AWAKEING FROM PLANETARY DREAM

In this first trilogy the author try to transmit in the simplest possible terms one of the most burning and elusive aspects of spiritual research: the Awakening. Despite the delicacy of the contents treated, the author uses a language accessible to all without for this to distort or sacrifice the essence and depth of the teaching transmitted. In addition to accessibility, another strong point of this work is pragmatism: most of the chapters are accompanied by concrete examples, practical hints, diagrams, figures and illustrations aimed at simplifying the topics covered. The author therefore seeks to fill those gaps due precisely to the lack of concreteness and the ambiguity of some teachings related to spirituality or simple personal growth. In Short, although this reading requires a minimum of dedication on the part of the reader, nothing forbids a person who has not undertaken any spiritual path to engage in self-liberation from the spells of his own Mind, waking up from collective hypnosis and – why not – achieving awakening from the Planetary dream.

NOTICE TO READERS
Some – if not all – the ideas in this book may be indigestible,
incomprehensible or unacceptable, especially if this is the first time you've
dealt with these kinds of topics. In this case I do not ask you to accept
these ideas uncritically because this would be against the purpose of this
volume, which is precisely to make you free from any idea, thought or
prejudice. However, it could be equally counterproductive to reject any
idea that your intellect considers controversial, unlikely, shocking or
unacceptable. For this reason I invite you to maintain an open, sincere and
possibly disinterested attitude towards these contents. Read without too
many expectations, without taking on the personal observations that are
made. Just have a minimum of confidence in these teachings, so that
understanding can occur spontaneously, without frenzy and without
unnecessary intellectual resistance. Last detail: taking into account that
there are about forty lessons I suggest you to dedicate one or two a day.
A monk in seeing the resplendent and peaceful aura emanating from
the Buddha and questioned him about his identity:
Monk – Who are you? Are you a deity by chance?
Buddha – No, monk, I'm not a deity.
Monk – So are you an angel?
Buddha – No.
Monk – So you're a Guru?!
Buddha – No, I'm not even a Guru.
Monk – So what are you?
Buddha – I am AWAKE!
PREFACE
This book was born as a game from an improvised Awakening course within a
Facebook group called "Awakening from the collective dream of humanity".
The group I was following was not there to mess with selfies, but had expressed a
precise need in response to which I offered some work.
In your case, what do I want to convey to you with this book?
If I were to be pedantic I would say that there can be no transmission because
everything is already in you.
From an extremely wide point of view, no initiatory transmission from lineage to
lineage has ever taken place, no passage of sacred energy from Teacher to
disciple.
However, if I had to transmit only one feeling I would opt for 'infinite lightness'.
If I had to choose a concept I would say 'nothing'.
In short, I would like to convey to you the infinite lightness of nothingness.
Will you have the strength to support it?
We'll see...
One of the goals of the book will be to direct you towards slight and significant
variations in your way of perceiving and conceiving yourself, the world, dreams,
Reality.
For some of you, a chapter may require a few more in–depth readings, one lesson
may be more significant than another, one exercise may be more effective than
another.
7

Remember that the problem is not finding the answers (those are sold or given
away by truth dispensers). The problem is to tackle THE RESPONSE, which –
believe it or not – is the same for everyone (humans, aliens, angels, demons). That
true answer – which is not verbal or written – destroys all the questions, cleans up
all the concepts that fill your head.
The other answers (philosophical, scientific or metaphysical explanations)
circumvent or cover that one answer. They are utilized to procrastinate the
encounter with you, the truth, the Reality, the silence, the ultimate answer (which
will not be a usual answer but the end of asking and answering).
You can not hide behind your intellect forever and continually postpone the
meeting with yourself, the meeting with the Truth!
In the end, when the meeting with your true Self takes place, the following
questions will disappear:
"What happens after death? – What is the soul? – Does God shave with Occam's
razor? "
There will be only questions like 'where did I put the keys?'.
When you wake up from the daydream, that is from your daily reality, you will
feel like adults too mature to continue to pretend to believe in fairy tales.
Humanity will appear to you as a multitude of childish dreamers, devoid of
lucidity, ie without real awareness.
Upon awakening from nocturnal dreams the contents of the dream world
(experiences, people, circumstances) lose all value. The same thing will happen
8

with the Awakening from the daydream in which you are immersed in this precise
moment.
The everyday world will cease to enchant you, arouse interest, drag you, put you
under pressure, bewitch you.
You will not be disturbed or brought into play by the sensory deceptions of your
body.
When you wake up, you will forget all the nuisances that now seem
insurmountable obstacles. You will not be spoiled by futility, you will not
entertain useless and inconclusive activities, you will no longer listen to the lies of
your own cognitive system, you will recognize the true nature of yourself.
In other words, you will no longer take the day–dream for Reality.
At the end you will find yourself at a crossroads:
1 – To Awake yourself definitely from any mental, sensory, dreamlike,
holographic, terrestrial, extraterrestrial projection.
2 – Or add layers on layers, cross over mental impressions on sensory, moral,
social, spiritual impressions ... persist in daydreaming, chasing the soul mate who
completes you, the Master who will light up your mind, the work that meets your
insatiable ambitions; continue to pretend to self–improve a self that does not exist,
to reinforce a fake identity with ecstatic rituals, devotional practices, mystical
raids, shamanic journeys, astral projections.
9

WHAT IS THE AWAKENING?
To explain the concept of Awakening, I will use the analogy of the fisher mind.
Imagine a fisherman intent on capturing his prey with the help of two nets, a
coarse mesh and a thin net.
When the fisherman throws his first net, he will catch only those fish that are big
enough that they can not escape through the big cracks of that net, while the
smaller fish will pass through them.
When that fisherman launches the second net, the one with a thicker and thin weft,
he will succeed in capturing the smallest fish, but he will never be able to capture
the water!
The fisherman represents the mind that wants to capture the meaning of these
teachings, the essence, the truth.
The largest network represents the sensory organs, which can capture only the
grossest data of everyday experience.
The thinner network represents the ordinary intellect, which can capture the most
subtle experiences but can never capture the essence, the truth of those
experiences.
Water is the essence that eludes both networks, Reality, Pure Consciousness, your
true identity, what you really are.
Once we clarify the terms of comparison, we expand the metaphor. Imagine that
the fisherman (your mind and body) wants to capture not only fish but also all the
10

