PTO raises funds for
It’s a tale as old as time.
Fathers and daughters
come together for a special
night of dancing, music
and games to create lasting
memories and live happily
ever after.
The Goodings Grove PTO
embraced a “Beauty and the
Beast” theme for its annual
Daddy Daughter Dance, inviting
attendees to “be their
guest” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
on Friday, Feb. 8. Along with
participating in everything
from two-steps to waltzes,
fathers and their girls were
treated to craft stations, refreshments,
photo souvenirs
and a visit from two very
special guests, Belle and The
Beast, who sang the “Theme
from Beauty and the Beast”
before leading everyone in a
slow dance.
“We are super excited
about our Be Our Guest
event tonight. We don’t see
the dads all the time. We
always see the moms volunteering,
so it’s really nice
to see the dads with their
daughters,” said Goodings
Grove PTO President Amy
Wiggins, noting that some
fathers also invited their
nieces or family friends,
whose own fathers could not
attend, to join in on the fun.
First-grader Stephanie
Harbin, 6, was very excited
about experiencing her first
ever Daddy Daughter Dance
with her father, Chris, and
getting to “see my friends
with their daddies.” Her
mom and aunt helped her get
ready, and her dad bought
her a flower corsage for the
