TOYOTA CITY
Situated in the Aichi Prefecture, Toyota City is
located approximately halfway between Tokyo
and Osaka. The city was previously known
as Koromo until 1959, when the name was
changed to Toyota City to reflect Toyota Motor
Corporation. In addition, Toyota is very well
recognised in rugby for the accomplishments of
the club team, the Toyota Verblitz. The winner
of many national championships and one of the
most popular teams in the Japanese domestic
Top League, the club enjoys a strong home fan
base eager to see the best of world-class rugby
during Rugby World Cup 2019.

Yokohama City is Japan’s second largest city.
Located in the Kanagawa Prefecture just
south of Tokyo, the city boasts a sophisticated
transportation infrastructure that seamlessly
links the two for commuters and tourists alike.
In 1923, much of Yokohama was destroyed by
the Great Kantō earthquake. Today, the city has
been completely rebuilt and has played host to
some of the biggest sporting events in the world,
including the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Yokohama
will also be the host for both semi-final matches
as well as the final match during Rugby World
Cup 2019.
