FOREWORD
Have you every wondered why cards and personally
written letters are so popular? The reason is very
simple, people love to receive them. Nothing says, “I
care” more than the thought that someone
took the time and energy to
communicate to them.
When we are loved, cards and letters should be
expected, especially when we have special events
and birthdays. However, the simple “I Love You”
card or letter goes a long way. We love to read soft
and delicate words more than ever, when the
goodwill expressed is directed toward us. The whole
ambiance of a surprise wrapped in an envelope,
raises our romantic heartbeats several tender pumps
per minute everytime.
One thing that we love about written letters and
notes, is that we get to role play what

the writer is saying. We get to hear the
person speaking to us in the tones and nuances we
want to hear, over and over. Cards, letters and
memos can be better than phone calls and direct
communications. In reality, they serve as surrogates
and ambassadors, presenting our messages in the
most positve light possible. Sometimes kindness
read is better than kindness spoken. The receiver of
our notes get to take their time and digest the dear
and tasty words that have been sent to them.
How many times have we sent a card and proudly
answered the phone when our lover called to thank
us? Communication breeds
communication, and when the
communication is good, the
moments of life are better. We tend to
be thrilled to know that someone is happy about us.
Smiles, laughter and joy issue chemicals in our
bodies that heal us and we love to be healed.

Those who are in the business of making and writing
greeting cards, make millions and millions of dollars
helping us express ourselves. These producers have
their place, but I bet if we wrote our own words, the
impact would be life changing. Our loved ones
deserve a “straight from the heart” and hand written
note from us from time to time. These notes become
“Love Letters” that they will relish for the rest of
their lives.
We can be and will stay very popular to our loved
ones, because of our writing efforts. We can
say, “I care” in strong and
passionately written words,
designed to live in their hearts
forever. So let’s get writing, our lovers can’t
wait! They will always be surprised when they
receive romantic cards, memos and notes, our own
Love Letters written from our own brave souls.

PREFACE
Love Letters where do they come from? They
come from the inner rooms of the soul. Where do
they go? They are sent out to people we love, yet
sometimes, those whom we want to reach never
received them. Love Letters, how are they written?
They come straight from the heart. They are
tenderly written with so much love, care and
concern that the world must stop and embrace the
writer’s intentions.
This EBook is a collection of love letters, poems and
memos written by me, Mark Anthony Hall. They are
a declaration of pure adoration, desiring to inspire
hope, love and sincere goodwill. My goal when I
wrote each piece was to simply insert tender
feelings, into the minds of the people that I hailed to
be dear, near and close to me.
If you wrote a love letter what would you say? Have
you ever experienced the freedom that comes from
exposing your own heart? I would like to encourage
you to give it a try. If you stop and listen, the words

will come pouring from your soul. Your love for
communicating will increase and your sugar-laced
thoughts will flow! The receiver of your
secret memos will truly
understand how important they
are to you. Their lives will be made sweeter,
aided by the impact of your private love letters!
I have been sitting here too long. I am trapped in Love‟s
Basement. I haven‟t shaved, I haven‟t eaten and if I don‟t
drink water soon, I fear I will just disappear. I am telling my
legs to “Stand up!” but they just won‟t move. I‟ve tried to
think of myself and think of the things that I need, aside
from the thought of you, those things appear as greed.
I have entered a room strewn with flowers and romantic
thoughts. So I gladly gave my hand to the possibility, of
intellectually, loving you. Now my heart has been wrapped
by pleasant chains and my dreams have entered into the
world of my third sub consciousness. I sit calling your name
believing you can hear me. My words are now song, how
lovely. The floor of my mind has turned paper drafts to petals
and if you could just see them, you would find me. Can‟t you
hear my plea? Please come to me.
With one stamp, I could mail my letters. You would know
my care, my despair, my need for your kisses to fill the air, of
my brain. I feel myself fading. The sea is getting closer to the
sand and when they meet, my words will disappear forever. I
haven‟t shaved, my tongue is dry and my legs won‟t move.
You are the sparkle in my eye, yet the lights are dimming. I
believe one song will get through. I believe you will hear my
call and rescue me from Love‟s Basement. Mark

I Dream of Seeing You
I dream of seeing you, tears with future of needing release,
It has been too long since we have been together.
I‟m restless, cranky and a down right mess
when you are not around.
Take my autograph; I will sign my whole world away,
just to hold you in my arms.
Steal my heart, store it in the case of your mind
and love me like never before.
I have so many inside thoughts that only God can see,
Oh how I love you so much!
In life‟s hustle, don't shy away.
I dream of seeing you.
I love you. I know you love me.
Let‟s spend some quality time together.
Mark

