for coaches, buses, trains… 

Media on Demand is a multimedia system offering independent 

choice of movies, music, pictures, FM radio and other multimedia 

content for all passengers regardless of the choice of the others. 

New SHD MOD system brings more power & brightness to monitors 

thanks to its improved performance and specifications. This is the real 

flagship of MOD systems in Bus&Coach and Railway industry worldwide. 

Note: Functionality available for respective MOD system depends 

on installation and configuration of the system 

Movies, music, pictures, FM radio & games 

MOD system offers wide possibilities to make the trip for 

passengers as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Up to 

72 users per server can independently choose from plenty of 

movies, music or pictures stored on the server, play games, 

listen to FM radio and watch the route on the map or many 

more options which can guarantee an entertained trip. 

Internet enabled MOD system 

Passengers can stay up-to-date with on-line information using 

web browser, stay in touch with friends on popular chats 

and social networks once internet connection is enabled in 

the vehicle. 

Satellite 

Why to miss an episode of favourite series or soap opera, 

talk show, news or other TV programme while you are on the 

road? MOD system can be expanded with unique low profile 

satellite TV antenna and sophisticated SAT-TV receiver. With 

this solution up to 20 TV channels can be available at the 

same time for the passengers at their fingertips. 

External TV sources 

Capture box converts analogue signals to digital suitable for 

MOD system, so it is possible to connect different external 

audio-video sources – front view camera, navigation, DVD 

player or any other composite AV signal. One capture box 

connects 4 AV sources and MOD system works with up 

to 4 capture boxes, so 16 composite AV sources can be 

integrated into MOD system. 

USB & LED light 

HD and new SHD monitors are equipped with USB charger 

port so your clients will never go out of power with their 

smartphones or smart devices. 10” monitors are equipped 

in some of their version also with LED reading light.

Enforced media playback 

MOD offers different ways for increasing attractiveness and competitiveness via 

additional features like Enforced Announcements (Audio or Audio&Video announcement) 

or generating additional revenues by adverts playback reflecting market, operators or 

any other customer needs. 

INTRO is a video played at system start. This video sequence can include any kind of 

message which should be delivered to passengers: welcome note, safety instructions, 

self promotion of the operator, adverts, … 

ADVERTS (Commercial spots) broadcasting can be programmed in different schemes 

- at journey start, time scheduled before, during or after the movie or while listening to 

the music, watching TV, ... 

Public ANNOUCEMENT gives the driver or the guide the possibility to interrupt the 

playback of multimedia content on individual monitors and to broadcast important 

audio message to all passengers via original speakers of the vehicle. The playback 

on all monitors is temporarily paused during the Announcement and is automatically 

resumed when MIC of the driver or the guide is disabled. 

During enforced media playback passengers cannot control the monitor. This feature 

ensures that the desired message will reach all passengers. 

DRIVER CONSOLE gives another option how to pass information to the passengers. 

The guide/driver can play different content stored on SD card regardless it is movie, 

commercial, instruction or sightseeing information whenever it is necessary or required.

Choice of offered movies, music or games is much 

easier thanks to Cloud. It is possible to handle, 

add and customize the list of offered movies in all 

vehicles from your office. Movies viewing statistics 

provide perfect overview of used applications.

Online updated information

Easy to connect & use 

Wireless MOD servers use Web portal for sharing media content and Internet 

connection. Clients (smart devices) use their own native Web Browser to enter Web 

Portal on the server so there is no need to install any application or to specially 

setup the device. It is easy and convenient – just select network connection and then 

use one of following options: scan QR code, input landing page address or just 

accept captive portal feature in case your device supports it. And then enjoy your 

trip with full access to rich multimedia content and Internet access. 

