_I am still learning
Hello! I am Csenge, a Hungarian girl, growing up in Romania in a big family.
I am a graphic designer and “I am still learning” is my favourite quote by Michelangelo
and I relate what he said cause I think in design (as well as in other
disciplines) there is always something new for us to learn, whether if you’re
a student, a professional or a well-known designer. This attitude will keep us
fresh and help us to broaden our horizons. There’s always something new out
there waiting for us to discover!
DesignThinking_ Flash ND is part of Neufville Digital’s GRAFÍA
LATINA Collection. Designers: Enric Crous-Vidal 1953
A display typeface containing capitals, lining figures and punctuation.
It is a typical headline and poster font. The typeface design is
based upon the elements ‘light’ and ‘shadow’ producing a powerful
contrast with a special harmony, giving an impression of a third
dimension.
The project target was to create a parfum design for this typface,
using the typface atmosphere.
_CD packaging for the Dream On cover by Depeche Mode.
DesignThinking_The Dream On song transmits the ambiguity of feelings,
billowing of the life. I try to symbolize these main caracteristics
of the song, the melancoly and the ambiguity of love, the waves of
emotions. I chose the red (love) and blue (waves, eternal like water,
unpredictable can rise up but there is the deep down) colors. With
the fluid feminine “waves” I chose a “masculine” strong typography.
In the booklet I specially focus on forming a constructivist layout,
playing with text blocks and rectangular pictures.
DesignThinking_This project is far away from graphic area (two dimensional
works), but I do like to work with real life materials, to feel the
forms and shapes, it was a good experience to feel the difference between
two dimensional and three diemnsional concepts. During the workflow, I
kept in sight and mind the waving lines of the fungi.

_Printing_I’m quite familiar with serigraphy. This technique requires
a lot of precision. On the contrary, it also gives the artist
much freedom for creativity. This contrast fascinates me. I did
this work during my internship time in Printa Studio-Budapest.
My favourite part was the experimental free printing...

_Printing_ These designs were made during my internship time in
Printa design studio, where I learned the technique of serigraphy. I
learned how to apply this technique onto different materials: wood,
fabric. Besides learning about serigraphy, in this studio I learned
about the ideology of zero waste design, which changed the way how
I see design and the market.
*Printa is one of the first environmentally conscious brands in Hungary
that is engaged in designing and making a wide range of products.Be it
a souvenir, a piece of clothing, accessories or graphics, their ideology is
predominantly based on three main words: Budapest, eco-fashion and silkscreen
printing.

_Zapf.app mobile application
This is my first work in UI design area, I really enjoyed to explore the
wireframe size and the interactive part of all this. With this project I
started to learn how to work the program, InVision (still in process...)
The Zapf.app interface design I created under my schoolarship in
UPV/EHU Facultad de Bellas Artes, the target of this project was to
meet with the interactive graphic design, and in the same time learn
about the Zapf designer couple.
+ + +
DesignThinking_ The Zapf.app is a mobile application with educational
role. The target of the application is to give a comprehensive
image about the Zapf couple: about theirs design, innovates and
about theirs life.
The app design uses their typographical work to celebrate
Gudrun Zapf von Hesse 100th birthday.
The visual aspect of the app design is inspired by the use of
Herman’s typface Palatino Linotype typefamily and the use of Herman’s
Zapfino Dingbats. In the workflow, I aimed to bring out their
characteristic typography: their finely delicate lines with a dynamic
approach.

_logo
The logo for the application is a typographical
symbol which I aimed to
create with handwriting letter effect. I
used the Palatino Linotype font family
with different letter forms (Bold Italic,Bold,
Italic, Regular)
_color and combination
At the heart of colors for more flexible
handling of the application, as well as
creating a paperlike effect, which is
connected to the handwriting process
in typography. The blue colour also
symbolizes handwriting as a representation
of an ink colour.
_typography
The Palatino typeface was first designed
over 50 years ago by Hermann
Zapf, and is probably the most universally
admired and used of his type
designs. In 1950, it was punchcut in
metal by August Rosenberger, and
then adapted for Linotype machine
composition. Palatino is a typeface
based on classical Italian Renaissance
forms. It has become a modern classic
in itself. Works well for both text and
display typography.