Dear Beloved,
I really could use your friendship right about now,
these last months, not to mention the past year,
have been very difficult for me.
Beloved, tell me if I'm wrong,
but a friend is someone who is always happy to see you.
A friend builds up and celebrates the right in your life,
And knows the exact words to say when you're wrong.
Beloved, I could use your all-consuming empathy,
and simply let your voice ease some of the troubles
I now feel.
Maybe tomorrow or maybe next week I'll get to see you.
I'm not desperate, yet my heart is despairing.
Beloved, the last week of my life has been really tough,
but with a friend like you I know I will make it through.
Love,
Mark

You Are Beautiful
Have you ever been told that you are beautiful?
Has anyone observed the way your walk
or told you about your style?
I wish I could see your face,
watch the gleam in your eye, your sweet smile.
You are beautiful,
and I just wanted you to know that,
no other woman has your charm or appeal,
I love the way you make me feel,
You are so beautiful,
I love your sweet smile.
Mark

Dear Queen of My Dreams
I have been watching your switch
And your moving your hips, they are just lovely!
Dear Queen of My Dreams,
I'm touching the curve of your nose,
Please, quickly blush or blink before your eyes blind me.
My Sheba,
my Helen,
my Nefertiti, you chilled me to the skin,
every time I begin this midnight matinee.
My Cleopatra,
my Lena,
my Xena,
in my eyes there is a star filled sky,
As I watch you switch and slowly move your hips,
for to me they are just lovely!
Love - Mark

Whenever You Dream
Whenever you dream,
take love and all it‟s worth.
When your heart drifts away,
Let the scenes be what you want them to be.
Close your eyes,
rest your head, run away!
Please forget what hurts and pains you have.
Unplug the phone; silence your TV and just dream.
Sit still my dear tender woman,
quiet your troubles, float away.
These restful moments are for you my love.
Precious dreamer, just dream,
Let the scenes be, what you want them to be.

Dear Lady,
I remember yesterday as fire!
We burned the bed down,
found what could be found in our lovemaking.
Dear Lady, I heard your oohs, ahs and ohs.
I believe you were also humming,
as I increased the rhythm of my down stroke.
Dear Lady, when you bit me, was that really an accident?
Dear Lady, you grabbed my buttocks,
as one would a volleyball, a vise was your grip
and you wouldn't let go!
Dear Lady, I respect you for getting all that you needed
and how you greeted the opportunity to let yourself feel
completely free.
Dear Lady, I will remember yesterday as fire,
and how we found what could be found in our lovemaking.
Love - Mark

I'm In Love With You Now
I am in love with you now,
you are all I can see.
My mind is yours; these words are meant for you.
We are finally alone and right now I need you,
So give me your all, please give me your everything.
Send your smell,
I want your body scents to keep capturing my mind.
Nip my ears, and then kiss my lips,
drink deep of what I am saying.
I'm loving you now,
wrapped in this embrace,
pull me tighter, never let go!
Release passion‟s thoughts, release them right now,
oh how I need you.
Though my eyes are closed, I am loving you now,
You are all that I can see.
Mark

Dear Babe,
I was just thinking about what a blessing it is
for us to be together.
You are the answer to what the concept of love is.
Dear Babe, you are every cliché, “Money in the bank”
“The light at the end of the tunnel”
you have “turned my swords into plowshares”
and brought joy to every morning of my life.
Dear Babe, you know that I'm a fighter,
Meek yet strong, fierce when I have to be.
Dear Babe, your touch turns me.
Your commitment and my commitment are the same.
Your voice removes the bee stings
and the splinters that lodge in my hands from time to time.
I am so happy that we are together!
You are the answer to the “concept” of what love is.
I love you so much!
Mark

Hug Me Don‟t Use Me
You worked your two jobs and when you kick your shoes off,
you fall asleep. You feed your family and by some kind of
“Amazing Grace” you visit the schools, go to the zoos and
give your children the precious quality time that they need.
When I first saw you, I just saw your beauty. I had no clue
about what you do, the way you lived or how you survived.
When I first saw you, I just plunged in with the brightest of
smiles and my enthusiasm made you grin.
I insisted and through your kindness or maybe through your
need, you agreed to see me. I never really understood how
much is at risk when a mother meets a new man. I just looked
into you eyes and though they were strong, a voice said, “Hug
me, don‟t use me.”
Our first date took a week or two, but you were ready. You
engaged me, you gave me so much loving and you imprinted
your lips on my brain, no “Goodnights” were said. When I
got home, my phone had two messages from you. One said, “I
had such a great time” and the other said, “You were already
losing your mind” thinking about me.
For the way you made me feel, I will gladly take a number
and wait behind your life and your responsibilities. Next time
if you will let me, I‟ll gladly massage and rub your feet. Next

time, if it just happens to be the weekend when the children
are gone and you don‟t want to be alone, I will bring you
into my world. I too live by a kind of “Amazing Grace”. I
don‟t know how I have been able to live by myself all of
these years. What I do know is that
when I saw you, I left my
loneliness alone when you let me
enter your world. We both didn‟t have a clue
and whether it was through our kindness or through our
needs, our voices blended together singing, “Hug me, don‟t
use me”.
I Love you so much,
Mark

