The Academic Success Program
(ASP) is a comprehensive college
access provider for more than
16,000 students across 17 high
schools throughout the Dallas
area.
We focus on serving first-generation
students in underresourced Dallas
communities and connecting
them with opportunities to attend
universities that are committed to
meeting 100% of their financial need
and ensuring they graduate on time.
At the core of this nationally
recognized, award-winning program is
the ASP College Advisor, an expert in
all things college, who directs the ASP
program at our partner high school
campuses on a full-time basis. ASP
College Advisors serve as mentors
and role models by providing our
students and their families with
one-on-one college guidance, college
essay assistance, and financial aid
workshops.

THE ASP MODEL
ASP College Advisors occupy a dedicated space in each partner high school, creating a center for
all things college. Our advisors have access to highly motivated students in Dallas throughout
their senior year and will host more than 34,000 personalized advising sessions across the entire
district. This level of engagement and college promotion fuels our college partnerships and
ensures successful college placements and persistence through graduation.
How does this model benefit our higher education partners? Colleges and universities that partner
with ASP are able to work directly with ASP College Advisors to engage our seniors. We will
ensure that your staff will be able to visit students in our partner high schools. ASP is adept at
facilitating high quality college campus visits with partners to further support the idea of “fit” with
prospective students that are being advised through our program. And we offer ASP partners the
chance to conduct sessions with our juniors in the spring as they are in the early stages of building
their college lists.
ASP has enjoyed tremendous success with this model. Students who would not have otherwise
considered going to college now attend top-tier universities with 100% of their financial need
met. During ASP’s 20-year history, ASP students have been accepted to highly selective including
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Babson, Caltech, MIT, Duke, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, NYU,
Wellesley, Boston College, Brandeis, Bowdoin, Colgate, the University of Texas, and Texas A&M.
Each ASP high school has garnered an average of $4.1 million in scholarships and financial aid
each year.
