WELCOME
DEAR FRIENDS
It is with great joy that we share with you the burden and call that the Lord
has given us to plant a new church in Christiansburg.
In December of 2017, we began meeting regularly to pray about beginning
a new gospel work in the New River Valley. We had a deep burden over
the lostness and brokenness in our community and a desire to reach
people with the gospel.
After many weeks of meeting and praying, God began to birth in us the
vision for Hope Valley Church: to reach our valley with the hope that is only
found in Jesus. We have a simple mission: to see our valley changed by the
gospel, trained in the gospel, and sent out with the gospel. We want to be
a church that aggressively pursues the mission that Jesus gave us- to make
disciples locally and globally.

Two major universities — Radford
University and Virginia Tech —
have affected a population spike in
the last 15-20 years.
Christiansburg has especially seen
growth in the number of families
that call it home. Professors and
students come to the NRV from all
across the world.

Why the NRV?
Some may think southwest Virginia is fully saturated with the
gospel. That’s just not the case. Recent census information reveals that
nearly 65% of people in Montgomery County and the
surrounding areas consider themselves to be non-religious.
Existing churches cannot
keep up with the lostness,
brokenness, and turn over
in the area. We are
convinced this is a very
strategic location for a
gospel-driven church.

Glorifies God Supremely
We were created by God and for
God, and want everything we do
to bring honor and glory to Him.
Proclaims Jesus boldly
Jesus is the hope of the world
and so we lift up and proclaim
His name above all others. We
are not ashamed of the gospel
of Christ and we carry his name
boldly.
Focuses Missionally
Jesus has given us a clear mission,
and this mission serves as
our filter for everything that we
do. This means sometimes we
say “no” to “church” programs so
we can focus on the mission.
Gathers Intentionally
God designed us for community.
We gather together in large
group worship and small group
Hope Communities, and we do
so with a purpose to cultivate a
growing relationship with Jesus.

Teaches Biblically
The Bible is the authoritative
word of God and it is the
foundation we stand on. We
teach His Word without apology
and without compromise.
Multiplies Locally and Globally
We are called to be a church
that gathers and scatters. As a
scattering church, we desire to
make disciples and start new
gospel-centered churches in our
valley and throughout the world.

Hope Communities
Our Hope Communities are at the core of everything we do as a
church. These communities meet in homes once a week and are
structured around a three dimensional focus: UP, IN, OUT.

UP
Worship – We desire to live in such a way that
brings honor and glory to God. As we gather
together, we spend time in the Word of God seeking
to be continually transformed by Him.
We help one another grow in knowledge of,
obedience to, and intimacy with Jesus.
IN
Community – Genuine Christian community is
marked by love, encouragement, accountability and
care for one another.
This is intentional community with the goal to help
one another become better disciples of Jesus.
OUT
Mission – The central purpose of the church in the
world is the Mission of God. Our Hope Communities
are the primary way we fulfill this mission and each
group has a specific mission target.
These communities are driven by a passion for God
and compassion for the lost.

PRAY
GIVE
JOIN
More than anything, we need the presence, power, and blessing
of God in everything we hope to do. Apart from Him we can do
nothing. We need partners praying with us and for us as we
embark on this mission. Will you commit to pray for us on a daily
basis?
Pray for wisdom and direction for our pastors as they lead.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts to hear and respond to the
gospel.
Pray that God would protect us from the enemy who wants to disrupt
and distract us from the mission.
It could be that God is leading you or your church to help us in
our mission financially.
Every dollar you invest in Hope Valley will be used towards
reaching our valley and our world with the gospel
of Jesus Christ. Please pray about joining our financial support
team. We commit to being good stewards of His resources and
have established a budget with a minimum of 30% for Outreach
and Missions.

Christiansburg, GraceLife began ministering at their present location at
1640 Peppers Ferry Road in April of 2011.