When Words Come
When words come,
tell me what you are feeling,
when sure,
say all you have to say.
Please be clear,
state romance,
then bend your ruler‟s edge.
Meditate fair lady, collect the letters,
make the words, bring out a sound, make it sweet for me!
Whisper your tones, sing soft musical chords,
surround these ears with your siren‟s song.
When words come, tell me your feelings.
When sure, say all you have to say.
Please be clear, state the lines of romance.

Dear Kindred Spirit,
when we see each other let's pray.
Let‟s state our mutual feelings and our common desires.
When I see you, my life is good,
you bring a higher degree of zeal, zip and urgency.
Dear Kindred Spirit, I enjoy the way we spiritually
compliment each other.
Together, I love it when we express our need to be tied
into our Creator. We know God approves of this, blesses
this, blesses us when we are seeking his face. We know God
is satisfied when we “acknowledge him in all of our ways.”
Dear Kindred Spirit, when we pray,
I feel close to God and closer to you.
In prayer, I bare and honestly expose my deepest thoughts.
I hope you can see the real me.
When we see each other, let's pray.
Pray that we will be better people. I‟m praying to be a
better man and fully receive your wonderful kindred spirit.

Tears of Loneliness
Tears of loneliness,
midnight cries, no one else can hear,
yelled loud, screaming across my heart.
I wish they didn‟t weigh so much,
I wish I weren‟t alone here with tissue soft,
my unwanted friend.
Please comfort me, I have begged.
Absorb the drops that were meant for her shoulder,
Take the sobs I wanted her to feel.
Stop leaving me dazed and hide these salty spots so that the
world won‟t see them. I'm feeling dry; I‟m feeling a little
empty, seems I have cried all of loneliness‟ tears,
but the screams are still there.
Shout loud my heart, let the pain go.
It is far past the midnight hour,
she can‟t hear or help my distress,
so I‟ll cry these lonely tears.

Dearest Beloved - I Envy,
the pangs of loneliness are upon me, I feel terribly isolated, as
I walk, as I wander from task to task.
At first, I thought it was the “flu”. My muscles were sore,
my guts were strained and my head ached, when I realized I
hadn't hugged or held you close for days. It became clear that
medicine I needed wasn't available.
Dearest Beloved, I find myself battling the aggressions of
depression, getting anyone to hold me is not an option.
Cuddling up next to a stranger, would be like revisiting my
youthful lust and I just can't do that anymore.
Beloved, these pangs make what is pleasant seem mean. I
envy couples walking hand-in-hand and lovers stealing
kisses. These pangs are like an ocean wave out of control and
all of this is taking place inside my body.
As I do my job, I‟m just wandering from task to task, I feel
terribly isolated. Please come as soon as you can, for only you
can help me.
Love - Mark

Late Night In Your Eye
Late night in your eye,
“Come go with me”, softly spoken and whispered,
“Let‟s slip away”.
This love, the way I feel now, I'm yours.
I'll wait for you once the lights have been turned out,
And when the crowd has gone away,
I will give you love at its best.
Be my love tonight.
I'll please and satisfy you, just come, just go with me.
I never want to forget you.
I want to make love to you,
for then I will have your love forever!
It is late into the night and I wish you were mine.
Right now, the way I feel, I'm yours.

