Quotes from Parents on the Impact
of The Children’s Center
“It went way above and beyond my
expectations. The fact that everyone was there
just for me and my child was heartwarming.
I felt as though everything was going to be ok.”
“It was just a comfortable feeling during such a
time of heartache.”
“After I left The Center, I had a sense of relief
that everything was going to be ok. I contacted
the case manager on a few occasions and she
was always responsive to my needs. She also
checked in with us on a regular basis to make
sure we were doing ok and aware of what was
going on.”
“Just ‘Thank You’ for being there for us.”
“My daughter walked away feeling
safe and proud of herself.”
-A Parent
A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Recently, The Children's Center of Medina County has experienced an
increased number of children needing our services. During 2017, we
saw an increase in children experiencing sexual abuse in Medina
County. The Center also saw an increase in children requiring visitation
space during their time in Foster Care.
We cannot continue to help children heal from abuse without the
support of our community. Each person in Medina County is an
integral part of the village needed to keep our children safe and to
provide the funding and support required to help children heal and
have an opportunity to just be children.
No child should ever have to experience abuse, but this is not the
reality. Each year in Medina County over 500 children experience
neglect, sexual abuse or physical abuse. As you read through our
Annual Report you will learn the startling numbers of the reality of
abuse in Medina County and how it impacts our children. You will also
learn about the steps The Children's Center of Medina County is taking
to help children who experience abuse, prevent abuse, and provide
the Medina County community with the awareness necessary to help
families and children before abuse occurs.
We are extremely grateful for each of you.
Please know that without you children in
Medina County will not receive the services and
support they need to heal from abuse.
Thank You,
RHONDA WURGLER
Executive Director
