eBooks for Income
The Power Behind eBooks
Have you ever wondered what all the hype is about eBooks? Why are they so popular?
Would you be able to write your own eBook? These are just a few of the questions we will
answer in today’s article.
eBooks are found almost everywhere on the internet. There are even libraries where you
can download free eBooks onto your computer. Many of these eBooks are free because
they are in the public domain, but there are some that have been written specically to
boost advertising.
We are now living in the “information age” where people want to get valuable input quickly
and easily. This is where eBooks lead the way in a world where information is so often
sought after. The contribution of eBooks to the internet marketplace is one of the
forerunning advertisement methods in use today.
How is it used to promote your business?
By oering eBooks to those people who visit your site, you are allowing your visitors to
know a bit more about the product/service you are promoting. By writing on a topic that
you are familiar with you set yourself up as an expert in your particular field.
By using a form to capture your visitor’s names and email addresses you are also building
up your very own opt-in mailing list. Is it any wonder that so many people are using this as
a viral marketing tool?
Perhaps you are wondering how you too can get on the bandwagon of writing eBooks to
help boost the traffic to your website or organization.
Obviously, rst you must write the eBook. What should you write your eBook on? Your
eBook should be based on information that you are already familiar with. Do you have a
particular niche that you would like to promote? Then write according to your expertise.
For example, if you are a dog lover, you could write a book about taking proper care of
canines, or write about a particular type of dog that you are familiar with. It is more
advantageous to write about something concerning your particular market but writing
about a complimentary market could also bring you leads that you can use to boost your
business.
The important point is to get your name out in the public eye of the internet community so
that they will look to you for the expert advice that you can offer.
Page 1

eBooks for Income
What if you cannot write a book? You may have ideas and know what you want to talk
about but you are unable to compose your thoughts in a clear, precise manner. In this
situation, all is not lost. You can hire, usually for a small fee, someone else to write the book
for you. This is called “ghostwriting” and is actually a very common practice.
To hire a ghostwriter it is your responsibility to make sure that he/she knows what it is you
wish to convey in your eBook and they will go about and write the book for you.
You pay them to write the eBook, but it is your name that appears as the author.
Once your book is written it must be converted to either an html le or a .pdf le. This is a
simple process with a .pdf converter. You can get a free converter, rather than paying a big
price.
Now that you have the knowledge, the rest is up to you. The power behind eBooks is the
leverage it will give you in the internet marketplace. Get started today.
eBooks as Part of
Your Internet
Marketing
eBooks have become and inseparable part of the new frontier of cyberspace. They are a
great medium for sharing marketing information, ideas, techniques, and expert knowledge.
Each day the number of people accessing the Internet grows, causing the exposure of your
eBooks to increase incrementally. It’s obvious why electronic self-publishing has become
so popular so quickly.
eBooks can assist small business website owners market their sites and in some cases
even become a source of revenue. Having said that, let’s look at what makes eBooks so
important and so unique.
eBooks have unique characteristics that printed books can’t match. For example, eBooks
are relatively easy to produce and they can be inexpensive to produce. Just think about it:
you don’t need a publisher, an agent, a printing press, oset lm, ink, paper, or even a
distributor. You just need a great concept, the ability to write it or to hire a writer, and the
right software.
eBooks can be easily updated. As information changes, eBooks can be updated without a
second print run. All you need is to go into your original creation and modify the text or
graphics. Because of this flexibility, eBooks can change and grow as fast as you can type.
eBooks are convenient. You don’t have to go to a bookstore or search through endless
titles at an online bookstore. All you have to do is download it from a website, and presto!
It’s on your computer, ready to be read.
eBooks are interactive. This is one of the most unique and specic qualities that eBooks
oer. You can add surveys that need to be lled out, order forms for customers to
purchase your products or goods, sound and video that draw your reader into the virtual
world of your eBook, even direct links to relevant sites that will expand your eBook
outward. The potential is virtually limitless.
eBooks have a particular kind of permanence that other mediums do not possess.
Television shows and radio shows air once, and then may rerun a few times. eBooks
remain on your computer for as long as your choose, and they can be read and reread
whenever you choose to. They can even be printed out and stored on the shelves of your
traditional home library.
Page 3