Dear I Didn't See
I know I missed you, missed the great opportunity of us. Day
by day, the differences were added on and we decided to live
on separate shores and be no more.
I know I missed you.
Instead of subtracting, I added, growing a field of pain, hurt
feelings, sorrows and unbearable strain.
I don't know the day our relationship snapped, but I missed
the subtle clues, we were unglued, “We” didn't exist anymore.
I missed you at every curve and turn. Dear, I didn‟t see the
big billboard in the sky that said, “This relationship is dead!”
We had so many differences. So, instead of slowing down, I
grew a field of pain. Dear, I didn‟t even see the little sign
you were holding in your hand. The one that said, “This
relationship is dead, it doesn't exist anymore.”
Sadly expressed,
Mark

Could You Ever Say
I'm only confident God will show me what to do,
I remembered how you use to kiss me and say,
“My Love! My Lord!” then smile and giggle.
My heart rested safe,
I was free from every shade of darkness.
I felt peace,
and a certain degree of hope that your words extended to me.
“Hold tight troubadour” is what you would say,
“Stand tall, be a valiant man for the Lord!”
I still see your eyes. I still hear your melody.
“Come my Love! Come my Lord!”
As I wash my face with reality,
again, I‟ll have to put my trust in the Lord,
I‟m sure he‟ll show me what to do,
How to ease your pain, how to love you.
I am only confident God will show me what to do.

Dear Star on the Rise,
Congratulations! I heard the great news, this letter from left
field may mean nothing to you, but I felt something, I feel
good for you.
I heard your career was on the rise and everything was going
your way. I read this and saw your picture in the paper
today. They said you “took your work to another plane and
the whole world gained, for having you on the planet.”
Even from this distance, I proudly told people that I knew
you. I allowed myself to forget that our love wasn‟t
happening anymore. From the distance, I stared at your
picture and said your name, enjoying the formation of
syllables I made with my mouth.
Dear Shooting Star, I heard the great news and wrote to
congratulate you. It may mean nothing to you, but I felt
something, I feel so good for you!
Love - Mark

Must I Steal Your Heart
“Thou shalt not . . .”
I know it is one of the commandments, but I am going to try
anyway. Open your heart open wide Dear Daughter of God,
I have found the power; I have found the guidance that I
have always needed to make you happy.
Is your heart still searching for love?
How many arrows must we shoot at each other?
It is time to lay our weapons down. I don‟t want a future
filled with pain. I know who you are. I know that you are a
precious gift and the precious gift of you was given to me.
Look to the past, then look to the future, I can see our
generations. In the distance, they will be a strong cry for
what we must do. Please try to understand what I am
saying.
Your eyes have brought me so much joy, but I wish I knew
you soul. “Thou shalt not . . .” I have found the power,
I‟m going to try anyway.
Must I steal your heart?

Dear Sensitive Lady,
I'm writing this, hoping to penetrate the fortress of defenses
set up by you, to beat me back when I'm wrong.
I'm writing, hoping to appeal to the non-sensible areas of
forgiveness, believing you to would like to defuse the vein of
bitterness I have caused. To say the words, “I'm sorry” aloud,
I fear would be putting “match to flame” and instigate a
sarcastic game of fencing. So many holes have been poked
into my soul, I need your help. I am a man, trying to do the
“right” thing.
I'm really sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I know words can
be sharper than swords; they can tear down and rip through
the thickest of shields.
Dear Sensitive Lady, I'm sorry for stinging your heart. I‟m
sorry for smiling when you were in pain. I hope you will
chose not to beat me back too far. I am offering my sincerest
apologies. I know and admit from my heart that I was
wrong. I do love you.
Reach Deep for What You Love
If the sky opened wide, giving you all you ever wanted,
would you take what it offered unto you?
If the clouds formed stairs, revealing the road to your dreams
and all you needed to know, would you walk that path?
If answers to your struggles were served upon a golden
platter, would you accept them and play life like a child?
Can identity be given to what you want? Your thoughts are
already written it in the stars. So please, don't send away the
truths that are held deep in your mind. Let them out with a
shout and I‟ll join you, celebrating everything that you are.
See through the clouds, see past the simple answers. From the
core of your soul, reach deep for what you love, then walk in
rooms few have ever found. And when you arrive, just be
there for me and those who may need you.

History Is Funny
History keeps a funny record. Money is not security. With
love, people have survived great depressions, saving and loan
scandals, gas gouging cheaters and the current crimes
committed by the swindlers in the housing markets.
History is funny, money is not security. I have had friends
die in wars. I have had friends overwhelmed by sickness and
illness. I have had friends loaded with money and expire from
a stinking kind of life they choose to live. If my love is
regulated by the inventions of TV and a crowd of want to
bees then by all means leave me. If my love is restless nights,
countless fights with myself and mundane orations of what
we are not, then truly I have forgotten how to love you.
Yes, I will strive to provide my share of what we think we
need. Yes, I have no fear of putting my money in your hands,
after all, you plan better than I do and mainly because of you
we have made it “through” thus far. History is so very funny.
Love for job, love for self and nothing else is all that has
mattered to some. In my own journey, I have seen anger,
fears and tender tears of the wounded as they lay dying. I
have heard open screams and lunatics howling at the moon,
sharing their pain with an unsympathetic sky. They lost their
love along with their money, I tell you, history is funny.

