Koch joins
Moustis on Will
County Board
Nuria Mathog, Editor
Frankfort Democrat
Amanda Koch clinched the
second of two spots in the
Will County Board District
2 race on Tuesday, Nov.
6, while incumbent Will
County Board Speaker Jim
Moustis retained his spot on
the board, according to unofficial
counts from the Will
County Clerk’s Office as of
Friday, Nov. 9.
With 100 percent of precincts
reporting, Moustis, a
Frankfort Republican, took
first place in the three-candidate
race, earning 11,061
votes (37.33 percent). Koch,
also from Frankfort, came
in second with 10,218 votes
(34.49 percent).
Keith Ogle, a Republican
and a current trustee on the
Frankfort Village Board, finished
in last place with 8,348
votes (28.18 percent).
“I worked really, really
hard, but I never expected
to win, and I sincerely think
that is why I won — because
I never took it for granted,”
Koch said. “I worked so
hard for this, and I’m really
proud of the campaign that
me and all my volunteers put
together.”
She added she wanted to
thank all of the volunteers
who assisted her with her
campaign and planned to
“get kicking” with her new
position this week.
“I ran my campaign connecting
with voters, and I really
hope that my tenure on
the county board is a continuation
of me connecting with
my constituents and bringing
them in, just like I did in the
campaign,” she said.
Moustis and Ogle were
not immediately available
for comment following the
results of the election.
