Lake Bluff man charged with speeding, drug possession<br />
Daniel A. Gomes, 18, of<br />
the 1-100 block of Heathrow<br />
Court in Lake Bluff,<br />
was charged with speeding<br />
57 mph in a posted 45 mph<br />
speed zone and disobeying<br />
a traffic control device,<br />
and Eric P. White, 18, of<br />
Waukegan, was charged<br />
with possession of cannabis<br />
and possession of drug<br />
paraphernalia at 12:18<br />

Officers on patrol observed<br />
a blue Volkswagen<br />
speeding southbound on<br />
Waukegan Road near Everett<br />
Road. Police conducted<br />
a traffic stop on the vehicle<br />
and spoke to the driver,<br />
identified as Gomes, about<br />
his driving. Officers immediately<br />
smelled the<br />
odor of cannabis coming<br />
from the vehicle and observed<br />
loose cannabis in<br />
the car and on the jacket<br />
of the passenger, identified<br />
as White. White was later<br />
found in possession of a<br />
small amount of cannabis<br />
and drug paraphernalia.<br />

Dec. 2:<br />
• Thomas C. Burns, 55, of<br />
the 1300 block of N. Western<br />
Avenue in Lake Forest,<br />
was charged with driving<br />
with a suspended driver’s<br />
license at 9:28 p.m. in the<br />
1300 block of N. Western<br />
Avenue. Police officers patrolling<br />
the area conducted<br />
a traffic stop on a maroon<br />
van after determining the<br />
registered owner of the vehicle,<br />
identified as Burns’,<br />
driver’s license was suspended.<br />
Officers spoke<br />
with the driver, and verified<br />
his license was suspended<br />
at the time of the<br />
traffic stop.<br />