ocean. This venture will obviously be impossible because the ocean is immensely
larger than any container that can be used by the fisherman (mind, body). Despite
the impossibility of the enterprise, the fisherman–mind–body is so stubborn as to
waste all his energies in this attempt. Only after numerous failed attempts will the
fisherman–mind–body stop and surrender. At that moment of peaceful (not
desperate) abandonment the final understanding can take place. This definitive
understanding can only take place when your mind stops projecting and nurturing
its illusory claims. That is the ideal moment when Awakening can occur!
Now do you understand why you can not grasp the truth (water) by remaining
attached to your intellect (thin network) or to the ordinary perception of the bodily
senses (coarse network)?
You have been conditioned to believe that the fisherman (mind and body) is able
to capture yourself. And every attempt will obviously prove to be a failure. Such
attempts will always be unsuccessful for the simple reason that you are neither
small fish nor big fish, you are the same water that escapes any network of
thoughts, concepts, words, sensations, experiences. Your authentic nature
escapes all the networks of the mind and sensory.
Beyond all this, why should you capture yourself?
When you stop identifying with the ordinary mind you will understand the
absurdity of this attitude. You will realize that this fallacious attitude is
continually repeated in all areas of human society, even in the spiritual realm.
To achieve that realization, to the understanding that it is not necessary and
anyway is impossibile to capture oneself, the ordinary consciousness must first
stop behaving like something that is not (the mind–fisherman); must realize that it
does not need to capture itself – the essence, the Truth, the Reality – with words,
thoughts, physical sensations, external approval, social confirmations, rituals and
spiritual practices.
11

Awakening represents the authentic realization, that is, the pure and direct
recognition, that you are not that fisherman–mind–body, you are not what you
believe to be. When the consciousness awakens to itself, it realizes that that
fisherman–mind–body, the act of throwing the net and the net itself were part of a
magnificent dream, inside which the conscience had dived and had perfectly
simulated all those experiences.
At Awakening this consciousness could 'metaphorically' hear a voice – the inner
truth – that tells her "Hey, you've always been awakened!"
This message can not be understood by the part of you identified with the contents
of the dream you are experiencing in this dimension, in this world!
To understand better, imagine that tonight, while you dream, a voice whispers
"Hey, look, you IN REALITY DO NOT FIND YOU IN THE DREAM, YOUR
REAL BODY IS NOT POSSIBLE IN THIS WORLD!".
Behold, the Awakening from the planetary dream is the realization that your true
identity is not really found in this world, just like every night you never find
yourself in those worlds!
When you look with the eyes of the sleeping conscience it may seem that you are
in some 'outer and separate' world, but in reality you are never in any world!
YOU ARE NOT IN ANY WORLD!
NEVER!
12

This in extreme synthesis is what the voice of truth will make you understand (not
verbally) when you wake up from the collective dream. It is as if he were saying
to you: "Hey, there was no revival, no liberation, because in reality you were, you
are and you will always be free and awakened!"
If you can look at this whole story of Awakening in this light, you understand that
in truth there is not to be a special event, an experience, a special effect that
confirms your Awakening: this special effect may seem necessary only to
ordinary consciousness , asleep and totally identified with the stories of the dream;
it is this sleeping part of you that "believes" that it is necessary to reach the goal of
Awakening or that it is necessary to identify the signs of recognition of one's self–
realization.
This part of you is the same part that every night believes in the need to reach
the goals of the dream, to fight the enemies of the dream, to seduce the
characters of the dream, to prove to be more 'Awakened' than the other
dreamers.
The lucid part of you knows that all this is not necessary: you know that no
one can or should show the signs of their own Awakening within the dream.
When you recognize the true nature of the world you realize that it no longer
makes sense to reason in terms of miracles, siddhis, super–powers, paranormal
abilities, spiritual experiences, hells or heavens.
These distinctions are made only in the absence of the recognition of collective
hypnosis, ie in a state of total enchantment.
Awakening simply breaks that spell that causes consciousness to remain addicted
to appearances.
13

THE CONDITION OF AWAKENING IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE BECAUSE
IT IS PART OF YOUR REAL NATURE.
THE AWAKENING CONDITION IS ETERNAL, ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE,
PRESENT ... EVEN WHILE DREAMING, EVEN WHILE YOU BELIEVE NOT
TO BE AWAKENED, EVEN WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN THE ONE OF THE
INFINITE WORLDS OR IN ONE OF THE ENDLESS EVERYDAY
EXPERIENCES.
THE REAL BODY DOES NOT STOP EXISTING JUST BECAUSE STARTS
THE DREAM.
Thus your true identity never ceases to be 'awakened' nor at the beginning (birth in
the collective dream), neither during, nor at the end (death in the dream).
If you do not stop being awakened, you NEVER NEED TO RE–WAKE UP!
Spiritual Awakening is a conventional term used only to remind the sleeping
conscience and immersed in the world that its true nature is always awakened!
However, the conscience can 'believe' not to be, it can pretend to forget its true
nature and therefore feel the need to go in search of itself. This repetitive search
for one's true nature is samsara, the collective dream.
The search for the awakening of your essence will cease spontaneously as soon as
you recognize that you are already the awakened essence!
14

In a nutshell what will happen in the moment of the so–called Awakening?
Nothing ... nothing will happen to your true nature.
Or if you prefer you will move on this Earth no longer as an I, a body, a mind but
as an Awakened Presence to your true nature.
There will not be a paradise, a harem with 72 virgins.
There will only be pure awareness that will illuminate your vision and penetrate
any sensory illusion.
15

Lesson 1
FIRST DIRECT INTRODUCTION TO YOUR
TRUE NATURE: BRIGHTNESS
To help you grasp the essence of what you are let’s take the Tibetan Dzogchen
tradition in which practitioners are introduced directly to their true nature. Directly
means without so many philosophical words, pompous alchemical formulas,
arcane ceremonies, exhausting rituals, sacrifices, vows, sacrifices. In this book
there will be the first direct introduction to one of the three essential qualities of
your true nature. The second and third introductions are found respectively in the
next two works ("Empty Mind in Full Body" and "Without–I you live like God").
Since you can not build anything significant without good foundation, these three
works will provide you with the foundation on which you will then develop your
innate qualities. The quality that I will consider in this book is brightness. The
brightness or clarity will be the guiding thread of this first volume. By brightness I
refer to your innate splendor, to the brightness of the mind present in the natural
state. Once the spark of awareness is triggered, more and more intense and
frequent flashes of lucidity will gradually occur: it is the clear light that is
radiating in you in the form of subtle luminous filaments.
This is your bright appearance:
16

