This group is incredibly fun and constantly a surprise! They<br />
always bring new things to talk about. It’s a class that will easily<br />
have a good laugh together whenever one makes a joke or we<br />
start playing games. After all of the studying they will still be<br />
talking in English out of the classroom. It’s great to see the<br />
friendship that the class has formed and its has helped them<br />
grow, not just as teens, but as English speakers!!

Hi, I'm Caio. I'm 13 years old and I'm studying at<br />
<strong>Focus</strong> for more than 3 years. Something that I really<br />
like to do is to listen to music, read books and play<br />
video games. My favorite bands are Queens and<br />
Imagine Dragons. About the books, my favorite ones<br />
areThe Harry potter's books and the last book I read<br />
was the Fantastic Beast and where to find them.<br />
There's a bunch of games that I like to play, CS: GO,<br />
Raft, Sabnautica...but my favorite one is Rocket<br />
League. The students are hilarious , I like to have<br />
class with them, they're funny and cool. It would be<br />
really sad if I couldn't have class with Gabriel and<br />
Artur anymore. Our teacher Spencer is the best<br />
teacher, well Imean, every teacher in this English<br />
course are cool, but he is the coolest geek guy. He<br />
always teaches me something cool and helps me with<br />
science and history.

Campo dos Goytacazes. When I was 8 months old, I moved to Volta<br />
Redonda. I'm tall, I have straight brown hair, I wear glasses. I live<br />
with my mother, Gabriela and my father Felipe. I have a dog named<br />
Maggie, she's a Shih Tzu. I study at Garra and I'm in the nineth<br />
grade. I like playing video games , eating and being with my friends. I<br />
also love animals and genetics. I like basketball but I hate soccer. I<br />
think that playing video games with my friends is the best thing in the<br />

Hi. My name's Frederico, I am fifteen years old. I<br />
have a brother and a sister. My brother's name is<br />
Guilherme and my sister's name is Marcella. I<br />
live in Volta Redonda. It's a small city. I study in<br />
Rosario in the first year. I like sports, my<br />
favorite sport is basketball and my favorite<br />
player is Lebron James. He plays for the Los<br />

ARTUR FERES<br />
Artur Feres has been our student since 2016 and we’ve<br />
had the honor to see him go from a shy boy who feared<br />
speaking English to speaking fluently with everyone he<br />
meets. This last year he has developed his speaking<br />
skills so much through things the he likes. He’s into<br />
sports but his favorite sport is basketball. He also loves<br />
video games and Harry Potter. Studying with Caio and<br />
Gabriel has been such a great adventure because all<br />
three talk a lot in English and love their class with<br />
Teacher Spencer. We are so proud of this group, but<br />
specially of Artur for accepting the challenge to go to a<br />
more advanced group and developing so well.
THE YEAR<br />
MELL PIRES<br />
Mell started studying at <strong>Focus</strong> in 2012 when the course<br />
was just beginning. She is our first kids’ student and we<br />
are so proud to have seen her grown up and matured<br />
throughout all these years. She started off as a very<br />
quiet and shy student and recently went on her first<br />
exchange program in California at 15. What makes me<br />
so proud is that when arriving in Cali she was placed in<br />
the most advanced level at the course. Besides that, she<br />
traveled on her own without her parents and did so well<br />
on her trip. With her English level she has independence<br />
and is ready for a brilliant future. This comes to show<br />
that fluency is a matter of liking the language and the<br />
world it opens.
When I<br />
grow up<br />
It’s always fun to ask our kids and teens what<br />
they want to be when they grow up. We got<br />
such a high range of answers from ninja to<br />
sheriff. It was hilarious! It’s so cute to see how<br />
we teach dreamers and that their dreams can<br />
come true with a lot of work and dedication.<br />
We are so proud that their on they’re way to<br />
achieve their dream of speaking in English<br />
and conquering the world!!!

we will invest even more in our kids and teen classes. We have<br />
to say thank you for the parents who believe in our work and<br />
know how their children are cared for and that their investment<br />
will pay off. We look forward to 2019 and that great things are<br />
coming. It excites us and motivates us when we see how our<br />
students have grown in <strong>2018</strong> and we know that this is just a<br />
