BRAMSHOTT, LIPHOOK & DISTRICT<br />

Despite the difficult weather, Bramshott, <strong>Liphook</strong> & District<br />

Horticultural Society held their Summer Show last Saturday in<br />

the Church Centre, <strong>Liphook</strong>. Show Secretaries Anne and Sally<br />

were absolutely delighted with the number and quality of entries<br />

in every class. The hall was filled with excellent vegetables and a<br />

variety of roses, sweet peas, cut flowers and fuchsias.<br />

The success story of the day went to Lesley Hollands, the Society’s<br />

chairman, for being the most successful exhibitor winning the<br />

Banksian Medal along with the Arthur Liddiard Cup for her soft<br />

fruit, the Society’s Certificate for best vegetable in the Show, and<br />

the Hallahan Best Exhibit Cup for the overall best exhibit.<br />

The Llewellyn Evans Cup was won by Carole West for being the<br />

best exhibitor in the rose classes. Betty Holt was delighted to<br />

win the Bowlby Cookery Bowl for her cookery exhibits including<br />

homemade lemonade, broad bean dip and blueberry loaf. The<br />

John Caesar Cup for the best exhibit in the mixed cut flower class<br />

was won by Heather Bicknell. Other successful cup winners<br />

were John Gilbert, Margaret Ilsley and Frances Town-Jones who<br />

won the Fuchsia Cup for the seventh time. Sisters Alice and<br />

Olivia Stilwell were surprised and delighted to win the Hugh<br />

Coyte Trophy and the Muriel Caesar Cup.<br />

During the afternoon, the many visitors enjoyed excellent<br />

refreshments baked by Lesley Hollands.<br />

The next Show is on Saturday 1st September in the Church<br />

Centre, <strong>Liphook</strong>. For further information about the Society,<br />