Beautiful Mind
Beautiful mind or should I say beautiful soul, It is your
spirit that I feel. Wrapped in a pleasing outer loveliness, just
beneath your breast, lies a treasure chest, I‟m thanking God I
have arrived at your intellect, love and passion.
Beautiful person, beautiful life, simple words, belief of
whom you are, with these soft statements, I am encouraging
you. Stand up, beat back the fears, that have been piled on
over the years, see the big red flag, I‟m waving it, so please
acknowledge it‟s flapping in the wind. If you have a
moment, tell me your vision again. Give me another chance to
exist inside of your dream. Paint your truths with the
rainbow‟s colors, and then show me where you are going and
share just a step or two.
Yesterday, I heard you speak your power. Yesterday, I heard
you cry your heart and you called my whole world to your
attention. You closed my eyes with tenderness; you lit the
pages of the sea with your scented voice. You enthralled me
and soaked my feet with the ocean‟s waves.
Beautiful mind, beautiful soul, your drive is so very strong,
yet the art of you has been gently and tenderly pressed
together, like the perfection of weather, springtime turning
into a summer day. For I see high purity, I see your intellect,
wrapped into your outer loveliness. And I know, that just
beneath your breast, lays a wonderful treasure chest, I‟m
thanking God your friendship has come my way!

Dear Hard Working Woman,
Your strenuous labor on behalf of our family is appreciated.
Your break-less, breathless and ongoing motions of devotion
are received and registered deep inside of my heart.
There is no making up for your expended energies, but maybe
a quiet dinner will help. For five days in a row, I'm going to
run you a bubble bath and massage your toes just to slow you
down.
My Angel, I've noticed you seem to be weary and tired.
Maybe, you need someone to serve you. Let's take a vacation
to Trinidad or Tobago, places far away from the cold and
chill of Chicago.
My Love, I've noticed your life has been a whirlwind, a
nonstop, on the run, under the gun type of existence. I
appreciate all that you have been doing. I appreciate every
move you make, especially for my sake. Just keep this in
mind. I'm going to slow you down. I‟m going to take the time
and create the space needed to rebuild you and your expended
energies.
Love - Mark

Touch Me Again
Touch me again,
I am always touched,
please do it again, move me.
Speak to my mind,
talk to my spirit; release the words you saw in me.
I've got to see you, be near you, please Lord let it be.
She touched me, she moved me and I want more!
I want to be caressed by her voice, held close by the truth she
speaks, given a chance to know her better.
The excitement that I feel right now,
I'm trying not to let it show.
But, it's the way she expresses and articulates from her
heart that moves me, I‟m simply asking,
please let her touch me again.

To The One I Care For Extremely
I saw you walking on water the other day
and I must say that I was impressed.
You took step by step with surety
And knew without a doubt,
the direction you wanted to take.
Dear I Care for You Extremely, I saw your character under
fire. I saw how your accusers presented an airtight case, but
you kept your pace, you kept walking along. You were
confident, you were focused,
you never turned your head to the side.
And, when you won the victory, I let out a roar,
Oh how I adore you! I have seen you do this before.
You have even helped me win the “gold” a time or two. What
a great life, walking on water everyday! I feed off of your
confidence, focus and energy. You are so much a part of my
life and I care for you extremely!
Love - Mark

If You Asked
If you asked, I would send them again.
It would be worth the joy you bring.
If you wanted twenty words or just one more,
I would search my soul; I would give them to you,
Issuing a true declaration,
A true mix of love laced syllables from my inner being.
What is it that you respond to?
What kind of oration do you need from me
To revive your stagnant rooms?
And, if I said my words aloud, would you understand if
the inspiration was meant for more than just one woman?
I did love the smiles.
I did know other hearts were being penetrated
as I spoke what you love.
If you asked, bit by bit, I would search my soul.
I would give all of me,
it would be worth the joy that you always bring.