What you need to understand is that this clear light is already in you precisely
because it is an innate quality of your mind. Unfortunately, this clarity rarely
manifests itself in the ordinary mind, which remains largely obscured by chaotic
emotions and gloomy thoughts.
The first step in recognizing the clarity of your mind is to shift the focus from the
psychological clouds to the clear light that lies above these dark thoughts.
Within you there is a miniature Sun that shines daily, but this Sun passes
continuously unnoticed because your attention is captured by dark projections.
When you look away from the shadows (from your dark everyday thoughts) you
can realize the surrounding brightness.
17

Inner sun is synonymous with mental clarity, constant awareness, immovable
presence. This Sun behaves exactly like the outer one: it spontaneously radiates its
heat, continuously illuminates the inner world and is always present, day and
night.
Clouds or darkness are synonymous with relapse, adversity, negative moments.
These periods must be looked at in the right light, that is, always remembering that
the Sun (beneficial, warm, luminous presence) has not gone, has never abandoned
us and is able to face all the dark nights of our soul.
The luminous presence has always been ready to shine more than ever: it had
never been absent, as instead the ordinary mind tends to believe every time
something seems to go wrong.
Unfortunately, the ordinary mind is more inclined to remember the cloudy periods
than the luminous presence. To remedy this unconscious habit, you must cultivate
the awareness that in every moment of your day the inner Sun is there, even if
your ordinary mind appears cloudy.
When you do not feel the warmth of the luminous presence, remember that behind
every cloud there is always the Sun.
Sometimes very little is enough to reconvert the luminous presence of the inner
Sun: a slight shift (change of mentality) is sufficient to see its rays again.
He was there, right next to the emotional or mental cloud that caught our attention.
Staring at those clouds prevented you from recognizing something that was right
there close to you, within you.
Another lightness that we often care about is the belief that the luminous period is
over forever, that from now on things will go badly, that the darkness will be
18

permanent and that by now we have lost forever the golden opportunity. This
attitude is silly and immature like that of a child who at night imagines that the
Sun has been suddenly devoured by darkness.
Many adults behave the same way.
They go in search of spiritual remedies, rituals, methods of personal growth to the
mere purpose of returning a Sun that in reality had never gone. It was their
ingenuity that led them to believe that the rays of the inner Sun had been devoured
by the darkness. This ingenuity unleashes a strange fear, induces senseless
reactions, produces disastrous results. Some people spend their whole lives in this
confusing state, living in fear that the inner Sun can no longer shine. You, on the
other hand, have the opportunity to become aware of the fact that 'the luminous
presence has never gone away!'.
You do not find it to be a stratospheric news!
You should rejoice when this recognition occurs in you because this awareness is
invaluable. When, on the other hand, you do not feel the warmth of the inner Sun,
do not be discouraged, do not be misled by the boring criteria of the intellect. The
superficial mind can not read between the lines, expects the inner Sun to show
itself in the form of a sphere of light miraculously emanating from the third eye;
he believes that the luminous presence has the obligation to follow his
expectations, to manifest himself as, where and when the intellect decides it. Do
not listen to these claims, do not be fooled by the intellect that denies the luminous
presence simply because it is addicted to the gross senses. In these cases apply a
simple but illuminating trick: "The inner Sun (luminous presence) is here even
when my senses do not perceive it".
After all, it is not necessary for your physical body to feel the heat of the sun's
rays to confirm the existence of the Sun, right?
In the same way your awareness knows very well that the Sun (the luminous
presence) is always alive inside and outside of you. Do not listen to the cloudy
19

mood swings that darken your days. If at a given moment you do not feel the
warm presence of the inner Sun you do not have to worry, it is not a problem as
the intellect naively believes.
Do you know when you feel a bit down the rope, weak, lazy? In those moments it
is as if the body does not feel the inner Sun, rather it is as if the intellect believed
that the Sun no longer exists because you do not feel constantly full of joy,
enthusiasm, passion, vigor, determination. The typical equation of the intellect is
this: Inner sun = absolute dominance of positive emotions and exclusion of all that
is negative, annoying, unpleasant, boring, monotonous.
Or: Absence of strong emotions (positive) = absence of the Sun (interior).
Since the intellect will continue to wonder what this blessed inner Sun consists of,
you can keep it calm by using some simple point of reference. For example, you
can consider this luminous presence as a sort of pleasant state of mind, a feeling of
almost imperceptible whiteness, a soft warmth, a pleasant tingling. In short,
nothing stratospheric but not something to be underestimated. Just like the rays of
the Sun: for us they are nothing extraordinary but their benefits are
innumerable. In the same way the calmness of this luminous presence
contains an immense power, a power often underestimated by the intellect.
Sometimes to expose them selves to the Sun (interior / exterior) is a great cure for
the body and the soul.
Recognizing this innate clarity is already a huge achievement in itself.
To familiarize yourself with this clarity, imagine that in your mind there is indeed
an inner Sun that radiates the same brilliance of the outer Sun. It is not necessary
that you visualize in detail this inner Sun, rather it is better not to try in any way to
reproduce this luminosity mentally. This is not a creative visualization exercise
20

ut an act of immediate recognition: trust should arise in the clear light in you
even if you can not see it at the moment.
If you want to further increase confidence in the inner Sun, get used to bringing
attention back to the outer Sun; for example, at night, before sleeping, remember
that if there is the Sun out there then it is also inside of you. Above all, keep in
mind that your Sun is always present regardless of weather conditions
(psychophysical conditions, moods, external circumstances). That inner Sun is the
most natural, beautiful, beneficial thing there is. Learn to give it the value it
deserves!
At a certain point you will realize that it will no longer be necessary to increase
trust in the inner Sun by leaning on the presence of the outer Sun, just as an
external Master will no longer be necessary to remind you of the presence of your
inner Master.
The following intuition will arise in you: the Sun is permanent, the clouds
impermanent!
The clouds are impermanent in the sense that they come and go all the time, unlike
the Sun that remains motionless, stable, imperturbable and always shining.
Obviously from a cosmological point of view also the Sun will sooner or later go
out, but this is not the point of our speech and above all it is not an astronomical
debate. The purpose of these associations of ideas is to make you recognize the
inconsistency, volatility and fickleness of mental and sentimental clouds, which
change with nothing just like the clouds of the sky.
On the contrary, the Sun (your essence) is not volatile, does not change its form, is
always identical to itself and therefore – in a certain sense – is 'real'.
From here another association of ideas:
The inner Light of the Sun is real, the mental clouds are unreal.
21

