the seating unit to charge
mobiles and laptops.

Exhibition stand
This stand was designed for our company. I was responsible for the concept development, initial
renders, production drawings, execution and installation on site.

Duscaff MD’s room
The wall seen here is clad with back-painted glass with Anthracite grey. The wall cladding hides a
bathroom entrance within it. The glass also has holes cut into it to provide for the wall mounted
TV and the socket points.

Custom made workstations
This is a custom-made workstation set for a scaffolding company. The client’s requirement was to
use the components supplied by his company to be used and displayed in this space.

Custom made workstations
This is a custom-made solid wood work table. The top is made by joining planks together to achieve
the depth required, after which a recess is carved out to seat the monitor, keyboard and the mouse.

RTA Day Activity area
This is the concept layout made and proposed for RTA Day events. The event was conducted on an
ice rink, and therefore the shape. All the elements had to be made at low cost as this was an event
for a single day.

Duscaff Office
As per client request we have used materials from their product stock. The reception table, the
shelf next to it, the wall cladding, the step treads all have been made using the wood they use in
their scaffolding units. The staircase railing is also made using the pipes and connectors used in their
industry.

Geepas Tower
Concept images for the reception area.
Floor panelling, wall panelling, wall features and furniture were all part of the scope.

Milestones Nursery concept
Concept images for Milestones Nursery. The proposed layout was designed for an open school
layout. There are designated areas for each activity.

Solar Powered Electric Scooter
The scooter was designed as part of concept exploration for a more economical, safe and
comfortable mode of transport, that had the smallest carbon footprint as possible.

LED mood lights from Coconut shells
This range of LED lights were developed to add to an existing range of lights made by an NGO. Up
until then, they were in the process of making coconut shell tea light candles. With this development
we gave them a value-added product from the skill set they already possessed.

Bamboo cased portable solar charger
This design was developed to combine an eco-friendly casing with small solar panels with an in-built
battery that can be used to charge a mobile phone, tablet or even a laptop.

Portable Barbeque stand
This concept is designed keeping in mind portability and storage of BBQs when not in use and
during transport. The legs and stand can be folded and kept inside.

De-solenator
This concept product was designed and developed keeping in mind the ever-present problem of
obtaining potable water. This device converts sea water into drinking water by the process of
distillation. I was responsible for design, prototyping, styling, usability, campaigning on crowd-funding
websites among other duties.

Thesis Project
The bicycle was designed as part of my Master’s thesis project. The concept was for a folding bike
made out of sections of SS tubes. A casing was designed to go along with it to store the bikes at
common points like a train or a bus station. A version was designed to be used as a share bike with
access given using cards that were currently being used with public transport systems.