eBooks for Income
eBooks have very low entrance barriers. You don’t need to go through the endless process
of submitting your manuscript over and over again, and then once you land an agent,
having the agent submit your manuscript over and over again. Nor do you have to shell out
thousands of dollars for printing a self-published book. All eBooks require is a writer and
appropriate software.
eBooks are great for niche content. Ever wanted to nd a book on a highly specic or niche
product? Looking for tips on mouse killing? Good luck nding that in print. The costs are
prohibitive and Bookstores can’t aord the shelf space. But with an eBook, no shelf space
is needed so even the most niche content can find a place on the Internet.
You have creative control over your eBook. You don’t have to compromise with an editor or
the publishing trends of the time. You don’t have to haggle with a designer or wait for
copyedited galleys to arrive by snail mail. You are in complete control of the design and
the text.
If you’re not convinced that eBooks are something you should consider click over to
Google and search for eBooks. At last count there were over 70 million search results.
Something with that kind of Internet presence is not something you want to miss.
Proven Secrets of Writing & Publishing
In their eBook “How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook… In As Little As 7 Days”, Jim
Edwards and Joe Vitale teach you how to adapt a proven eBook writing formula to vastly
improve the performance of your own eBook writing techniques. Instead of re-inventing
the wheel, you are taught how to nd a topic, write about it and produce your own eBook,
sometimes in as little as 7 days, reducing the trial and error sometimes associated with
writing your own eBook.
Of course, we know about eBooks don’t we? You cannot log on without being oered one.
There are various degrees of credibility associated with eBooks from the brilliant
informative eBooks that you hope that you are buying to the downright useless
regurgitated rubbish that you are sometimes duped into buying. Well, we do not want to
go down that route do we? No of course we don’t, we want to produce a well thought out,
well written and informative eBook that not only you will be proud of producing, but also
an eBook that gives people value for money. So, having got that goal established, how do
you even begin to research a subject that everyone is looking for and put it into words in
the form of an eBook?
The authors are arguably two of the best exponents of the written word on the internet.
Their step by step instructions in the “How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook….In As
Little As 7 Days” takes you logically and systematically through the creation process right
through to the nished product. Their track record for writing informative and educational
eBooks and articles, that have helped thousands of internet entrepenuers, is second to
none.
At over 200 pages long, “How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook….In As Little As 7
Days” has alot to oer those who really do not know where to start when writing an eBook.
Of course, even those who are adept at stringing a sentence together will probably nd
something useful in the Book.
“How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook…In As Little As 7 Days” is designed to teach
you:
How to conceive an idea for an eBook that has a market with people willing to pay or it –
either directly or indirectly.
How to write your eBook quickly and concisely in a way that conveys information so that
people can use and implement it quickly.
Take positive action towards selling your eBook online by giving you a road map to start
marketing your eBook on the internet.
The main instructional section is 80 pages in length and lled with informative and
motivational text. So instead of: write a book, look for a market, hope and then give up what
about: identify a niche market, identify needs, wants and problems, write a book that
satises those requirements and then market your book to your niche and make some
money.
Page 5

eBooks for Income
If you think you cannot write, think you do not have anything to say or you do not want to
write a full length eBook, that’s okay, every eventuality is covered to get you to start
writing. I mean let’s face it, how much motivation do you need? I bet if you were oered
$50.000 to write a short eBook you would soon get your pen and paper out!
Of course, there has to be constructive criticism and for me, I get bored with featured
authors who contribute to add a few more pages to the eBook. However, you cannot
dismiss the valuable advice of Yanik Silver, Kevin Donlin or Neil Shearing whose life
experiences are included – with appropriate links to their websites of course! However
irritating these featured articles are (and they will appear in other eBooks as well) they do
provide a valuable in site into how they got to where they are now. Just remember to
concentrate on one thing – writing and publishing an eBook -do not get hijacked by
outgoing links to other sites.
“How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook…..In As Little As 7 Days” is nished o with
bonus reports for accepting credit cards, eBook cover design, web hosting and more. All
designed to get your finished product published and making money.
If you are looking for well written, informative and value for money instructions on how to
write your own eBook, whether you want to write 10 pages or 1000 pages, then I believe
that this eBook does deliver on its promise to get you to write an eBook in as little as 7
days. The only thing it cannot do is write it for you.
Hopefully, the authors will collaborate again in the future to write an eBook that will again
take the mysteries out writing and publishing on the internet.
Page 6

