Maintain or improve NABERS energy and<br />
water ratings<br />
Improve energy efficiency across our portfolio<br />
through the increased investment in LED lighting<br />
Continue working towards our 2019 target of<br />
reducing energy consumption and emissions<br />
across our portfolio to 5% below our 2016 baseline<br />
We have maintained or improved NABERS and water rating<br />
on the majority of our assets.<br />
All NABERS decreases are directly attributed to vacancy rate.<br />
We have improved energy efficiency at several assets and increased<br />
investment in LED lighting across our portfolios.<br />
We have met our 2019 energy consumption and emissions<br />
reduction targets and will be reviewing our targets next year.<br />
Future priorities<br />
Waste Management<br />
<strong>–</strong> In order to measure and monitor our waste management processes, we will<br />
commence collecting and disclosing waste data.<br />
Energy, GHG Emissions and Water<br />
<strong>–</strong> <strong>Abacus</strong> is cognisant that creating low impact investments streams can<br />
benefit the environment and investors alike, as such a scoping exercise<br />
is being conducted to assess the feasibility of integrating solar energy<br />
generation across the Australian storage, retail and commercial portfolio<br />
throughout FY19.<br />
<strong>–</strong> Given our renewed strategy of developing, expanding and repositioning assets<br />
for longer term growth, we will seek to maintain or improve overall energy and<br />
water NABERs rating across the office portfolio by investing in initiatives such<br />
as LED lighting, solar energy and other resource reduction opportunities.<br />
<strong>–</strong> To enhance the completeness of our NABERS disclosure, we will commence<br />
collecting and disclosing NABERS data for our retail assets.<br />
<strong>–</strong> To understand our indirect emissions impacts, we will commence collecting,<br />
measuring and disclosing on our Scope 3 emissions for a selection of Scope 3<br />
emissions activities.<br />
