MASTER'S DEGREE IN FAMILY, CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE
LAW.
DESCRIPTION OF THE MASTER DEGREE
The accelerated development of science and technology during the last century,
particularly in the second half, has not allowed individuals and society to assimilate the
changes properly. These changes, which certainly have not been linked with the necessary
social development to confront them, generating imbalance conditions and disturbing the
actions of many social institutions, causing substantial changes in the most important
which is the family.
Currently, family laws have been one of the areas that have evolved the most and will
continue to do so. It has gone from family rights to rights in the family in other words from
general to specific. This vision implies that each member of the family has fundamental
rights stated in the National Constitution and International laws. Although family relations
and protection mechanisms are nowadays included in modern societies and incorporated
into legislations, the serious consequences that entails, such as, divorce or family breakup,
that mainly affect children, require more complex approaches that exceed all legal
requirements.

Gradually the concept core family is being rejected in favor of recognition of a huge
variety and diversity of family form. For a long time, family experts (doctors, psychologists,
sociologists, lawyers, etc.) have insisted on the fact that there is only one "healthy family"
way of life: keeping marriage at all costs, forcing parents / husbands to keep their wives
and children, forcing mothers / wives to take care of their children at first place and put
anything else in the background.
