Established in 1978, C&K Architecture is a renowned design practice with a strong and diverse
history in architectural, interior and urban planning disciplines. Located in Melbourne, Australia, the
practice is owned and operated by Directors, Domenic Crisante and Janusz Kowal. Our portfolio of
work, which spans local and international markets, clearly demonstrates our artistry. We have proven
ability in delivering highly acclaimed projects ranging from $3 million to $400 million. Our design
experience crosses multiple industry sectors, delivering iconic projects of varying size and complexity,
specialising in multi-residential, aged care, health, hospitality and commercial sectors.

OUR APPROACH
From the outset it’s important to us that there is confidence in our process and what we do. We treat
every new project as a partnership and take the time needed to fully understand a client’s vision.
Building relationships and trust, and managing expectations, is what we excel at. To us, collaboration

DOMENIC CRISANTE
Managing Director
Domenic is the driving force behind the strategic direction of the practice and is continually
striving for improvement of business operations and implementation of best practice. Domenic
has a strong relation-based approach to client service and dedication to product quality. These
qualities enhance project outcomes, with projects being delivered on budget, within the agreed
timelines with the utmost professionalism and personalised service. Having worked in almost
every product category, Domenic is well placed to lead his dynamic team on the most challenging
architectural projects.
JANUSZ KOWAL
Design Director
Initially trained in Europe and with over 40 years of architectural experience, Janusz has been
involved in the design of iconic buildings in Australia and around the world. He headed up C&K
Architecture’s Dubai based office, managing the practice’s Middle Eastern and Central Asian
architectural and urban design commissions. Coupled with his discerning design ability, Janusz
possesses an excellent understanding of the interactive architect/client relationship. Janusz has
an open-minded attitude towards architecture and views each project as a unique endeavour,
deserving of its own individual concept and design approach. Highly recognised, his work has
been celebrated through a range of publications and nominations for a number of RAIA awards
including finalist for Public Architecture. Janusz loves the opportunity that architecture provides,
to continually work on new projects and across various disciplines.

ADAM GRAHAM
Associate Director
Adam commenced employment with C&K Architecture in 2008.
An energetic and vibrant member of the C&K team, his key
responsibilities include managing studio operations: staff resourcing;
project management; software and training management; OH&S
management.
He has the ability to produce high quality design documentation, with
experience in the health and aged care sectors, retirement living, high
end residential and multi-residential disciplines. Adam has full cycle
project design expertise from sketch and town planning to contract
administration. His ability to manage technically challenging projects
is highly regarded within the organisation.
HELENA BARRIGA
Associate Director
Helena Barriga completed her Bachelor Degree in Architecture in
Colombia 1995 before gaining valuable experience working on a
variety of projects in South America. Helena’s design experience
includes universities, multi-residential and telecommunication
buildings in Colombia, Ecuador and Chile.
Arriving in Australia in 2004, she completed her Masters Degree in
Planning and Design at Melbourne University, working as a tutor in
her second year. Since then she has worked on numerous projects in
the aged care sector nationally ranging from entry level to high end
facilities with a 5 star special services wing. Her diverse experience
extends to child care centres, as well as hospitality and commercial
developments in Vietnam and master planning in China
STUART MARTIN
Associate Director
Stuart is one of C&K Architecture’s most competent architectural
drafting personnel, responsible for the documentation of many
complex and highly demanding projects.
Stuart’s expertise is meticulous detailing in which he combines
performance and utility with constructability and economy of
execution. He has a particular interest in high end projects with
elaborate and/or unique design features.
Also highly skilled in Computer System Technology, Stuart has
been the company’s System Manager since 2010, responsible for
technological appraisal, running and upgrade of all components in
our computer networking system.
