Swindon A very popular town for shopping
providing an interesting mix of traditional
shops and designer outlets. The steam
railway museum is here showcasing
the towns past industrial history and by
contrast so is the museum of computing.

Bruges, Belgium This capital of west
Flanders is well known for it cobbled streets,
mediaeval buildings and navigable canals.
There is a large central town square
surrounded by some imposing Flemish
style buildings. Well worth a visit. Passport is
required. This is a long day out.

Torquay Numerous shops, restaurants
and a marina are to be found in this very
popular coastal town. The area is referred
to as the English Riviera and the seemingly
usually milder winter does support the
growth of some palm trees.

Taunton Steam Railway Coach to Bishops
Lydeard then steam train to coast at
Minehead. A delightful trip through lovely
countryside stopping at several tiny stations
on the way. This is one of the longest
preservation railways in the Britain. Spend

architecture for which this city is justly famous.
You could browse around the unique shops,
or if feeling very energetic, take a dip in the
invigorating Roman bath spa!

Stratford & Warwick Birthplace of William
Shakespeare visit his cottage and that
of his wife who was born nearby. Many
attractions in the town including an
amazing butterfl y farm in due season.
Then on to Warwick where this town is
bursting with interesting places to visit.
These include the castle which was built
and occupied by William the Conquerer
almost one thousand years ago. A street
market dates back to medieval times
and there are many very old buildings to
explore or admire.

Cheddar & Wells Cheddar gorge is riddled
with caves a number of which can be
explored. The gorge is regarded as one
of the fi nest natural wonders in Britain. The
nearby city of Wells boasts both attractive
streets and buildings which house many
quaint and interesting shops. The twin
towered cathedral is well worth a visit
and the grounds surrounding it are most
attractive.
