Year 1: Week 5
Me, Myself, I.
On the way to Forest School Dr Collins talked about the dew
on the grass. Dew is made up of droplets of water that form
on grass in the early morning. It only forms when a warm day
is followed by a cool night such like you often in the autumn.
The droplets form from the moist air around the grass leaves
rather than evaporate into the air.
Dr collins
mentioned that if
they were
camping out in
the wild they
could roll in the
dew to wash in
the morning. The
children asked if
they could roll in
the dew!
And they did.
You can see how
wet the suits
were.
Rolling was good fun.
it by feel.
But rolling soon developed into sliding. Jacob slid with style.
Sliding
then
turned into
mass
slides.
The Forest School sessions were shortened because of
the Harvest celebration so we concentrated on
fire safety and knots.