These illuminating insights can generate a radical change in your dominant
paradigm. The clouds – negative moments, dark thoughts, mood swings – are
finally seen in their authentic nature, in fact you will no longer see them because
your attention will be focused on what lies beyond the clouds and beyond the
darkness ... the inner Sun or the luminous presence.
One of the many privileges of this awareness is the no longer having to beg for
radiance (happiness), not having to search desperately in the outside world, in the
'special' relationships, in the superlative experiences, in the frenetic habits of every
day and above all the privilege of not having to rely on artificial, external,
fictitious, conventional light.
What do you need sun lamps for if you have the sun?
In other words, when you realize the intrinsic radiance you will no longer go in
search of exterior pseudo–radiance, you will no longer need to beg the approval of
others, you will not need any preliminary activity to your well–being.
Well–being will be the starting point, no longer the point of arrival!
What obscures inner clarity is the endless doubts you've had over the years and the
confusion with which the conditioned mind has turned your vision of the world
and yourself upside down. These doubts and confusion have produced a kind of
inner fog that prevents you from recognizing the brightness of your own mind. I
am pointing to one of the many directions in which you can move, then it is up to
you to decide if and when to sweep away this inner fog.
At some point in your journey you will notice the difference between the periods
of clarity and non–clarity.
22

The period of clarity coincides with the moments in which you recognize that the
inner Sun is always present even though it is not recognized by the senses or by
the intellect. This luminous period represents a real phase of your life, one in
which from caterpillar (phase of non–clarity) you turn into a butterfly (phase of
clarity). Clarity periods are characterized by exponential inner growth, while
periods of non–clarity are chaotic and full of oscillations. Soon the old highs and
lows typical of non–clarity will only be a distant memory. However, the ultimate
degree of clarity depends on you: you can live continuously in full clarity as in
total darkness.
The well–known book "A course in Miracles" summarizes this discourse with this
23

eflection:
"What do you want? Light or darkness, knowledge or ignorance are yours, but not
both. "
KEY CONCEPTS
1)
Your mind, in its natural state, presents an innate quality of pure luminosity. Being
a natural quality you do not have to force yourself to reach it, but you should
gradually increase your confidence in this clarity. Before irradiating it, it is
necessary to realize that it is already in you, that it is necessary to stop ignoring it
and to give this quality the value it deserves.
2)
The inner Sun (luminous presence) is always present!
He always keeps us company, he's always with us!
Yesterday he was there. Now it's there. Tomorrow it will be there. In a year's time
he will be back in the same place.
24

Do not trust the opposite expression, the perfidious voice that denies the luminous
presence.
Confusion and doubts form an inner fog that obscures the perception of your
clarity. This inner fog is made denser by the gloomy thoughts that hinder the
correct vision of your nature. Probably tomorrow or a week since today you have
already forgotten your clear light. These systematic oversights are precisely the
moments of darkness that (apparently) conceal your true inner nature; for this
reason it is said that ignorance brings continuous suffering.
If you have ignored this inner luminosity so far, then the moment has arrived to
change your attitude!
The time has come to transcend the superficial speculations of the intellect, which
believes that it is necessary to always be lucid, cheerful, proactive, hyperactive to
really define people who are solar, happy, fulfilled.
Do not be fooled by these intellectual speculations.
The moods and the daily sensations are only passing clouds and have no influence
on the Sun: it is the Sun that conditions the 'mind–body' planet and not vice versa.
You give power to these inner clouds, make them darker and denser than they
actually are.
When you listen to the intellect and convince yourself that the golden moments
can not return, you are thinking exactly like those who believe that the external
Sun suddenly stops radiating its rays or worse as those who fear that the Sun
decides to suddenly to exclude someone from their splendor.
To remedy this skepticism try to think like this:
"The luminous presence is there even though now I feel disgusting."
"Despite being full of thoughts, I am aware of the presence of my inner Sun."
25

"Even if I do not feel the heat of the sun, I know it's always present."
"Although at this moment there is not much lucidity and self–awareness, I am
aware that clarity is an innate quality of my mind!"
"The sun is permanent, the clouds impermanent!"
"The luminous presence is real, the mental clouds are unreal."
The threatening clouds never exclude the Sun: one can look at all the inner and
outer turbulences and at the same time know that the Sun is there – even if you do
not see it.
If you really do this lesson then the darkness (ignorance, doubts, distrust) will no
longer be able to darken you, the fears can not dominate you, the psychological
clouds invade you, the frivolous desires conquer you, the gross senses start and
plagiarize you.
Trust in the (invisible) inner Sun will become incorruptible and unmovable like
trust in the outer (visible) Sun. At that point it does not matter how many clouds
will rush on you, how many emotional perturbations will disrupt your nervous
system, how many storms will torment your mood, how many lightnings
(thoughts, worries) will afflict your mind.
You will see that this clarity will bring light and warmth even in the most
disturbing external circumstances.
The golden moments, those that the intellect gave for dead and buried, will return
and shine more than ever.
Happiness will no longer be a point of arrival but will become the starting point of
every experience.
26

Take advantage of these precautions and start immediately to nourish gratitude for
your inner, innate, invisible Sun.
27