eBooks for Income
Follow These Simple Steps
Let’s begin with the process that should commence before you write your rst word. Begin
by reading A LOT. Read both books you passionately love and books you can’t seem to
make it past page ve. Then gure out what the author did in the book you loved, and what
was wrong with in the book you couldn’t nish. Write down these points so they are crystal
clear to you. Read other people’s books for inspiration and to discover what you should
avoid as a writer.
The next step is to plan out your book. Narrow down your subject, and then divide it into
chapters. Each chapter should address a specic aspect of the problem your book is going
to solve. In each chapter, break the specic aspect down into several parts. This will help
your readers take in your information a bit at a time instead of overwhelming them with
every bit of information clogging up the pages until they feel like they’re about to go blind.
It’s not quite spoon-feeding the information to your readers, but its close.
The next two steps are obvious. Write your book and then revise it. And then revise it again.
And perhaps again. Of course, writing is extremely hard, and writing a book can seem like
an impossible task. There are many books out there that give you guidelines to help you
become familiar – and even love – the process of writing and revision. Find a number of
books about writing. Better yet, nd a number of books about writing the specic type of
book you aspire to write. These can serve as roadmaps on your writing journey.
Once you’ve written your book and revised it at least twice, show it to someone else whose
opinion you respect. If you’re lucky enough to know a good editor, see if you have
something to barter for him or her to go through your manuscript. Or join a writing group
and let the other members critique your work.
Then take all these ideas from other people, and revise your manuscript one last time. And
then stop! Put down that pen! Get your hands off the keyboard!
One of the most important steps to actually producing a book is to know when to stop
writing and tinkering with it.
You’ve nally written your book! Pop open the bubbly! Give yourself a night out on the
town!
Okay, now that this necessary celebration is out of your system, what do you do next?
Page 7

eBooks for Income
eBooks are a revolutionary way to publish your book without incurring the costs of print
production. All you need is a relevant and targeted subject and some inexpensive
software, and you can transform your manuscript into a book.
The problem, in terms of actually seeing any prots from your eBook, is that the market is
overwhelmed with eBooks, and many of them are not worth the time it takes to download
them. Just because the ability exists to easily produce an eBook, doesn’t make it good
writing.
Make sure your book does not simply rehash old material. You will injure your credibility as
an author by claiming to oer valuable new insights and disappointing your audience with
material they’ve read a zillion times before. So spend enough time writing and revising
your book to make sure it’s of the highest quality and presents the most current
information. A good book will eventually sell itself; false claims about your book will make
it extremely difficult to sell any future books you may write.
Assuming you have determined that you do indeed have a quality product that answers
some question or need of your target audience with NEW information, how do you know
how much to charge for it? Rule number 1: Set a price for your book equal to its value. An
under-priced Book will only give the impression that your book isn’t worth very much.
To gure out a fair price, estimate how much time you put into creating it and how dicult
it was to transform the necessary information into understandable and engaging writing.
Figure out how much your time and eort is worth, and then price it accordingly. The goal
is for you to be adequately compensated for your talent, your time, and your effort.
Once you’ve gured out a price that is high enough to convey the value of the book, but
not so high as to be out of the reach of your target audience’s mean budget, then it’s time
to oer it for sale on your website. To attract sales, you will need to develop a promotional
campaign, particularly if you are an unknown author.
There are multitudes of books about self-promotion that will guide you in your eorts.
Choose a plan that is both creative and professional. Learn how to write a catchy yet
informative press release, and send copies of your eBook to sites that specialize in eBook
reviews.
Learn how to write powerful sales copy, or hire someone to write it for you. This is an
essential. You absolutely need excellent sales copy to sell your book. Make sure the copy
includes all the reasons your target audience needs your book, and the benets they will
derive from buying it.
Page 8

