For those that have not signed up for the electronic
version of the TIE, you can do that by visiting our
website: www.FBCWINC.org. Once signed up, the TIE
is emailed to you each month and can be viewed on your
computer or mobile device.
Helping Hands
The Helping Hands Ministry needs “more hands” than
it currently has. This ministry sends cards to members of
the church who are ill or are in the hospital. If you have
a little extra time on your hands, call Elma Morrison at
540-662-0666.
Singin’ Seniors
The Singin’ Seniors will have their 1 st Tuesday luncheon
after rehearsal on Sept. 4, 2018 at Donato’s Touch of
Italy.
The Singin’ Seniors will be singing a Concert at The
Hilltop House on Monday, Sept. 17 at 3:00p.m. One of
our Homebound members, Mary Webber, lives there.
Please come join us in greeting these residents if you
can!
Chancel Choir & Chancel Bell Choir
Chancel Choir Rehearsals will begin on Thursday,
September 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Chancel Handbell Rehearsals will begin on Thursday,
September 27, 2018 at 6:00p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Ageless Adventurers
The Ageless Adventurers will depart at 8:30 on Monday,
Sept. 24, 2018 for the Fort Valley Nursery Garden
Center and Café for coffee and a stroll to see their
beautiful Fall Mums. Then we will have lunch at
Castiglia’s Italian Restaurant in Woodstock, Va. Wear
comfortable shoes and make sure to sign up for a seat
on the Lucy Bus by Sept. 20 th !.
The Ageless Adventurers will depart Monday, Oct. 1,
2018 at 8:30a.m. for the Green Valley Book Fair in
Rockingham County, Va. After bargain hunting there,
we will have lunch at one of the best rated restaurants in
Harrisonburg, Va., Jimmy Madison’s! Wear comfortable
walking shoes. There are places to sit and rest there as
well. Please call the church office by Monday Sept. 24 th
to reserve a seat on the Lucy Bus at 662-5367.

Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 4:00 PM Celebrating the
Laster Legacy. Area choirs, organists. and other
musicians join in a tribute to composer and SU
Professor Emeritus James Laster, featuring his own
compositions for choirs and handbells.
Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 6:00 PM will feature our
own Singin' Seniors in their fall musical Songs of
Thanksgiving! Directed by Lori Ann Horne Pendleton,
with accompaniment by strings and piano.
Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 4:00 PM. An Afternoon
of Duets a concert of vocal duets by Lori Horne
Pendleton and Eileen Gilliland, with keyboard duets by
Leslie Hughes Robertson, piano, and Dan Miller, organ.
Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 4:00 PM. Shenandoah
University Choirs in Concert. Featuring the
Shenandoah Conservatory Choir, Shenandoah Chorus,
and Cantus Singers.
Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 PM. The Blue Ridge
Singers present their spring concert, directed by Dr.
Jeffrey Alban and accompanied by Dan Miller.
Holy Land Trip
Holy Land Trip: On February 25, we held the first
organization meeting of the group planning the Holy
Land Trip / Pilgrimage. By popular demand, the dates
of the trip are being shifted to late March-early April,
2019 . The itinerary remains a 10-11 day long,
professionally led trip. If you are interested and were
not able to attend the organizational meeting, please talk