Lesson 2
NAIVE REALISM
In philosophy the common conception that people have of reality is called 'naive
realism'.
The expression naive realism or primitive realism refers to the belief that the
world, objects and everyday experiences actually have the characteristics (color,
form, consistency) that we perceive.
Practical examples of naive realism:
– My senses can not deceive me.
– The world around me is as I perceive it.
– The majority is always right; all – those I know – perceive the world in this way,
so this perception is correct.
– This is the only possible perception.
– Science is always right and science says that reality is like that.
– Illusions (sensory) do not exist.
– Even if the illusions and hallucinations exist, I can not be a victim, I am a
mentally 'healthy' person, normal, intelligent.
– My mind can not fool me ... if it happened I would notice it.
– If something I perceive it this way must necessarily be so.
– Everything I perceive exists and vice versa (IF I DO NOT PERCEIVE IT
DOES NOT EXIST).
28

From these examples it is easy to see that naive realism indicates an absence or
lack of lucidity, awareness, maturity: from this immaturity the ignorance of the
notion of sensorial deception arises and this ignorance produces the tendency to
confuse appearance with Reality.
Despite this widespread ignorance, critical or scientific realism has shown for
centuries that the world perceived by our senses is not an exact and direct copy of
the external world, but is the result of a series of mediations, restructurings and
other activities performed by the brain.
The naive realist confuses Reality with appearance, facts with impressions, events
with presentiments, truth with opinions, knowledge with belief.
In essence, the naive realist puts all his trust in external appearances and is
completely unaware of any sensory deception: he blindly believes everything he
sees and anything that is perceived by his sensory organs; he probably does not
even know what impressions are, altered states of consciousness, hallucinations,
mirages, holographic projections, virtual reality.
One should not forget that the naive realist takes the gross perception of
ordinary senses as the sole reference point.
If you ask him what Reality is – and the question seems a bit strange to him – he
says: reality is simply what I see, what I feel, what I touch.
29

For him, the perception of the senses represents the true and only proof of
Reality.
He does not understand that visual, auditory, tactile elements are not the
appropriate measuring instrument for establishing the reality of something.
In this book instead of 'naive realist' I use terms like 'ordinary, immature, asleep,
unconscious' consciousness.
The term 'consciousness in the way of Awakening' indicates instead all those who
have passed the stage of naive realism, are disenchanted with common sense and
have a broader, clearer and deeper vision; consciousness in the way of Awakening
does not confuse Reality with appearances, that is, it does not confuse the essence
with what is perceived and distorted by the body–mind apparatus.
30

Lesson 3
WHAT DOES DREAM
MEAN?
Dreaming is simply the act of identifying with projections, with what is projected
or 'thrown forward' from the mind. In essence, dreaming means identifying oneself
with 'what comes next'.
What comes after what?
After Reality, after your authentic identity, after the essence, after the Pure
Consciousness, after the Pure Subject.
The outer world comes after you exactly as the contents of the dream come after
you or if you prefer come 'from you', 'thanks to you', thanks to the true Source of
energy, to the Pure Subject.
When what comes first – You – identifies with what comes after – with the
impressions of the mind or with external appearances – what happens in this
world happens to You: one forgets about oneself, one lives in ignorance, in
confusion and in the most total chaos.
Remembering oneself (true self) means remembering what comes before the
world, before the body, before social identity, before the collective dream.
The habitual consciousness is continually identified with what comes after, with
mental projections, with what is projected by the mind.
Consciousness in the way of Awakening becomes aware of this process of
identification and simply ceases to support attachment to projections, false
identity, secondary identity, external appearances.
Dreaming = identifying with appearances = identifying with what comes after the
original identity
31

Or
Dreaming = not identifying with Reality = not identifying with essence, original
identity, primary identity, true identity
You unconsciously dream both by day and by night, in the sense that you forget
your true identity and blindly identify yourself with secondary identities,
projections, that is, with what comes after your true identity.
You identify yourself with the activities and not with the Source of these
activities.
You identify yourself with external phenomena and not with the Source of
those phenomena.
You identify yourself with the body and not with the Source of the body.
KEY CONCEPTS
Let’s expand the comparison of the dream.
Think of a recent dream or a dream so vivid as to be impressed in your memory. In
that dream there were the activities with which your consciousness had
momentarily identified: it was so intensely identified that you can still remember
those images and sensations, just as happens every day in this world ... your
consciousness is identified momentarily with the daily psychosomatic activities,
perceives them and remembers them vividly. The dream state represents this
identification and attachment to any impression, sensation, manifestation, external
appearance or any type of activity of the consciousness itself.
In this light you should begin to understand why I write that the world is a
collective dream, that is, a place where ordinary consciences forget their
original identity and identify themselves continuously with external
appearances or with their own impressions (mental, sensory, perceptive
activities).
32

Lesson 4
OBSCURE DREAM (samsaric dream) AND
DREAM OF CLEAR LIGHT
There is a healthy (lucid) dreaming and an unhealthy dreaming (sloppy, obscure,
samsaric).
Healthy dreaming consists in using creative imagination to create a better world,
enjoy one's own experiences and foster the same enjoyment of other creatures.
Unhealthy dreaming is the inability to use creative power, to use it in an egoistic,
possessive, destructive way.
Dreams of clear light are joyful expressions of Pure Consciousness.
Samsaric dreams are pathological expressions of a mind blinded by crazy ideas.
Here for samsaric and clear–light dreams we mean real 'experiences', just like the
ones you live every day.
This world, its wars, conflicts, injustices are manifestations of a mind devoted to
the folly of separation, to pride, to maniacal desire, to the most brutal violence.
In the Tibetan tradition these pathological manifestations fall into the category of
samsaric dreams.
Dreams of clear light instead are happy dreams, that is experiences of expansion
of consciousness.
Through the clear light dreams the ordinary consciousness becomes an awakening
consciousness.
33

The human collective mind, when it is prey to samsaric dreams (crazy ideas), can
be the creator of all those brutal experiences that are marking this humanity.
When the individual / collective mind awakens from the samsaric dream and
recognizes its creative power, it is able to tune into clear–light dreams and
generate magnificent experiences.
We must begin to dream of a different world, to dream ourselves in a new light.
'To return to dreaming' is here understood as going back to using the power of
creative imagination, the power of our consciousness.
The verb dreaming therefore assumes an extremely practical value, it means
connecting to our Source, drawing on our unlimited creative energy and using it
properly.
Our consciousness first dreams of something – the dreaming of consciousness is
equivalent to handling one's energy as if it were wax – and at a later time gives the
density we notice on the earth plane.
We must return to the plane of the imaginal – the plane that precedes physical
manifestation – and incessantly trigger new creative processes, processes based on
luminous principles. We must do it with the conviction that it is starting from that
very thin plane that shapes the everyday world.
We must learn to dream day–life well, to relate well to the manifestations of the
collective dream.
Dreaming well is the first step towards Awakening.
To dream well does not mean to dazzle oneself with the diurnal experiences but to
exploit them to the best so to develop a lucidity that continuously increases.
34

