The goal of every Mountain Fifes & Drums practice is to teach the same military discipline, leadership, drill, customs and courtesies expected in the Continental Army. Fifes and drums were the chosen instruments for military communications during the American Revolutionary War in which enlisted Continental Army musicians were instrumental in the successful coordination of American forces. Because of these goals, this Colonial Christmas program demonstrates the history of the use of fifes and drums in the Colonial era and their connection to General George Washington. Once you attend this special celebration of Christmas, it will never be the same for you again and this experience will stick happily in your memory forever, or you will want to attend year-after-year, as so many do. The show tickets for the December 9 performance at 6:30 p.m. are available at Coldwell Banker in Blue Jay for only $15 for adults and $10 for those 12 and under.
