He was 96. Born in Harlan, Ky., John Landrum spent most of his career in Harrodsburg, Ky. He was owner of Landrum Insurance Agency, Inc. and Springlake Farms. He was a pilot for over 60 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served as a flight instructor during World War II. Later he served as director of transportation for Humana, Inc. In addition to serving on the LWC Board of Trustees, Landrum chaired the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Landmark Association, the Harrodsburg Historical Society, the Harrodsburg First committee, and the Board of Directors of Shakertown of Pleasant Hill, Inc., and Centre College, his alma mater. Landrum and his late wife, Vivian, were active members of Harrodsburg United Methodist Church and served in various leadership roles. Together they supported many Christian organizations in Mercer County. Landrum was a longtime supporter of scholarship aid for Lindsey Wilson students, having established the Vivian Landrum Endowed Scholarship. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, John VanBever Landrum. He is survived by one son, William Bibb (Erin) Landrum III and three grandchildren. 19
