Company History
Zakwani United launched in 2007 with a focus on civil works and residential
construction. Started by Saud Al-Zakwani, a long-time player in the construction
industry, the company is now managed by his son, Zuhair, and maintains its
family orientated values. Beginning with the idea of ‘building homes with value,’
it continues to focus on the home experience when constructing residential
spaces.
By 2010 the company had positioned itself as a residential and commercial
contractor, also providing landscaping and MEP works.
By aiming for bigger, more technical projects each year, Zakwani United
has managed to maintain an annual level of growth, getting the company to
where it is today. Moving from small, residential homes to larger twin-villas, to
apartment buildings and residential complexes, Zakwani United now sits in a
position where it can offer a full range of services to clients.

Zakwani United started in 2007 as a small,
family-owned business and has been growing
steadily since. Chairman Saud Al Zakwani, with
a wide range of previous experience from the
construction and landscaping industries, started
the company with the concept of bringing reliable
and quality housing solutions to clients.
In the decade of projects since then, Zakwani
United has developed into a company that
provides general contracting, landscaping, MEP,
maintenance, and specialized contracting services
to clients. The company is driven by a team of
educated, dedicated and skilled employees,
striving to become a leading general contractor
in the Sultanate.
Our team of employees
specialize in different fields and

Zakwani United is adaptable and
caters services to meet varying

clients and their subcontractors,

Recently, Zakwani United
implemented more modern
and effective ways of slab
pouring, MEP scheduling and
maintenance management.
Our newest service is providing
extended MEP maintenance
services to buildings - an area
we found to be lacking in the
market.
With each development plan
we seek new ways to improve
our capacity and expand our
services.

FROM THE
MANAGING
DIRECTOR
Over the last ten years, Zakwani United
has grown immensely, learning from each
challenge that it has faced. Starting from very
small beginnings, we had a simple mission to
build homes with value. That has remained an
integral part of our strategy from the beginning
and continues to guide us today.
Since taking over the management of Zakwani
United in 2008 it has been a demanding, yet
rewarding, journey to bring the company
to where it is today. I am proud to say that
through changing economic climates and a
highly-competitive construction industry, the
company has only become more resilient. It is
undoubtedly the joint efforts of the whole team
that has made this possible.
‘Building homes with value’ remains
our core goal and the foundation of
our everyday work. We have been
fortunate to be able to expand
to include commercial buildings,
landscaping projects, and full-time
maintenance services, bringing on
specialized employees and moving
to bigger offices.
This growth brought with it the
development of standardised
policies and procedures, a focus
on safety, an investment in human
resources, and a client-centric
strategic approach.
It is especially important to

feels they’re receiving a personal
service, and we invest much of
our time in to the development of
client relations.
I’m happy to be able to say we
get better with every project we
complete. We’ve built a team
who understand each other and
communicate well together, and
that’s a major part of our success.
We’ve successfully taken on more
challenging projects and are able
to mobilise in remote locations.
We have a clear vision to develop
as a contractor who continuously
strives to up-skill employees,

COMPANY SERVICES
Specializing in residential
villas and apartment buildings,
ZU have experience in full
builds, renovation projects,
commercial construction and
civil works. ZU manage the
entire construction and all
subcontractor activities while
maintaining quality control.
Zakwani United currently offers clients a complete build,
install and landscape service. We continue to add more
and more services to our portfolio and strive to be able to
provide a one-stop-shop service for all design and build
needs.
Construction
The core function of ZU is general contracting, including
project management and build solutions for design and layout
challenges.
MEP Works
Using skilled employees and specialized sub-contractors, ZU
offers all MEP options and provides customised solutions for
individual clients.
Landscaping
Our landscaping team offers full services, from design, layout
and build to ongoing monthly maintenance, to irrigation services.
Zakwani United’s MEP
services extend to full-time
maintenance projects. ZU
offer ongoing maintenance
contracts, providing support
to commercial buildings and
residential complexes on all
MEP matters.
The most recent addition to
the ZU services is landscaping.
A full team of designers,
gardeners and landscape
engineers can design, install
and maintain gardens of any
size, both inside and outside.

ZAKWANI UNITED PROJECTS
Residential construction projects at Zakwani United vary in size, location
and build requirements. Over the years, we have continued to take on
bigger and more complex projects that challenge our team and push us
to build our capacity.
Project Name:
Sunrise Apartments
Project Type:
Residential Apartment Building
Build Date:
June 2014 - September 2015
Location:
Athaiba, Oman.
This six-storey apartment building, located in a
prime area of Athaiba, includes 24 apartments
and 24 car park spaces.
The Sunrise Apartments project posed an
engineering challenge for Zakwani United,
demanding large build requirements within a
tight, residential space. Surrounded on 3 sides
by residential structures, there was the additional
challenge of managing the storage of materials,
movement of equipments, and the coordination
of third-party services such as concreting.
Accessible only by a small, residential road, it was
necessary to obtain government permissions and
permits for regular road-closure.
Inside, each apartment includes 3 ensuite
bedrooms and a 4th bathroom, an open-plan
kitchen-living area, floor to ceiling glass doors
providing panoramic views of the ocean and
creating a sunlight flooded interior.
Despite the challenges along the way, the project
was successfully completed within 15 months
with a show-apartment completed early and
100% of apartments selling during build.

Private Villa, Seeb

Location:
Seeb, Oman.
This double-storey, 4 bedroom villa took 11
months to complete after construction began.
Incorporating a floating spiral-staircase and an
open-plan living/kitchen area, the build required
a team of engineers who made sure light exposure
to the living areas was not compromised.
The home includes 2 outhouses for domestic
help, an outdoor kitchen, 2 open garden spaces
and a concealed outdoor space for laundry and
storage.

continuously monitor the market and seek new, innovative methods for
improving and expanding our services and achieving our goals. Rarely in
construction will you find a project without hurdles, and so we prepare
by following a uniquely designed work schedule that allows for multiple
activities to be ongoing at one time, with the aim of minimising the
impact of unforeseen market delays. Our MEP team works closely with
our civil team and our clients are provided with direct communication
channels to both teams. We understand that plans change and new
ideas come along and we do our utmost to cater to client’s requests.