The optimal solution for dreaming properly is to eradicate the mechanisms that
corrupt the dreaming itself, that is, the psychological mechanisms that proliferate
samsaric dreams, self–sabotaging tendencies, perverse inclinations, obsessions and
compulsions.
35

Lesson 5
WORLD RADIO
Right now you are tuned to the frequency bands called the terrestrial world.
You tune in every day from approximately six in the morning until around
midnight.
Every time you retune you down here the first erroneous thought that your mind
formulate sounds more or less like this: 'this is my real body', 'this is my world',
'this world is real'.
All these fallacious insinuations of your mind presuppose that this is not a
collective dream but something truer, more realistic, more special, important and
reliable than individual dreams.
Your intellect attributes to this dimension an importance greater than the
other dimensions on which you tune in both day and night.
The reason why this dimension appears so important and so real to you is that you
are totally dependent on it, you are morbidly attracted by its stimuli, you feel a
pathological attachment to everything that happens down here and consequently
chase after all the impressions and appearances external ones that appear in this
planetary matrix.
You rarely investigate the nature of these manifestations, the nature of your
impressions, your thoughts, your feelings and when you do, you do it
superficially. Instead of getting your hands dirty and making the effort to go
deeper, you rely on what the intellect suggests to you, what common sense,
religion, your spiritual tradition or official science claims.
36

Those who have thoroughly investigated the nature of this world have found that
consciousness can tune into different bands of existence and that the Earth is only
one of the endless bands.
It is not the most real frequency band of all and not even the least real one.
Calling this frequency band 'planetary dream' is a conventional and temporary
solution to make you lose the morbid attachment to this dimension.
It may be that by defining it that way – in the manner in which many sages have
defined this world – disenchantment with sensual manifestations of this dimension
also takes place in your consciousness.
Naturally your cognitive system will reject this language because it is not familiar
to it, it does not correspond to its 'description of the world'. Since these teachings
are not giving reason to your ego, you may experience resistance of all kinds.
The fact that your consciousness is tuned to this frequency does not mean that you
are really here or that you are imprisoned in this dimension or in that body.
When you listen to the radio, you are not really in that singer's concert, and yet
you are tuned in with its music, with those vibrations.
Those vibrations produce emotions in you, they give you the impression of being
there with that singer.
If you then change the radio station it is not that you physically move from one
concert to another ... you tune in – indeed the radio (mind) tunes – on another
frequency, on other vibrations which will induce other impressions, other psychic
movements (thoughts) and physical (emotions, physical sensations).
When we are immersed in this terrestrial matrix, rich in waves and imperceptible
vibrations, we seem to find ourselves immersed in the environment of this matrix,
dazzled by the sound and visual effects of those waves and vibrations.
37

Our mind tends to identify itself with all the special effects of these vibrations, but
pure awareness does not.
Pure awareness knows that it has never moved an inch, does not feel imprisoned
in the matrix of thoughts–sensations, knows that it is not 'there' only because the
brain has arisen the impression of being 'there' – at that concert, in that world.
Pure awareness recognizes that this is one of the infinite frequencies on which we
can tune and does not believe it more real than other frequencies, even more real
than those on which you tune in every night, on the frequencies of what you
consider simple dreams.
The radio in our case corresponds not only to the mind but also to the
psychophysical apparatus (understood as the brain + nervous system). Every night
the mind is tuned to frequencies different from the diurnal frequency, the 'world
frequency', that is, what you consider your one and true reality. The tuning is made
in high definition thanks to the contribution of the brain and the nervous system,
which intensify the experience making the perception more vivid. By tuning in on
this frequency you almost instantly forget other frequencies; your attention
remains attracted exclusively to what happens here below. It probably does not
even pass through the brain antechamber that what happens on 'Radio Terra' and
what happens to 'Radio Puffolandia' consists of a conglomerate of vibrations and
impressions whose fundamental nature coincides 100%, despite to the physical
eyes appear under different forms. Being abducted more by form than by
substance, you do not grasp the essence of external manifestations. But when you
use pure awareness, and no longer the intellect or the superficial impressions of
the sensory organs, then you intuit the vibrational aspect of external appearances,
the fundamental nature of the events of this and other dimensions. The moment
your attention is taken away by these events, by the sounds, by the vibrations and
by the relative impressions of these frequencies (World Radio) you end up
forgetting your own nature. Like a child who, listening a fairytale, immerses
himself in that fairy realm or as the teenager wearing a virtual helmet identifies
himself with what he "perceives", so your conscience tuning on 'World Radio’
38

identifies with the impressions of this dimension . It behaves like that child who
plunges totally into the fairy realm, into the realm of visual impressions (forms,
images, bodies), of auditory impressions (sounds, words, thoughts, judgments,
concepts, beliefs, beliefs), of tactile impressions (emotions , feelings, feelings).
Unlike ordinary consciousness, consciousness awakening realizes that by tuning in
on a particular frequency it does not actually end up there, it does not really move
into that 'world' just as you do not end up in Celentano's concert when you tune in
to 'Radio Celentano'. If you tune in on rai 1 and watch the Milan–Rome match,
you are not really in the Meazza stadium
The lucid conscience realizes that it can listen, see and even feel any world, any
experience, any phenomenon without actually being there, just as you can see a
program, listen to a song and not find there.
For many of you – at the stage of your current consciousness – all this might seem
absurd, as in the Middle Ages it seemed absurd that a device like a smartphone
could exist. They would have considered it a diabolical instrument, a sorcery, a
magic of the devil. In short, they would have believed it was impossible to talk or
see each other all over the world.
In the same way, for many of you the idea of not really being here is unacceptable.
The thought that worries you among the innumerable dreams that you have made
and that you do every night, may be one of many.
The idea that this world is dreamlike, holographic or virtual does not put you at
ease.
The virtual places are identical to the so–called real places. Identical not only
aesthetically but also perceptually ... and when two phenomena coincide on the
perceptual plane, in effect one can no longer speak of a real difference between
the two. One can speak only of formal difference, aesthetic or apparent, superficial
difference.
39

