Welcome... 

May we start by taking the opportunity to wish all our customers a very 

Happy New Year and welcome you to another superb season at the 

Princes Theatre. 

This Spring we have a feast of exiting new shows and are pleased to 

welcome back some of your favourites. New for 2019 is ‘Sounds of the 

60s Live’ hosted by iconic DJ and radio presenter Tony Blackburn. Tony will 

take you on a journey through the golden decade of pop music with the 

All Star Band and singers plus some special guests. Join us in March for a 

trip down memory lane with ‘That’s Life – The Frank Sinatra Story’. This 

brand new production celebrates the life and music of one of the greatest 

icons of the 20th century and will include some of Frank’s biggest hits Fly 

Me to the Moon, Come Fly with Me, My Way plus many more. 

For families TV Presenter and host Richard Cadell will bring some magic 

to the theatre with a brand new laugh out loud magic show ‘The Sooty 

Show’ which is sure to be a great treat for the kids and any Sooty fans old 

and new. Be sure to pop along to the meet and greet after the show too. 

Finally in April we have a tribute to the legendary Queen of Rock 

Tina Turner. With a tracklist that spans more than three decades of 

international hits, ‘Totally Tina’ will be ‘Simply the Best’ show that will 

recreate the spectacle and energy of the legend Tina Turner with their six 

piece live band and dancers.

THEATRE ACCESS FUND 

The theatre has been 

overwhelmed with the 

generosity of our customers 

with our new online theatre 

access fund donation. This 

year’s bucket collections and 

online theatre fund donations raised more than 

£2,000. This money will enable more than 500 

children attend our Christmas pantomime Peter Pan. 

This would not be possible without your support and 

for that we are truly thankful. 

You can add a donation at the checkout when 

purchasing tickets or visit the donation page for

com/products/donation. You can also contribute to 

this fund via our bucket collections at the end of the 

shows. This generally starts around September. All 

money raised will help local children attend future 

pantomime productions.

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous 

The popular star of TV’s Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony 

Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums 

and has shared the stage all round the world with international mediums such 

as Colin Fry, James Van Praagh and Lisa Williams. Tony demonstrates his belief 

that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with 

detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations and all

That’s life is a brand new theatre production 

celebrating the life and music of one of the 20th 

centuries greatest icons, Frank Sinatra. 

The authentic show takes you from his first early 

recordings with the big bands, his rise, fall and the 

women, notorious connections and collaborations that 

assured his rise again to international stardom, in a 

spectacular career spanning 70 years. 

Frank Cognoscenti assumes the persona of Frank down 

to the finest detail being a natural body double with 

blue eyes and the uncanny ability to convey the most 

subtle vocal nuance when interpreting the classic torch 

songs and the swagger of the Vegas years - all with a 

dry and mischievous sense of fun honed from years 

of performing the Sinatra songbook to audiences 

worldwide. 

The concert includes a specially arranged collection 

of his biggest hits including I’ve Got You Under My 

Skin, Fly Me to the Moon, Come Fly with Me, My Way 

and New York alongside stunning and captivating 

set piece recreations of other pivotal collaborations, 

tours, TV specials and landmark concerts rarely heard

Please be aware that in addition to Tendring District Council offering a free car park permit 

for every household in the District, the Council is operating Free after 6.00pm parking 

for everyone. All TDC car parks (except The Naze and Holland Haven) are free from 

6.00pm to 8.00am. The High Street car park opposite the Princes Theatre, accessible from 

Carnarvon Road has space for up to 200 cars all evening, ground level only. The car park is 

well lit and also covered by CCTV and regular security patrols.

Tickets for shows are available from the Box Office in the Town 

Hall, Visitor Information Centre. You can visit in person or by 

telephone on 01255 686633 or online at www.princestheatre. 

co.uk. Tickets are also available to buy at the Box Office on 

the night of the performance, but it is always best to phone 

first to be sure. We accept all major credit and debit cards 

except American Express. You can also buy online at www. 

princestheatre.co.uk (subject to booking fee). Doors open 45 

mins before show time (unless stated otherwise). 

ORGANISE A GROUP NIGHT OUT 

Why not organise a group night out for friends and family or 

work colleagues? We can offer group booking discounts at many 

performances and will provide you with publicity and other

DISABLED PEOPLE 

The Princes Theatre aims to be accessible and welcoming to

of DLA/PIP will be required). Please inform the Box Office of

Legends of Irish music & song The FUREYS, renowned for their 

hit songs ‘I will love you’, ‘When you were sweet 16’, ‘The Green 

fields of France’, ‘The old man’, ‘Red rose café’, ‘From Clare to 

here’, ‘Her father didn’t like me anyway’, ‘Leaving Nancy’, ‘Steal 

away’ etc return to the Princes Theatre, Clacton-on-Sea on 

Sunday 10th March 2019. 

The FUREYS have been entertaining audiences worldwide for 

41 years, audiences that have included former Australian Prime 

Minister John Howard, Former Irish President Mary McAleese 

and the late Pope John Paul while Tony Blair has publicly stated 

his favourite peace song of all time is the FUREYS “Green Fields 

of France” and President Michael D Higgins attended their last 

concert in National Concert Hall. 

The FUREYS are responsible for some of the most stirring 

music ever to capture the public imagination. Their folk based 

music has received standing ovations in some of the biggest 

concert halls of the world and they credit their musical ability 

to their parents, Ted and Nora, who were well known musicians 

themselves. They encouraged their sons to play music from 

a very early age and there was live traditional music in 

their house almost nightly. Their emotive songs stir many 

emotions….tears and laughter, sadness and joy. 

A FUREYS concert is always a night to remember

The Greatest Classic Rock Band of a Generation – recently 

inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 

Gordy Marshall played drums with The Moody Blues for 

twenty-five years. Together with Mick Wilson (lead singer of 

10cc for twenty years) they present a super-group of world 

class musicians, singers and songwriters (formerly known as 

Legend of a Band) and meticulously recreate the elegance of 

a Moody Blues Concert. 

In this show, all the classic hits are celebrated, including 

Nights in White Satin, Go Now, Tuesday Afternoon, Legend 

of a Mind (Timothy Leary’s Dead), I Know You’re Out There 

Somewhere, Question, Isn’t Life Strange plus Forever Autumn

SEATING LAYOUT 

After listening to numerous constructive customer 

comments, the Princes Theatre’s management have 

evaluated how the layout of the stalls area can be modified 

to better accommodate everyone, whilst taking into 

consideration the needs of wheelchair users and those with 

various mobility issues. 

With the advent of motorised wheelchairs over recent 

years the length and width have increased considerably, 

meaning the old seating layout is no longer able to 

comfortably accommodate as many spaces. Customers 

have also demonstrated the need for more aisle seats 

STAGE 

which was another key criteria in the redesign process. 

Here at the Princes Theatre we realise that this change will 

directly affect our valued customers so we feel it only fair 

that we should have consultation sessions where we can 

create the proposed layout, open our doors, put the kettle 

on and listen to any feedback.
