In Malaysia, KFC and McDonald’s are two of the most popular fast food restaurants. There are currently 271 McDonald’s outlets and over 600 KFC outlets in Malaysia. In the past, a visit to fast food restaurant was reserved for special occasions like birthday celebration and good exam grades. Today, fast food is viewed in a different way and many people see it as casual dining.