Dear Thoughtfulness,
Thanks, I got your card and it did more good than you'll ever
know. It tickled my heart and started a slideshow of your
images in my mind.
Frame One: We were on the beach.
Frame Two: I saw gentle kisses, as I expressed my love to
you.
Frame Three: The cherry tree. Remember when I climbed it
and dropped cherries down to you one at a time?
Frame Four: Ouch! The time I accidentally smashed your
fingers in the door.
Frame Five: Us Para-Sailing high in the sky, waving
goodbye to the earth far below.
Frame Six: The special mix of “our” love songs that we love
to dance to.
Dear Thoughtfulness, I got your card and got so many images
of you in my head. Thanks! Thank you so much for being true
and thinking about me.
Love - Mark

Dear Me
Dear me, I'm glad you said that,
it makes me feel special, like I mean something to you.
Thanks for endearing my name,
with that sweet refrain, thanks for reaching deeper.
In return,
I say hello to you my beautiful and lovely friend.
Don't stop looking my way.
In return, I say hello to you the unafraid,
you are so sweet and tender.
I like the way you have for setting things in motion.
I like the way you stopped by and supported me.
For in that exchange, how sweet the name that I became,
Dear me!
Let‟s see, let me try imaging the sweetness of your name.
Dear Beloved, Dear Honey, Dear Sugar, Dearest.
Dear Darling, Dear Sweetie, Dear Lady.
All of these belong to you my Dear Love.

Dear Beloved Sunrise,
The pulse of my day is tuned to your rising.
When I know you are in this world, there is a sentimental
tempo that accompanies my every move.
Beloved, you bring out my passions,
so I extend extra moments of sympathy,
empathy and compassion to those who need it most.
Beloved Sunrise, you fill my cup,
you give me every good gift,
you set a tone for the way that I pace my life.
Beloved, my necessity, my urgency is to reciprocate,
enunciate, communicate and ingratiate your being,
with every drop of love I have to offer you.
And, if I am allowed to see tomorrow, I will begin anew.
For the pulse of my day, is tuned to your rising.
Love - Mark

Forever Mine
From one's heart, you can learn how they feel,
then comes the loving and touching.
From single words and phrases, you can see their spirit,
especially when they release your personal favorites. I can
tell when you are well and yes I can tell when you are
fine. Maybe I should thank you, because from your
character, blessings flow like a menagerie of a fanciful
carousel. Do keep hoping and keep praying, because I
have been sick lately. I have been battered and beaten
down a little, but I did want to thank you for picking me
up. From one to one hundred thousand, you were the
only person who decided to help me. I know you are
aware of the shortness of my time. I know you understand
my priorities. I will see you again. Not in pictures and
slides, nor by telephones or e-mails, but in Atlanta.
Until then, please remain and stay, forever mine.
Mark

Dear Kindest of Persons,
I didn't plan this sickness, this onslaught of physical
demise. I thought when it came, it would not stay and it
would quickly go away.
When I was removed from my home, I remembered the
sound of a siren and the hustle and bustle surrounding my
plight and possible entry into the next world.
“They” said that I was out cold, asleep for four days and
were amazed by the way you stood by me. “They” said you
never moved, that you stayed glued by my bedside, gently
rubbing my hand and whispering sweetly in my ear
“everything will be all right”.
Although I remember nothing, I knew your presence
meant something. I'm sure that even near death, everyone
saw and knew, the bond that exists between me and you.
You are the kindest of persons.
Love - Mark

In You Lie Answers
How can I but feel relief and joy from you my sister?
In your soul lie the answers to my years of prayer,
in your heart lies the word of God.
Warm my hands with truth,
lift my spirit above today's trouble,
give me real dreams; expose me to God's blessed passion.
Recite to me the music that I live by, from your heart,
let the purest of lyrics rush forth!
Sing to me a King‟s song,
ignite my praise, my prayers and my thankfulness.
I see beyond a smile. I see past my eye‟s delight.
In you my sister lie the answers to all of my prayers,
In your heart lies the word of God!

Dear Ms. Listening Ear,
I never dream the boulders would drop from the sky like this
and fall on me. Nothing prepared me for the tears, for this
kind of despair, when you lose someone.
I have been walking up to strangers and asking them, “Did
you know my mother?” and I don't feel bad when they say
“No”. It‟s just a device I use, a ruse for letting my feelings
go.
It's weird the way that I am so much a part of her, my
mother. The best parts of me are really the things I learned
from her. Now and then I try to cook meals she cooked. I try
to bake the way she baked and I do laugh when I fall so
short, missing the “taste” as I remembered them.
Dear Ms. Listening Ear, I'm so glad you have not
pronounced me crazy. I'm so glad for the way you have
supported me, as I try to work out in my mind the way I miss
my mother. A boulder fell from the sky and nothing prepared
me for these tears. I appreciate you!
Love - Mark

Your Lips Only Say
You can never leave me with a few words.
Your heart can never stop speaking,
what I know you have to say.
How can I not grow, listening to you?
How can hope not be fulfilled?
I died a long time ago to the flesh and the increase you
have been giving is all mine.
Your lips can only say my nightly lullaby, so go ahead and
Utter your endless inspiration.
Rock me gently to sleep and in the morning, I will awake
to your letters, to written words that are now a part of
me. In you, I have seen a true mirror and my soul is lifted.
Arise now, that which was
once weary, go on oh un-fainted heart!
Listen to words that will never leave. Listen to what you
know she has to say! She‟s singing your nightly lullaby,
listen to the words, her lips could only say!

