with Julia Martinez
The Loyola senior recently
entered the top 10 in
career assists in Illinois
state history.
Do you have any
superstitions before,
during or after a
game?
A superstition I have is
that at exactly 1 minute
and 3 seconds left of warm
ups, I have to be the first to
lead my team off the floor
and high five my coaches.
What’s one item on
your bucket list?
One thing on my bucket
list is to visit every state in
the U.S., I’ve already been
to 37 states.
If you could travel
anywhere in the
world, where would it
be and why?
I would go to Bora Bora
because I love swimming
and all the activities to do
with water.
What’s the best part
about being a Loyola
athlete?
The best part being a
Loyola athlete are the
people around me who
support me and encourage
me to be the best version
of myself both on and off
the court.
What’s the best advice
you’ve ever gotten
and who was it from?
“Your energy introduces
you before you do.” My
mom would always tell
me that in so many words
when I was younger.
If you could play
a sport other than
basketball and
volleyball, what would
it be?
I would want to play lacrosse.
What’s one of your
pet peeves?
One of my pet peeves is
when people eat my food
without asking.
If you won a million
dollars in the lottery,
22nd Century Media File Photo
what would you do
with it?
I would save most of
my money, donate some to
Loyola Academy as well
as other charities, and of
course go shopping.
What’s one of your
guilty pleasures?
Getting massages is my
guilty pleasure.
What’s the biggest
difference between
volleyball and
basketball?
The biggest difference
is the vibe. Volleyball is
more upbeat and energetic,
while basketball is much
more serious and physical.
