<strong>JMP</strong> Foodservice<br />
opens selling eggs<br />
in the 1940s by<br />
James Metcalfe<br />
Pratt, at Birks Mill,<br />
Sedbergh.<br />
His son, Denis Pratt joined<br />
the business in the 1960s,<br />
where they started stocking<br />
frozen products and he is<br />
still part of the company<br />
today, with his daughters<br />
Anne Benville & Jill<br />
Fearnhead.<br />
<strong>JMP</strong> Foodservice<br />
stopped focussing<br />
on eggs in 1988 to<br />
focus on the frozen<br />
food sector.<br />
Sales Director, Shaun Atherton joined in 1978.<br />

joined Fairway in<br />
1988.<br />
In 2003 we<br />
introduced Ambient,<br />
Chilled, Cleaning<br />
& Disposable<br />
products.<br />
We were finalists at the Cumbria Family Business<br />
Awards in 2017.<br />
<strong>JMP</strong> Foodservice currently lists over 3500<br />
products and employs 40 people in the<br />
warehouse, drivers, office team and area sales<br />
managers.<br />
We changed the<br />
wagons from green<br />
to white cabs.<br />
In 2017 the office<br />
building was<br />
renovated.<br />
Today <strong>JMP</strong> Foodservice consists of three<br />
purpose built cold stores and has 14 wagons<br />
and 2 vans delivering within a 80 mile radius of<br />
the depot, to Scotland, Cumbria, Yorkshire and<br />
Lancashire.<br />
In July 2018 we<br />
rebranded our<br />
logo and bought<br />
a new wagon.<br />

INGREDIENTS<br />
• 675g Frozen Peas<br />
• 75g Onion - Diced<br />
• 75g Leeks - washed & sliced<br />
• 24 Medium Size Mint Leaves + 8 sprigs for garnish<br />
• 3 Cloves of Garlic - crushed<br />
• 3 Bay Leaves<br />
• 25g Bisto Vegetable Bouillon<br />
• 1000ml Water<br />
METHOD<br />
1. Place the peas, onion, leek, mint, garlic and bay leaves<br />
into a large saucepan, add the water & bouillon paste<br />
2. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the<br />
vegetables are cooked.<br />
3. Remove the bay leaves and strain the liquid into a clean<br />
saucepan. Place all the vegetables into a food processor<br />
and mix to a smooth puree, add the puree to the liquid.<br />
