Below is a list of the ACTIVE members of our club as at 30 th April
2018

The numbers are similar to last season but it is pleasing to see an
increase in our over 18 Active members which is excellent for fulfilling
our patrol commitments. Our Junior members increased by
30 so membership is certainly looking promising for the future.
Remember that it is easier for all concerned if you go online and
use “The Members Area” (Portal System) to pay for your membership,
fill out your renewal for next season and update your details
such as address and expired licences by the 30th September please.
Congratulations to all members who gained awards this season and
a big thank you to Sue Eke and her team of Assessors and Trainers
who facilitated these awards.

MEMBER PROTECTION & INFORMATION OFFICER
Just a reminder of our legal obligations with regard to Child Protection.
Every Over 18 Active member, which includes Associates,
must have
• signed The Member Protection Declaration Form which
requires proof of identity by an official of our Club. This
form cannot be done on line.
• a Working With Children Check Number which has been
verified and recorded on Surfguard by the MPIO. Positions
requiring this number are: JAC Chairman, Age Managers,
Assistant Age Managers, Water Safety for Nippers, Youth
Co-ordinator and Coach of under 18yrs. If you have been
appointed to one of these positions and have yet to obtain
a check, please do so in the off season.
FIRST AID OFFICER
Congratulations on another awesome season. We have had multiple
events which our members have had to help provide assistance
for first aid at, whether it be the triathlons, our Cudgen carnivals or
the mammoth effort that went into the IRB titles. I
would particularly like to thank everyone who has helped out at
carnivals throughout the year, without your help we are unable to
run these events as smoothly as we do. I would also like to thank
everyone who has helped at Fingal whether it be on patrols or in
response to incidents that have occurred, everyone has done an
amazing job.
Once again we have continued to upgrade our equipment, ensuring
that we continue to be able to provide best care to members of the
public who are requiring our assistance, throughout this season and
seasons to come. Hope everyone is having a relaxing off season and
I look forward to working with everyone again next season.

RADIO - COMMS OFFICER
This is my first year in this role and I realise I have a lot more to
learn about radios than I expected. The radios have been well used
this summer with the life guards operating during the week,extra to
the school holiday periods.
I have provided some education on radios via the club newsletter
on operations and maintenance, a process I hope to continue.
A radio has been placed in the bar, so bar staff can communicate
with the beach in times of emergency, when call comes in over the
phone or off the street.
Three antennas were replaced on the Icom radios.
There will be a reprogramming of the radios and repeaters in the
coming months.
I hope to be able to put in place a better system of recording when
and where radios are being used.Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated .
