BMW X1 Series, which, he affirms, blends beauty and performance
The X1 series of BMW is known
as the sensible family car sans the
tough looks of X3 and X5 series.
This new series is also bigger in
comparison to the X2 series. Having
4439 mm length, 2060 mm width
and 1598 mm height, X1 series is 79
mm longer than X2. With well-crafted
interior and an overall premium
look, this one appears rather sleek
and pretty.

Hospital, Kochi is more than willing
to vouch for both its beauty
and performance. “I had a Skoda
before I decided to go for a luxury
vehicle. From the very beginning I
had in mind three major German
car brands. Out of the three, I felt
BMW provided the most responsive
driving experience. When I was test
driving, this was the car that gave
me the most positive feedbacks.
And so, here is my first luxury car,”
says Dr. Tharun who purchased the
vehicle from BMW Platino Classic
at Marad in Kochi in September,
2018.

Dr. Tharun to reach his workplace
from home, and that too along one
of the busiest roads in Ernakulam.
“I stay at Edappally and work at
Rajagiri Hospital in Aluva and the
commute itself takes a good part of
time in my daily life. After I started
using the new vehicle I found that I
could easily cruise along the stretch
despite heavy traffic without causing
much strain to my hands. By driving
on the economic mode one can
decrease the fuel consumption as
well. All this is good for the Kochi
traffic where you spend a considerable
amount of time in the car even
if it for a few kilometres. I also took
the vehicle for a long drive. Though
I didn’t go at full throttle I realised
that one could easily manoeuvre this
vehicle on long drives. Overtaking
can be done with
ease. On a scale of 10, I would give
the comfort level in this car a big 9.”
Speaking about some of the
features he loves about his BMW
X1 series xLine variant, Dr. Tharun
says, “First and foremost, the overall
driving experience is really great.
The best part is that you can store
everything electronically in the car.
From the preferred seat position to
the temperature that you want to
maintain in the car can be stored.
Everything is adjusted for you the
moment you get into the car. Safety
features of this vehicle is yet another
aspect that impressed me the most.”
Dr. Tharun credits the team at
Platino for their prompt response
which again, according to him,
played a major role in his decision to
go forward and purchase the vehicle.
“This is my fourth car and I
found that they are the most
approachable franchise
you can get. A group
of very hard working
people who are very
positive. They do the
follow-ups regularly
and make sure
that you get all your
doubts cleared. Their
after-sales service is
also excellent,” Dr.