eBooks for Income
Use graphics in your promotional materials. Beautiful graphics have the power to instantly
convey the quality and value of your eBook. Graphics can also convey the amount of
valuable information the book contains, and your careful attention to detail. Professional
graphics sell professional books. They reassure the customer that the product is what it
claims to be.
Consider excerpting chapters for articles. You can oer these titbits for free on your
website as a sort of demo of your book. Include an order form for your eBook at the end of
the excerpted articles.
Finally, when you set-up your download link, make sure to simplify the process. It’s a good
idea to offer a few bonuses that make your book even more enticing to purchase, but make
sure the bonuses are valuable and high quality. Too many bonuses that are basically a load
of useless stu will compromise the impression your audience has of your eBook. The goal
is to convey to your audience that they are getting a quality product for a good deal. That
means applying restraint, especially when it comes to adding bonus items. Too much free
stuff offered diminishes your credibility.
Make sure your book is a quality product. Make sure it is relevant and current. Develop an
eective marketing plan that includes excellent sales copy and excerpted articles. Then
offer your Book for sale, and wait for your audience to discover you!
multiple pages that link to each other like website. If you are new to website design, better
you design it in single page.
How To Use eBooks And eBay To Build Your
Mailing List
In this section we’ll look at a very easy to use and cost eective method of getting laser
targeted prospects on your mailing list.
First, let’s quickly re-cap; we learned there that we don’t need to make money from the
initial sale of the eBook in order to profit from the eBook.
Keep this in mind as we go through the following dialogue.
eBay is a site that facilitates bringing buyers and sellers together in a secure and safe
environment, in order to buy and sell a variety of goods and services, either through action
or in a fixed price format.
The preferred payment system used there is Paypal. Paypal is an extremely user friendly
and highly secure service for transferring money over the internet.
Here’s what we do:
1. List the eBook under several dierent categories, choose categories that have a specic
connection to the topic and some that are more loosely connected. For example an eBook
about Internet Marketing could be listed under the category of; Books/internet information
products/marketing; this would be a direct connection. A loosely connected category
might be something like; Everything Else/Education & Learning/Adult & Career
Education/Personal Development/Personal Finances. An easy way to nd suitable
categories is to use the search categories option as you are listing; it gives you
recommendations that you can choose from.
2. We also need to play around with the Heading, using dierent headings for all of our
listings, we should try to include the words and phrases that people will use when
searching most often, and include them in the heading.
Page 12

eBooks for Income
3. List the eBook as a 10 day auction and oer a ‘buy now’ option as well. Be sure to set the
‘buy now’ price at level that covers our fees if we wish to make this a free advertising
campaign.
4 . We need to create a html formatted sales letter. Do this by creating a page in html
composer such as Mozilla or coee cup, or any other composer. Outline all the details
about the Book and what’s in it etc. then at the end of the description add an Auto
responder! That the customers can use to ask for more information about the product. We
must ensure that the redirect page brings the customer back to ebay. This is vital because
ebay has very strict policies regarding links that take people away from their site.
5 . Now we can play around with the sales letter to make it more enticing for people to
enter their details, some of the things we could use are; for a free report, to receive other
oers and updates, for more information and the free edition, etc. we just need to become
creative here.
6. If our eBook sells without getting any prospects, that’s great we have covered our costs
and distributed our links. (see part one of this series) We can go ahead and re-list it, then
start all over again!
That’s all there is to it! It doesn’t take long to set up and once in place, we can easily tweak
the listings and continue this strategy.
It’s not limited only to ebay it’s also possible to use any of the other auction sites available
online today.
Page 13

Marketing Strategies
The key that unlocks the sales potential of your eBook is to nd a single sentence that
becomes your selling handle. This sentence states what question or problem your book
answers and the benets your eBook can provide. Then be sure to use that sentence in
every piece of sales and promotional material, and every time anyone asks you about your
eBook.
Besides promoting your books assiduously online, there are several other strategies that
can help you sell more books.
One is to give something away for free with your book, such as a valuable bonus item. Or
bundle several eBooks under one price, which lowers the price for each eBook if they were
sold separately.
An eective technique for guring out a price is to send out a survey to your current
customers. If these customers have already bought an eBook from you, ask for their
opinion in terms of price. Do this by creating a sales page for the new eBook, but don’t
include a price on that page. Instead, add a number of links to survey questions that ask
pointed questions to aid you in assigning a price to your eBook.
Another strategy is to test out prices by creating a number of duplicate sales pages with
dierent prices on each page. Make sure your sales copy is exactly the same on every
page, and includes your selling-handle sentence. Then gure out for each page the
conversion ratio between visitors to your site and sales of your book. This will tell you what
your optimum price is.
Ultimately, if you’ve written a book that solves a problem or presents a new technique,
your book will bring in both trac and prots. So be sure to write that selling-handle
sentence that sums up what problem your book solves and what the benets of your book
will be to the customers who purchase it. And then watch your market come to you!
Page 14