Thus one can speak only of apparent and superficial difference between this world
and those you dream of at night, but in substance – on the level of pure perception
– it is the same phenomenon.
To grasp the substance one must use a rare instrument, the pure awareness or the
direct perception of the subtle body or the energetic body (however coordinated by
pure awareness).
Using the subtle body without pure awareness is like to use the physical (gross)
body with the simple difference that instead of being enchanted and attracted by
gross phenomena you are seduced by more subtle phenomena: for this reason I
specified that the coordination of pure awareness is needed.
I briefly reformulate this last speech because it is fundamental.
Every night your consciousness perceives a world made of images, sounds, colors,
distances, feelings of heat or cold, emotions of anger or joy.
In a similar way every day you perceive a world made of images, sounds, colors,
distances, sensations of heat or cold, emotions of anger or joy.
The day and night content (sounds, images) consist in both cases in a set of
vibrations and impressions interpreted by the mind, filtered by the cognitive
system, converted by the brain and reconverted by the nervous system. These
systematic conversions and the return in the form of images, sounds, so–called
'real' sensations take place both in the world of closed–eyed and open–eyed
dreams.
40

The only difference is that you are used to considering the images, the sounds and
the sensations of the world in the most reliable, vivid, intense daydreams of those
in the world dreamed with your eyes closed.
You do not notice that the same process of conversion of vibrations is taking place
on a deep level.
A VIBRATION IS ONLY A VIBRATION, BOTH IN DREAMS WITH OPEN
EYES AND WITH EYES CLOSED.
AN IMPRESSION IS ONLY AN IMPRESSION, BOTH IN THE EXTERNAL
WORLD AND IN THE INTERNAL WORLD.
Ordinary consciousness is imprisoned by the partial, incomplete and misleading
interpretive system of the ordinary senses and the intellect. He can not see beyond
what is elaborated by the nervous system or projected by the cognitive system.
He does not recognize that the human brain is only one of many converters, one of
the countless transmitters and among other things it is not even the most accurate.
We all know that the perceptive spectrum of the human brain is very small
compared to that of other creatures.
Let the human brain see 1% of the actual reality and that it excludes the remaining
99% from its perceptive system. Humanity – in general – considers that 1% as the
total and effective reality of the Universe while the remaining 99% is considered
non–existent, unreal or impossible.
When the consciousness identifies itself with the human cognitive system it takes
into consideration only that 1% while 99% – as long as it is perceived lucidly –
ends up in oblivion.
41

In that 99% there are also all the journeys that your consciousness makes every
night, all the experiences that are censored by the ordinary cognitive system, all
the knowledge that you could receive with a shred of more awareness and a shred
of less ego. In that 99% there are also the unusual diurnal manifestations that a
part of you can detect while another part (conditioned mind) buries them under a
mountain of prejudices, beliefs, dysfunctional thoughts.
Ordinary consciousness is hypnotized by that matrix of dysfunctional thoughts and
feels imprisoned by this matrix, feels imprisoned in this dimension, feels
submissive to those vibrations, to those impressions, images, sounds and daily
perceptions.
"They are too intense not to be real", think the consciousness identified with the
human cognitive system.
That reasoning corresponds to that of those who think "this three–dimensional
film is too addictive not to be true", "this virtual videogame is too impressive to be
a simple simulation".
"It's too emotional, too moving, too touching, too overwhelming".
As you can see, it is sufficient to give a slightly intense emotional tinge to induce
in the ordinary consciousness the sense of reality or the conviction that an external
appearance must be true because it SEEMS extremely engaging.
That 'seems' should make you raise the antennas.
Naive realism – the common sense of reality – lies in the naive identification of
ordinary consciousness with external appearances.
It is through your immense empowering attitude and your ability to accentuate the
impressions that you are able to inject more or less the sense of reality and make
42

you more or less involved in any kind of experience. Any event of any size can
become or seem real thanks to you, thanks to your incalculable energy. When
you ignore this power, you are trapped by the body of impressions and you lose
the ability to see clearly and directly perceive what is happening in this dimension.
In other words, I am telling you that you are not imprisoned in the vibrational
matrix of 'World Radio' and therefore you can free yourself from the attractive
force exerted by any phenomenon of this dimension. Your consciousness can go
beyond everything that the conditioned mind considers insurmountable,
insurmountable, inaccessible. Even the most iron laws are forced to bow to
the true power of your Pure Consciousness.
I am simply pushing you to explore your authentic power.
You have no idea what you could be and do without the spell exerted by the
subliminal messages of 'World Radio', that is the old influences that oppress and
limit your consciousness.
KEY CONCEPTS
«You can not listen to Iron Maiden if you stay tuned to Radio Maria.»
1)
The waves of worldly radio have hypnotized the ordinary consciousness by
nailing its attention to the events of the collective dream.
To break the spell, the ordinary consciousness should dissuade itself from the
perceptive waves that produce the usual impressions in it. As an example, he
could learn to recognize the way in which electromagnetic waves (including
43

thoughts and emotions) alter his perception of reality. He may realize that his
feelings also depend on these waves.
When the habitual waves – especially those induced by mental conditioning – stop
interfering with its perceptual field, the ordinary consciousness realizes that the
concept of collective dream was not just an abstract concept.
He will denude the appearances of the world, touch the projections of the
collective dream with his own hands, and through pure awareness he will
penetrate illusions one by one.
2)
Imagine turning on the 'tv conscience' and seeing the 'Luigi' program (or whatever
your name is).
You are not that character that appears in the world!
The start of the program and the performance of the show proceed independently
without you. The shows – experiences, events, natural phenomena – are projected
without interruption.
You at most are viewers who identify with one of the characters and who are
passionate about his adventures.
The show follows the schedule established for that story but what happens to the
virtual / dreamlike character is not about your true identity, instead is about the
show, about external appearances, about the dream.
You are not just a marionette of the cosmic show.
You may feel like you are in the world's shows, yet your true nature is neither in
the world nor of the world!
It is the world that is yours; it is the world that is in front of you, after you, in you.
44

