PROVIDING COMPLETE ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS FROM DESIGN TO MANUFACTURE IN ONE EXPERT TEAM

ONE COMPANY
ONE TEAM
ONE OBJECTIVE
As an engineering services provider, our role is to solve your
problems. We are a service company which excels in engineering
design and manufacture.
Magor has built expertise over 50 years of supporting a diverse range of manufacturing
environments. This experience allows you to have the confidence that our seasoned team
has the ability to produce the solution that’s right for you.

We recognise that the pressures of time, resource,
expertise and budget mean you need reliable, cost
effective solutions in sensible time frames.
Our capability to work with you as a partner, managing all aspects of
a project from concept/specification, through design, manufacture,
automation, control systems and installation will save you time and money.
We believe good communications and planning form the back bone to any
project. This ethos enables us to manage your project from the supply of
manufactured parts to complex automation systems.
We are used to working with varied and diverse teams within customers in
addition to other contracting partners and suppliers.
“Magor is a valued partner, consistently meeting our challenges,
providing us with a one stop shop for design, manufacture and
project management of key sub assemblies”.

PAST, PRESENT
AND THE FUTURE
The Past
Founded in 1961, Nidum Precision Tooling supported leading manufacturing operations in South
Wales and across the UK. This legacy is a no-nonsense, practical engineer to engineer approach
focused on getting the job done.
In 2001 we relocated to 10,000 sq feet of customised tool room facilities in Resolven. First class road
links mean we are accessible to clients across the UK. In 2009 following a major upgrade of the premises,
Nidum was joined onsite by sister company Magor Designs.
In summer 2013 – as part of our drive to offer a design led manufacturing solution, Nidum was
integrated into Magor Designs Limited.

“We are in a fast moving sector, often
having to undertake significant capital
investment in new lines to tight schedules.
We enjoy a fast and efficient design and
manufacture service for our tooling
requirements.”
The Present
We employ a team of 35 time served designers and
toolmakers – most with over 15 years of experience. We
continually seek to develop them and the next generation.
We are continually recruiting new Apprentices under the
Jobs Growth Wales Initiative.
Whilst recognised as experts in the automotive sector for
special purpose machines and tooling and gauging, our
experience spans industry sectors from agriculture, through
aerospace, defence, canning, glass, packaging and paper, mining,
oil, gas and petrochemical.
We enjoy effective relationships with a portfolio of world
class manufacturing partners and are a tier 1 or equivalent
supplier with key clients, including Tenneco-Walker, Ford,
Jaguar-Landrover, British Airways, Robert Bosch, Calsonic
Kansei, Senior Technologies, TRW Group and other leading
manufacturing names.
The Future
We are committed to improving and sustaining a centre of design
and engineering excellence - along with associated electrical and
automation capabilities. We have established a robotics lab that
can build, develop and display robotic automation to clients and
partners.
Our commitment is to be a long term partner of quality to you,
our suppliers, employees and our local community.
We continually review our strengths, weaknesses and
competences to ensure that we develop our business to meet
your current and future requirements.
We are proud to make a contribution to the on-going
development and successes of manufacturing in Great
Britain.

OUR
SERVICES
Engineering Design
Honed expertise combined with
the latest 3D design tools enables us
to deliver outstanding design.
For engineering designers, we favour
former toolmakers – experience in
constructing the right outcome brings a
practical edge to our solutions.
We work with AutoCad Inventor
3D, but can translate and present
work compatible with systems
including CATIA, SOLIDWORKS,
IGIS, STEP and PRO ENGINEER.
3D brings solutions to life – speeding
development and sign off processes.
Your project will be assigned to a
specified Designer. Your brief can be
discussed online or face to face – we
can provide a design solution for
manufacture or we will agree a design
and project management programme
to suit you.
Special Purpose Machines
From individual work stations to
complete production lines, we can
create a practical, custom solution for
your requirements from greenfield
builds, modifications & enhancements
to a total refurbishment.
We can provide you with a design and
mechanical outcome and incorporate
electrical and automation solutions.
We work in a cross functional manner
within your organisation and also with
specialist support partners, as each
input is vitally important to ensure a
project ‘is right first time’.
The objective is to enable you to
operate effectively in a sensible time
frame with a practical and pragmatic
solution that’s fit for purpose.
Robotics
Magor is a System Partner to the Kuka
Robot Group. As a pioneer in
robotics and robotic arm technology,
KUKA is one of the leading suppliers
and manufacturers of robotic systems
worldwide.
KUKA offers a unique and wide
range of industrial robots and
robot systems, covering all common
payload categories and robot types.
We can design and build a robotic cell
that is perfectly customized for your
application and industry – or design a
custom robotic system for your unique
needs.
For standard or shelf-mounted
robots and heavy-duty versions,
mounting is possible on the floor or
on the ceiling, making them
multifunctional and flexible.
Due to the modular structure
of KUKA robots, reconfiguration
for other tasks is quick and easy.

“By continually providing sound, good value engineering solutions
combined with consistent and supportive service, Magor has
earned its position as one of our principal suppliers in the UK.”
Electrics & Automation
To support our clients evolving
requirements we have established
robust internal capabilities which
formalise our capability to support you
with a turn-key solution – not just the
design and manufacture of mechanical
parts and assemblies.
Our in house team can support:
The design, manufacture and
installation of Control Systems &
Panels
delivers your complete requirement.
Prototype &
Re-Engineering
Talk to us when your production
requirements are still at concept stage.
We are often met with – “we think we
may have to manufacture something
like this”.
We support:
Refinement of concepts with a
manufacture and assembly
perspective
Project costing and planning.
Design and manufacture of
pre-production tooling, fixtures
and fittings
