THE GLENCOE ANCHOR Developers propose $2.3M Old Green Bay Linear Parks project The Glencoe Park District is in the initial stages of considering changes to Old Green Bay Linear Parks. At the Special Projects and Facilities Committee’s Tuesday, Sept. 11 meeting, Altamanu, a landscape architect firm, discussed its proposal for a recreational multi-use trail through the parks along Old Green Bay Road from Park Avenue to Maple Hill Road, which encompasses 0.53 miles and 2,800 feet. The costs associated with the trail include a drinking fountain on the north end, 10-foot wide decomposed granite and stop sign changes and bike paintings at the intersections for $845,000. “There are only pathways (currently) along some of the roads and there are no park pathways,” Altamanu principal John Mac Manus said. The project also includes the replacement of the playground at Lincoln and Crescent. Mac Manus said the playground at Lincoln and Crescent has to be replaced because it was constructed 26 years ago and most playgrounds last 10-15 years. Reporting by Todd Marver, Freelance Reporter.
