Receives CVMC
Auxilian of the
Year Award
Theresa Lever was named
2018 Auxilian of the Year by
the Central Vermont Medical
Center Auxiliary in recognition
of her continued work in
supporting cancer patients.
“Our honoree for this year
loves to sing,” said Marilyn
White, President of the
CVMC Auxiliary. “She loves
to help others and is very
involved in the hospital and
the community.”
Theresa works as a patient
navigator at the National Life
Cancer Treatment Center.
Theresa started a cancer support
group called Alive with
Song and sings in the Bethany
Church Choir. She also coordinates
and helps raise money
for CVMC’s Branches of
Hope cancer patient fund.
The fund provides financial
relief to individuals and their
families dealing with cancer
by helping with both routine
and unexpected expenses.
The CVMC Auxiliary was
created in 1968 when Heaton
Hospital in Montpelier and
Barre City Hospital came
together to form one hospital
now known as Central
Vermont Medical Center.
Since its inception, this group
of committed volunteers has
raised more than $1 million
for CVMC.
Its mission is “to make a
visible impact on our community’s
education and wellness
in partnership with
CVMC by selecting, promoting
and supporting projects
that meet both CVMC and
community needs.”

St. Lawrence University,
which holds NCPR’s broadcast
license, has initiated a

leadership search firm.

Montpelier Alive and Magic Hat Team Up for Art Walk
Montpelier Alive is pleased to announce that Magic Hat
Brewing has signed on as the presenting sponsor of Art Walk
in 2019. The quarterly event, now known as “Montpelier
Alive’s Art Walk, presented by Magic Hat,” is a showcase of
the work of central Vermont artists at dozens of venues across
Montpelier. With Magic Hat’s support, Montpelier Alive
plans to expand Art Walk to five dates in 2019 and to grow the
event to include more art and music programming.
“Magic Hat was named one of the Ten Best Businesses
Partnering with the Arts in America in 2017, and their commitment
to Art Walk shows why,” said Dan Groberg,
Executive Director of Montpelier Alive. “We are grateful for
their support of Art Walk and of the arts in central Vermont.”
Each Art Walk will feature a pop-up event hosted by Magic
Hat. On Friday, February 1 from 5-8pm, Magic Hat will host
an event at 43 State Street in Montpelier (former home of
Asiana House). Four Vermont artists will paint live, alongside
live music by Eric George and a Magic Hat Bar featuring

a silent auction, and half the proceeds will benefit Montpelier
Alive.
The public is invited to start at any participating Art Walk
venue, indicated by a sign and listed in the Art Walk guidebook,
which is available online and at participating venues.
Many venues will have the artist in attendance and refreshments
for art viewers, Art Walk will take place on Friday,
February 1, Friday May 3, Thursday, June 6, Friday, September
6, and Friday, December 6 in 2019. For more information,
