Season 2018-2019 at

When you return to the 

Lehman Center for our 38th 

Spectacular season you will be 

seated in brand new seats in a 

renewed facility, along with new 

carpets in the lobby. The new 

addition, main entrance and 

lobby will continue to be under 

construction as the entire renovation and addition will 

not be completed until late spring 2019. The addition will 

include a new main entrance and lobby and ticket sales area, 

administrative offices and restroom facilities on the first 

and mezzanine floors, and an elevator. 

The project will modify the existing lobby and interior to 

comply with Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards. 

The Center—sometimes referred to as “the Lincoln Center 

of the Bronx”—seats 2,278 people in the concert hall and is 

the largest of its kind in the borough. Funding for the project 

was provided by the Office of the Governor, New York State 

Legislature, Bronx delegation of the New York City Council, 

and the Office of the Bronx Borough President. In addition, 

we are very grateful to our new President Dr. José Luis Cruz; 

Vincent Clark, Vice President for Administration and Finance 

and Rene Rotolo, Assist. Vice President for Campus Planning 

& Facilities - without their hard work these new great 

improvements would not be possible. Performances and 

events will continue throughout the project and work will be 

scheduled when the space is not in use.

This season, in addition to our Outstanding Latino Series 

sponsored by Goya Foods and featuring great artists such 

as Gilberto Santa Rosa, José Feliciano, Eddie Palmieri, Olga 

Tañon, Lalo Rodriguez and numerous others, we will be 

bringing back Ballet Folklórico de México to celebrate our 

shared cultural history and four-time Grammy Winners 

Soweto Gospel choir from South Africa. 

We will also continue to present international attractions 

from around the globe with special $10 tickets for children 

12 and under. We hope you will support Lehman Center’s 

efforts by buying tickets, making a contribution, sponsoring 

an event, or renting our facility for your organization,

Eddie Palmieri and Lalo Rodriguez reunite at Lehman 

Center after forty years! Their first collaboration 

began when at the age of 16, Lalo Rodrigez made his 

debut as a professional singer, recording the album 

with Eddie Palmieri entitled “The Sun of Latin Music”. 

This album was the first to win American Grammy 

Award. In 1975, he recorded the second album titled 

“Unfinished Masterpiece”, which won the second 

Grammy– making a milestone in the history of salsa.

Currents is a spectacular show that was inspired by the 

historical Battle of Currents between Thomas Edison 

and Nikola Tesla in their quest for finding energy 

sources for the world. 


MURPHY’S Celtic Legacy 


Created by Chris Hannon, former principal dancer for 

Lord of the Dance, Murphy’s Celtic Legacy features 

original choreography combining traditional Irish 

and Modern dance techniques presented with 

multimedia elements, song and live music.
