Since retiring in 2001, I have devoted myself to creating 3-D wood art using<br />
a wood lathe.<br />
I take trees that have come down or been taken down by disease or the<br />
vagaries of nature and turn the wood into beautiful pieces of art.<br />
I treat each tree as a valuable resource and do my best to give it new life<br />
where someone can appreciate its beauty. Each piece I make is different<br />
from ones I have made previously.<br />
I study the grain and character of the log and try to make something worthy<br />
of the material. Some of my pieces can be functional, holding food or<br />
flowers.<br />
And others are purely decorative art pieces designed for display in homes,<br />
offices, museums, or conference rooms.