Unlimited HD Content 

Passengers can use their own personal electronic devices such as iPhone, Android 

phone, laptop, tablet, notebook etc. to connect multimedia server through wireless 

network and to enjoy its rich multimedia contents like movies, music, photos,

manually media content in each on-board server using USB stick or hard disc. This feature saves a lot of time and money. Vehicle Cloud 

system offers to all operators the functions of system remote diagnostics, maintenance, update, vehicle tracking, driver management, 

speed and fuel management and more. These features are helping operators to improve their efficiency, productivity, safety and can 

reduce overall transportation and staff costs. Above this, operators can get feedback from passengers by e-questionnaires (surveys), which 

can be a key information source for further improving of provided services and helping to build brand image. Operators get analysis 

reports of system usage, media usage statistics up to single media title usage level.

Live TV on central monitors 

Mobile SAT TV antenna in the vehicle with one or more central monitors for the passengers. Desired TV program is selected directly on the 

STB (SAT TV receiver). Appropriate videosplitter is used to split video signal in case more than one central monitor are used. As central

3G/4G (LTE) Router is a device connecting 

the vehicle to the Internet and enables Internet 

related services/functionality for its passengers:

Router can use one or more radio modules (modems) which multiplies 

connectivity speed and available bandwidth. Router with multiply modems 

uses specific strategy for assigning available resources to connected users 

requests, mostly it is “fell over“, “load ballancing“ or “band width bonding“ 

in more sofisticated routers. 

Every modem in 3G/4G routers uses single or dual SIM card slot for each 

modem and the router selects one of inserted SIM cards to be active based 

on pre-set conditions, depending on signal quality, roaming ban, or other 

rules. 

Majority of modern routers contain the tools for users management, 

assigning available bandwith/speed/data quota for them, Captive portal/ 

Welcome page, prohibited web pages access blocking (Blacklist) and 

many more.

for public transportation vehicles and using ARM Cortex 

A9 Dual Core 800MHz CPU provides enough computing 

capacity for additional features like Captive portal, Multimedia 

content, Cloud management, GPS monitoring and more. It supports simultaneous dual band Wi-Fi 

802.11n and a/c and is equipped with 4x Gigabit Ethernet port, serial I/O port, USB & micro SD card

Simultaneous Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11n&ac 

WLAN standard IEEE 802.11ac is a guaranty for unique highperformance 

WLAN. Simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi

Integrated Captive portal with Social Wi-Fi 

A captive portal is a web page which is displayed to newly 

connected users before they are granted broader access to 

network resources. Captive portals are commonly used to present a 

landing or log-in page which may require authentication, payment, 

acceptance of EULA/accepted use policies, or other valid 

credentials that both the host and user agree to adhere by. Router 

4G005.1 has integrated captive portal with optional features like 

splash page with advertisement images or videos and the system 

offers also access to the variety of off-line media content, which

With the range of up to 32 channels you will definitely choose your 

favourite genre. Thanks to digital audio quality the passengers will find 

also long trips to be too short for enjoying all of available songs. 

Up to 120 passengers can undisturbed enjoy the music in digital quality from one of 32 

channels. No music players are needed – all content is stored on SD card with capacity 

up to 32 GB in MCA server. It is also possible to connect external audio sources such as 

RDS broadcasting, which can be included as one of the channels. The movie on central 

monitors in the bus with audio on the headphones as one of the available channels is not a 

problem as well. With microphone connected to MCA server the driver or the guide has the 

possibility to interrupt the playback on all channels and to broadcast important message to 

all passengers. Paused playback is automatically restored when microphone is switched off.

It is unique automatic audio-information system for sightseeing buses. 

Automatic information playback about the monuments and attractions 

in up to 32 languages based on GPS position is the right solution 

for all sightseeing buses. Synergy of Telematics server and GPS 

antenna changes standard multichannel audio system into unique & 

sophisticated sightseeing system. The latest version of MCA server 

integrates GPS Sightseeing functionality in one unit bringing even 

easier installation. Particular information based on GPS position is 

automatically broadcasted to passengers. Once the bus reaches the 

position of monument or attraction, related information will be played 

in up to 32 languages. Passengers can watch short movie about the 

point of interest they are passing which is played automatically on 

central monitors. If there is no related information available, system

Telematics solution 

This system is designed for buses, VIP taxis and minibuses. Its main

Digital Audio Broadcasting 

Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) is a digital radio standard for 

broadcasting digital audio radio services, used in countries across 

Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. 

