DUBAI: Emirates has named 10 UAE<br />

nationals to key commercial positions<br />

in the Middle East, GCC and Africa as<br />

part of its long-term commercial<br />

strategy and offer across those regions.<br />

All of the appointments bring Emirati<br />

talent into key leadership positions,<br />

either being promoted from within the<br />

organization or through portfolio<br />

rotations, underpinning the airline's<br />

commit-ment to career development<br />

and progression of its UAE Nationals.<br />

Highlighting the importance of the<br />

new appointments to support<br />

Emirates' efforts to strengthen its<br />

business in the Middle East and Africa,<br />

Thierry Antinori, Emirates' Executive<br />

Vice President and Chief Commercial<br />

Officer said: “As we continue to<br />

develop our operations in the Middle<br />

East, GCC & Africa, the unique<br />

backgrounds, experience & skills of<br />

each newly appointed member of our<br />

commercial team will further<br />

strengthen our commercial & business<br />

operations & drive our strategic<br />

initiatives in a new year of growth.”<br />

“Their experience will also be<br />

instrumental as we focus on executing<br />

many of our commercial initiatives to<br />

pursue revenue opportunities, improve<br />

margin performance, as well as capture<br />

new consumer segments,” he added.<br />

The 48-year-old who gained<br />

extensive management experience in<br />

v a r i o u s f u n c t i o n s w i t h i n t h e<br />

Lufthansa Group and in own<br />

companies succeeds Andreas Vetter,<br />

who took over the vacant COO<br />

position on an interim basis.<br />

Krosch holds a diploma in business<br />

informatics and has held various<br />

m a n a g e m e n t p o s i t i o n s a t<br />

time:matters GmbH since May 2009.<br />
