Novembro is a project that was launched in the
fall of 2004. Although over the years have had
different approaches, it is now quite faithful to the
original idea. In the winter of 2001 during the first
eight months stay in León - Spain, following the
study of black and white photograph, appears an
amateur website to expose the material. With this
experience and after comings and goings between
Brazil and Spain, finally mounted Novembro
– a virtual gallery.
The general trend of linking new technologies
with “how easy”, “immediate” and “extended”, do
not think it’s all right. Digital cameras, computers,
internet, etc., have greatly facilitated the production,
lowering costs and increasing the potential for
dissemination of any text, image or sound.
When we looked into perspective this has
happened before. The invention of printing,
photography and recording systems provided
great revolutions. But technique is still required,
work and ideas. The medium is only half
– in itself is empty.

How to put a chord
in an instant, as you
can capture the
energy of a scene
in a photo?
We have now
reached the digital
revolution, the
speed of immediacy
and ease of colors.
House, beers and
cigarettes in hand,
night after night, the
obsessive search for
the closest image,
the “truth” in the form
of attitude.

When I photograph
people, I always try
to make them feel
special – To tell us how
wrong and ridiculous
we are, already be
The power of an image has nothing to do with
technique or lack of it.
The intensity and the resulting interest is about the
need to resist and survive the power of life.

I am not interested
in any way on the
preconceived image.
I am just interested
in the IMAGE when it
somehow transport
us to a kind of idea.

Line up and burning flame.
Fire air line from the bed of the ugly dark girl’s room.
Tracing the veins swell up of passion that fears and cries.
Moss was full marks on the banks of the river that draws the
line that divides the burning sun spider web braid.
Younger that comes from the daily struggle and raw the line of
the fish that falls into the trap of the ship leaving the
harbor and out to sea.
Meat that fill the dish between the candle and the shingle that
crumbles by the moonlight that catch the meal.
Just me and the flame that lights the line of life that rises and burn ...
Design is not making illustrations, space distribution,
set the color, take pictures, or make use of fonts.
Designing even isn’t build objects, planes or rockets
– anyone can does that.
Design is thinking.

Good design is composed for 99% of rationality and
1% of imperfection. In this small part lies the singular,
the emotion and the character.
The difference between something that works and a
failure, is in knowing where the imperfection’s fits –
that is the art.

The truth is that
the more I advance
my studies in the
techniques of “design”
the more I understand
that the real problem
of a project is not
the lack of resources
or budget or time
constraints. The main
problem I have to solve
becomes the client.
Usually I have to
fight for that design
does not become
“infantilized” or
suffer a kind of
“dumbing down”.

A logo is like a person in many ways. Must have
personality and character, must dress well and
mainly have to avoid at all costs to be arrogant.
In a visual identity, everything is the logo. All ideas
and power comes from there. If I have to design
a business card with a bad logo – it’s more work
that entire corporate image.

I was born in Brazil in 1975. Since 2001 I
live in Spain by choice.
I love stories and abhor with the lying, but
for convenience sometimes I accept it.
I hate automatic transmissions and
congestion, the rush and meetings.
I’d rather be with the worst of the best, that
be among the best of the worst.
I have panic to large aircraft and airports, I
do not like middle ground and fled from the
people who are afraid to feel.