The DAB standard was developed as an European research project in the 1980s and the 

first DAB channel in the world NRK Klassisk was started in June 1995 by the Norwegian 

Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) followed by BBC and Swedish Radio lanuching their first 

DAB broadcasts in September 1995. DAB receivers have been available in many countries 

since the end of the 1990s. 

DAB is more efficient in means of using radio frequencies spectrum than analogue FM radio 

and thus can offer more radio services in given bandwidth. DAB is more robust with regard 

to noise and multipathfading for mobile listening, but DAB reception quality degrades 

rapidly when the signal strength falls below a critical threshold, whereas FM radio quality 

degrades slowly with decreasing signal, providing effective coverage over a larger area. 

Original version of DAB uses MP2 audio codec while its upgraded version called DAB+ released in February 2007 uses HE-AAC v2 

audio codec. DAB standards are not forward compatible which means that DAB receivers are not able to receive DAB+ broadcasts. DAB+ 

is approximately twice as efficient as DAB, and it is more robust. 

At the end of 2017 already 38 countries were running DAB services with majority of them are using DAB+. It is expected that existing FM 

services will switch over to DAB+ soon and again Norway is the leader with switching off the FM analog radio in 2017. 

MDAB-008 and MDAB-009A are DAB/DAB+ receivers with FM transmitter to connect to standard car radio. Besides this functionality 

these units have Bluetooth for hands-free mobile phone connectivity and MDAB-009A has also RDS function.

the hard disk either by means of a direct connection to a computer or via WiFi or standard

The first option is to use wide angle camera which mostly provides picture distortion. Second 

possibility is to use dual lens camera with correct pointing individual lenses so their pictures

separate video channels and DVR records them separately. 

The most advanced way is to use modern „parallax“ camera, which has also 2 individual

In case the driver needs a real time picture of what is happening 

in his driving area and it is technically difficult or impossible 

to use wires for connection cameras with DVR or with driver´s 

monitor without recording it is recomended to use wireless 

camera system. Thanks to modern WiFi technologies signal 

quality and stability is good enough when 2 or even more 

cameras are used in one system. Wireless monitoring system 

is easy to install and it provides the same quality, comfort,

About us 

MOLPIR s.r.o. is private company, founded in 1993, 

dealing with design, development, production, import 

and distribution of a wide range of car, truck, bus, coach 

and train accessories not only on the original territory 

of Slovak and Czech republic but expanding gradually 

to-neighbouring countries as well as to whole Europe. 

In-2009, MOLPIR introduced the first digital MOD (Media 

on Demand) system in Europe. In 2011 MOLPIR has 

become European FUNTORO Representative for the whole 

European region and Russian speaking countries with 

competence to provide complete tailor-made solutions 

for-different customers. 

Research and development 

MOLPIR as European FUNTORO representative strongly 

participates on the applications development for multimedia 

systems as well as for sightseeing solutions. The development 

of new features and functions starts already also among the 

students at Slovak Technical University, who bring the new 

fresh ideas into the development. They have laboratory with 

various multimedia equipment available for their studies 

and graduation thesis. MOLPIR internal team processes the 

requirements of the customers, market feedback information 

and prepares tailor-made applications and software.

regardless of the application – vehicle with aftermarket 

installation or coach on production line. Know-how,

cooperation with local moulding and plastic parts producers 

is leading MOLPIR to be reliable and high quality supplier of 

complex solutions from the idea to the final implementation.

& railway safety standards. The insta llation solutions 

development is also including passengers´ safety aspects