Dear Ms. Forgiveness,
I'm so glad we both decided to give our relationship a second
chance. We were doomed, we were defeated, and we were
going the wrong way. I'm praising God right now for not
letting our destiny be, a dark dungeon of suffering, loneliness
and bitterness.
I'm so glad we both decided that what is good about each
other is better than what we thought was bad about each
other. I'm glad we connected and saw the virtues of Christ.
I‟m glad the fruit of his spirit is abounding and plentiful in
our souls. I'm so glad we didn‟t ring the death knell,
announcing our sadness and our private hell to our friends.
Beloved, we simply look to Christ, saw each other and
forgave each other. We both knew we had to give our love
another go. I love you, and when the light of Christ shines
through you, I love you even more!
Mark

Dear Darling,
Yesterday I was at the fair and I bought you this big pink
Teddy Bear. I‟m a grown man, my faux ego called me stupid,
but a loving spirit is in the air, The Greeks called him Cupid.
I walked all day with that stuffy bear in my arms, endured
friendly ridicule, I‟ve been smitten by your charms.
I want you to keep it close and near, safe in your bed, set it
next to the satin laced pillow, where you rest your head. Pop
the corn and play your girly movies, then grab your bear, I
named him groovy. When you snuggle and pet him, think of
me, I love you so much, my heart is free. In my travels to
Spain, Belize and Japan, don‟t be afraid, Groovy knows
where I am.
I inscribed the words “I Love You” on his chest, and then
sprayed him with my cologne, please sniff, ingest. I thought
he was cute with silly and cotton stuffed ears, I hope you
will keep him for years and years. Black buttoned eyes, cloth
ragged nose and the stitches are perfect making his toes. I
stuffed him with love and paid quite a price, for when it‟s
done with love you don‟t think twice. You are my first love
and it‟s your pure love I miss, so I won‟t be jealous if Groovy
gets a kiss. Everyday with you is like being at that fair, you
got groovy, but I got you, my Love Teddy Bear. Mark

Dear Lady of the Sea,
I‟m glad we planned this cruise,
And made it our “mysterious rendezvous,”
now somewhere on this ship, you must find me.
I will appear only when you feel truly alone,
Or when you need to make love on the open sea.
I will leave notes; I will play the game,
I will be the phantom you need to love you.
I will disappear before you wake and leave an orange rose
On your pillow as a memory of me.
Disguised, I will be at supper, a little to the left of the
Captain‟s chair, just be prepared and save a tango and
the last salsa for me.
Dear Lady of the Sea, this “get-a-
way” is what you need,

The mist of the salt in the air and
the ever forward push as
the wind passes by you.
I will be that wind, I will come
when you least expect and leave as I please.
I see you have been pacing the decks and questioning the
crew. I see you have been tracking and tracing my paths,
peering around and looking through portal doors.
I‟m glad we planed this cruise.
I‟m going to give you so much space, yet I will appear,
I will create the romance of a mysterious rendezvous,
Only when I believe you feel truly alone.
I love you, Dear lady of the Sea.
Mark

Dear Lamby Baby, (A true conversation)
I called to say hello to you in the stupy-woopy voice
that you like to hear.
I missy-wissy you so much!
I luvy-wuvy you. I want to kissy-wissy you.
I want to huggy-wuggy you.
Dear Lamby Baby,
Are you sure you haven‟t told anyone that I
talkie-walkie like this?
You‟re so cutie-wootie and pretty-witty.
I‟m luckie-wuckie to have you in my life!
You make me smiley-wiley when you‟re around,
I feel so giddy-widdy!
Hold on one moment sweetie-weetie
one of my teammates is passing by.
OK Dear Lamby Baby, I‟ll see you after worky-irky.
Please hurry-scurry homey-womey to me.
I luvy-wuvy you! Mark