eBooks for Income
How to Price Your eBook
If you price it too high when compared with your competition, you will nd yourself steadily
lowering the price, which will cause you all kinds of new problems in the future. For
example, if you sell your eBook at rst for $49.99, and later reduce it to $29.95, don’t you
think the people who bought it for $49.99 are going to be a little bit un-happy?
Choosing the right price for your eBook is one of the most critical parts of the marketing
process. The rst rule of pricing eBooks is to never under price. Determine the highest
price your audience can aord, and then if you nd your Book isn’t selling, you can always
reduce the price. Before you take that step, make sure you are promoting your Book like
crazy on the Internet and on websites. The price should be aimed at bringing in prots, but
you should never forget that price is one of the factors that people use in judging the value
of your eBook, before they buy it. So always start with the highest price, and then launch a
mega-marketing campaign.
Pricing an eBook is particularly dicult because eBooks are a fairly new commodity. Since
they are digital, the value of an eBook is as confusing as the understanding of what digital
actually is to the average layperson. This means that we must look at eBooks in a dierent
light in order to determine their actual worth in this brave, new cyber world.
Let’s look at the dierence between a book in print and an eBook. A printed book is an
object you can hold in your hand, store on your bookshelf, even hand down to the next
generation. It is priced on factors such as paper stock, design and production costs, and
marketing.
But the fact that unites eBooks and print books is that they are composed of ideas. It is the
ideas in these Books that have the ability to change, or possibly transform, people’s lives.
What do you think an idea is worth when evaluated against the cost of paper and ink?
It is the IDEAS that are valuable! That is how you determine the cost of your eBook.
What should I charge for my ideas?
There are all dierent formulas and methods for determining the correct price for your
eBook. Let’s begin with honing in on your ultimate goals.
Page 15

eBooks for Income
Decide if your goal is to get wide distribution and maximum exposure. This goal is aimed at
drawing customers to your business or service, or to establishing the credibility of your
reputation. If this is your main goal, you should aim to keep your price on the low side.
Some authors have even priced their eBooks at a prot loss to draw a high number of new
customers. The key is to nd a price that maximizes your prots and the number of Books
you sell.
This is an excellent pricing strategy if you are looking to acquire long-term customers.
Long-term customers are extremely likely to buy from you again and again - as long as the
first eBook they buy is of exceptional quality and beneficial to the customer.
However, if your book contains valuable, and more importantly NEW information,
references, or techniques, then you should aim to price it on the high end.
After you gure out your goal, you must gure out what your audience’s need is for your
eBook. For example, does your book solve a particular problem? If it does, and solves it in a
way that hasn’t been written about in one hundred other eBooks, you will be able to
achieve high sales at a high price. If your book solves a problem or answers questions in a
new and unique way, you should price your book as high as you can go. You will achieve
larger prots this way, but bring in fewer customers. Just make sure the question or
problem that your book solves is one that is important and relevant to the majority of your
market audience. If your ideas are not common knowledge, or you are presenting a brand
new technique, you will be able to sell books at a high price. Just be prepared for your
competition to undercut you on price as son as they hear about your book.
Keep in mind that the above pricing strategy is temporary. Eventually, you will cease to sell
books at this high price. So gure out in advance how long you plan to oer your eBook at
this high price, and when that time is up, change your pricing strategy.
If you want to see large prots over customer draw, aim for an audience that is looking for
easy solutions to their problems at a low price. If your book is aimed at solving one
particular problem rather than general advice, then you can charge more. Start at the
highest price the market will bear to bring in the largest prots, and plan to discount the
book a number of times throughout the year.
