THE BALANCING ACT OF A CHRISTIAN
One of the most difficult balancing acts any
Christian has to endure is how to balance their
faith with politics. There always seems to be 2
opposing arguments.

intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for
kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a
peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our
Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to
the knowledge of the truth.” I Timothy 2:1-5
The traditional belief is that since this world is not
our home and we are called out from the world
we should not partake of the things of this world.
There are many strands that end someone up at
this view but one of the most dominant strands is
the view that since Satan became the prince of
this world from mans’s original sin in the garden
of Eden, then many of the kingdoms of the world
are under his control and will remain so until the
Second Coming of Christ.
“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high
mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world,
and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these
things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship
me.” Matthew 4:8-11
“And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their
armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat
on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was
taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles
before him, with which he deceived them that had received
the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.
These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with
brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of
him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of
his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”
Revelation 19:19-21
The opposing view is that the Bible admonishes
us to pray for our leaders and to those who are in
control of governments and nations. The Bible
admonishes us to obey the rules of the land but
more importantly, adherents of this view believe
that it is the duty of Christians to occupy

“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it
under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those
who come in can see the light.” Luke 8:16
Many have asked whether the editorial team at
Global Watch Weekly are republicans because
we are overtly seen to be favouring Donald
Trump from the time he came into office whereas
previously we were very critical of Barak Obama.
I also remember questions being asked
previously when Mitt Romney was running for
office of leader of the Republican Party where
some where asking how could Conservative
Christian republicans support a Mormon in office
when Mormonism is defined as a heretical cult by
mainstream Christianity.
These are some of the challenges that our faith
encounters in trying to make sense of what is
right and wrong as far as political allegiance is
concerned.
As far as our editorial team are concerned we
have no loyalty to any political party, only a
loyalty to those policies which we believe are
closest to a representation of some of the most
important and key fundamental biblical truths.
You see members, it doesn't surprise us that if
you are a liberal leader who doesn't necessarily
subscribe to the belief that Christianity is the one
truth path to God. If you are someone who
believes that the LGBT community deserve their
voice, someone who is willing to sanction gay
marriages, someone who doesn't not have a very
strong stance against abortion, someone who
believes Israel are the main reason for problems
in the middle east. Then off course you are going
to be popular with the masses. Off course people
are going to shower you with respect and see
you as someone for the people. Someone who is
credible and someone who can be trusted.
