STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK | FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (FIT) Hensel Phelps performed Outsourced Facility Management – Consultant Services for the State University of New York (SUNY) Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) based on proven experience in facility management, operations, consulting, and subject matter expertise. The state university college of art and design, business, and technology, FIT currently has an enrollment of over 10,000 students at their 1.8 million square foot campus. Hensel Phelps conducted a comprehensive review of the FIT facilities portfolio (multi-building complex in Manhattan), including: examination and assessment of current campus conditions; comparison of management and staffing models in an urban environment; recommendations concerning best practices; and development of a detailed scope of work for the Outsourced Facilities Management (OFM). The team created and updated facility standards for FIT and oversaw the procurement process to engage an OFM to operate and maintain the facilities. Hensel Phelps as FIT’s Owner’s Representative provided ongoing management oversight and contract performance review of the selected OFM.