Dear Sandy Toes,
I watched the ocean‟s waves cover your feet and you didn‟t
move. I watched in a very pleasing way as the sun slowly
covered your body. I watched you yawn, close your eyes and
smile as a distant bell rang beautiful music in the wind; it
was your daytime lullaby. As I looked at you, I thought to
myself, “This is good for me too.” I enjoy seeing you relaxed,
happy and calm.
As I sat next to you, without looking, you laid your hand on
my stomach, maybe in your dreams you needed to know that
I was still there. You stroked my chest, then turned on your
side, safe and comfortable in your slumber.
Dear Sandy Toes, I did think it was funny when that crab
decided to walk up your leg. It was hilarious when you
jumped up from your dreams and screamed “save me!” I still
have the picture of you catching a “horsy ride” on my back.
You played the angles so perfectly. You made me feel so much
like your man. We ran somewhere down an endless beach,
holding hands and kissing from time to time. In closing, I
just wanted to thank you for letting me wipe the sand off of
the back of your thighs. You knew I enjoyed meticulously
removing the tiny grains from your butt. And when you

wiggled, it was as if I went insane! Oh the pleasant pain.
Now it‟s me not the sun, covering your body.
Love Ya! Mark
4 Quick Memos
Hey, it‟s me!
I know and realize that you are the perfect woman for me.
Now that I am 2,000 miles away,
I just can‟t get you out of my head.
I toss and turn when I dream about you.
I‟m praying that an opportunity will arise that will allow
me to be back in your world.
Just say the word, just say anything.
Let me know that you still exist
and I will change my world to exist with you.
Mark

Hey, it‟s me!
I‟m feeling so much better.
I don‟t know if it was your homemade soup,
the logs you placed on the fire
or the warmth of your body lying next to me,
but I am not sick anymore.
Would you be so kind and fly to New York with me?
Let‟s do dinner;
I got a couple of tickets for a Broadway play.
I promise I will have you back home by Sunday.
Mark

Hey it‟s me,
I just had to drop you a note.
The shirt you purchased for me is perfect!
At first I thought it was a sweater, but once I tore the
ribbon away and opened the box, I was very surprised.
I just loved it!
Great color, great collar and the fit was just right.
I‟m at work and I‟m wearing that shirt today.
I can‟t stop thinking about you.
Once again, you have floored me because of who you are.
Mark

Hey it‟s me,
I just wanted to thank you for listening.
I know you were busy.
I really appreciate the minutes you gave me.
So much was going on
and my world was spinning out of control.
Talking to you calmed me down
and I was able to think clearly again.
You have always said that I could call you “anytime”.
I know you really meant it,
thanks again for taking my call.
Mark

Dear Ms. Un-Bribable,
You kissed me and the flavors of chocolate were
unmistakable. The ribbon had been cut and the box of
indulgences lay empty on your bed.
I personally picked every delight. Caramel and Pecans,
Almonds, Dark Chocolates and Coconuts. I knew you
wouldn‟t be able to resist this, my gift to you.
Darling Lady, I thought I knew you like the back of my
hand, so I decided to use so many Confectionaries‟ delights to
drug you. I watched your smile, I watched you get frisky and
down right horny. I figured we would make some good love
and by tomorrow, you wouldn‟t care which way I went.
My plan was flawed in its initial design. I should have
purchased the bigger box, I should have chilled champagne,
and I should have gone for round three when you made love
to me.
Why did the “fellas” have to call? That ringing phone woke
you up and I was caught slipping out the door. I thank you
for the goodbye kiss, you are so unbribable!
Mark

The Essence of You
My goal was to stroke your every emotion, so I went to a rose
garden seeking a flower that would please you. I played with
the shades of the rainbow. I traveled to Amazonian heights
and bathed in „virgin” river streams.
As you know, the journey to your mind has never been simple.
You are a very complex woman. The color that I need to find,
must range from the day you were born.
Should it be pink to tickle you? Should it be red? Should I
put traces of orange and yellow petals near your bed?
My hands are soaked with honey. My dinner has been the
soft and tender strains of delectable sugarcane. Now, with
such sweetness in me and a part of me, I am ready to make
my decision.
Please accept three stems of a full moon, three stems of
sparkling stars and three stems of a glowing sky.
Please accept one sunrise, one sunset and this room full of
Fuchsia roses. This is the color that I have chosen.
After searching my heart, I
believe this color captures the essence of you.
p.s. I sometime find it hard to shut my thoughts off, so I
added just one more note.

I have written these letters so you won‟t forget,
may my words be an aide to your memory.
Life has happened so fast and the years can breed a
devastating germ, you may think that I never loved you.
I have tried to feed your mind,
may my written words be an aide to your memory.
This journal, this dearest of diaries will be my testament
throughout the ages. If one day I happen to be gone, please
read these words I once wrote to you. If one day you wake
up and realize my soul has gone the way of all souls,
I pray that what I have written
will be an aide to your memory.
I have written these letters so you won‟t forget that
this man, loved you with ever fiber of his soul.
And, when this thought goes through your mind,
may my love for you be,
my testament throughout the ages. Mark