Lesson 6
AND IF THEY WERE
MIRACLES?
Some time ago I asked myself:
And if instead of considering the world and the daily phenomena as sensorial
illusions we would simply consider them as miracles?
There it came back to me that "we give all the meaning that the thoughts and the
words have for us": we call something miracle to distinguish it from a non–
miracle, that is to distinguish an extraordinary event from an ordinary event.
But who is that in truth establishes the difference between miraculous and non–
miraculous, between ordinary and extraordinary?
The mind, naturally.
Ordinary and extraordinary are only mental constructs, concepts invented by our
mind.
Some ideas are welcome by some minds and others by others: the idea of illusion
tends to be refused by most people; it is a concept that is easy to misunderstand
and even when it is grasped it remains difficult to accept. Other concepts can be
communicated more easily, accepted with less resistance and above all less fear.
One of these ideas is the idea of a miracle.
For many of you the word 'miracle' may be more familiar than the word 'illusion':
not that one term is better than the other, only that we have been educated to favor
45

one idea over another; for education, for religious conditioning, or because of
personal inclination, the fact is that the word miracle has always fascinated the
human mind.
In light of this you can replace the concept of illusion with any other term.
If the synonyms as an apparition, impression, mirage, dream, external appearance
do not please you, you can use the term 'miracle'. Every time you find the word
illusion (or a synonym) you can read it as a 'miracle', prodigy, enchantment,
magic.
What do we usually call miraculous?
Pay attention to human language: what some believers define as a miracle of the
Madonna refers to the apparition of the Madonna.
It is not the presence of the presumed Madonna, but its APPARITION which is
called a miracle!
And what is the word 'illusion' if not a synonym of the word 'apparition' and
therefore of the word miracle?
As you can see, you can freely superimpose the idea of illusion to the idea of a
miracle.
I have made the example of Our Lady only because it is an example easily
understood by everyone.
That example served to show you how the mind arbitrarily attributes a miraculous
value (sacred, divine) to a phenomenon rather than to another.
Reflect on this:
Why should not the birth of a creature be considered a miracle?
46

Why should the fact that there is a planet orbiting the sun should be considered a
miracle?
Why instead should other phenomena be called miracles?
Why is not the 'gift of walking' on earth seen as a miracle while the 'gift of
walking' on water should be a miracle?
Basically both are only physical activities, two gifts of nature, the first explainable
the second inexplicable for the current human mentality.
The more you go into these reflections and the more you discover how naive the
human attitude towards life itself is.
How, for example, is to determine whether something is more miraculous or less
miraculous than another?
Already the question sounds wacky, yet it is precisely what has been doing for
thousands of years: it catalogs the phenomena and believes that there can really be
'degrees of miraculousness'; of things not miraculous, with a high rate of
miraculousness and a low rate of miraculousness. And obviously it is the man
himself who decrees the degree of miraculousness, depending on how that
phenomenon is explicable and conceivable by his limited intellect.
In short, we call miracles some events rather than others for the simple reason that
some understand them and others do not understand them, this is the only and
authentic reason why we appeal to the miracle.
In a sense it is a justification to our ignorance.
There are an infinite number of laws, principles, natural phenomena that our
ordinary mind continues to ignore and continues to call them miracles.
What we consider today an obsolete object, hundreds of years ago would have
been called a miracle.
47

In the same way what we consider today as a miracle – extraordinary event – in
hundreds of years will be an obviousness.
Do you now understand how illusory and misleading the concept of miracle itself
is?
Yet we can not exclude it because it is part of our heritage, of our way of
communicating and therefore it is appropriate to use it in an appropriate manner.
The same problem occurs with the dream concept: if it is not correctly
contextualized it can be misleading.
Moral of the story, if you prefer the idea of miracle, apply it freely to these
teachings.
You can apply it by considering existence, the world, daily life as a miracle after
another. Consider the thoughts, the sensations, the actions of the body as miracles.
This way of seeing life can be useful to you when there is a lack of trust in your
inner strength: to admit that small miracles happen continuously in life and that
you yourself actively participate in these miracles can only benefit you.
KEY CONCEPTS
Get used to seeing the individual events of your daily life as a succession of
little miracles: the daily encounters, the phenomena of nature, the activities of
your body, the feelings, your emotions, the love, the irresistible attraction you feel
towards someone or something.
48

Look with admiration for the way you yourselves are assiduously involved in
these miracles, as if your own presence contributed to the manifestation of those
miracles.
Instead of considering the world as a collective dream, consider it a collective
miracle: a miracle in which we all participate a little.
Do not underestimate this way of looking at the world because in this light you
might notice otherwise invisible details; you could unexpectedly favor real
miracles, such incredible events that you can revolutionize any aspect of your life
(health, relationships, work).
49

Lesson 7
PRIMARY AND SECONDARY
REALITY
In the predominant paradigm of this society, external appearance comes before
everything else. We all know that we have been conditioned to give priority to the
world, to the body, to external apparitions. They convinced us to believe that it is
thanks to the world we exist.
'First' the body and then your identity ... this is the current dogma of humanity.
This paradigm is the basis of the confusion of ordinary consciousness that forgets
its identity and is lost between the forms, the bodies, the thoughts, the sensations,
the internal / external worlds.
This paradigm must be reversed. You must realize that it is you who give reality to
the outside, to all the experiences of your life.
Without you such experiences could not exist!
In a broad sense – and this is hard to grasp in the mind – the Universe itself can
not exist without you.
You as a primary Reality!
The primary Reality is the real identity and this is the sub–layer that precedes any
subsequent layer. The successive layers are the secondary reality that depends on
the primary one (your authentic identity).
Your deep identity is the Primary Reality, the sub–layer.
Everything else comes later, it's secondary.
Secondary does not mean useless, unreal but only that it is not primary ... what is
primary – Reality, your Identity – comes first and should have greater importance.
Usually, however, we give greater importance to secondary reality, that is, to the
body, to the world, to the collective dream, to physical impressions.
We even believe that without the body we can not exist!
Hence the attachment to the body itself and the fucking fear of death (death of the
body, not ours).
You must stop being dependent on secondary reality and you must return to the
50

Primary Reality, to your authentic Identity, which is the true and only Reality.
This primary Reality is independent of the secondary, that is to say that your
essence does not depend on external appearances, not even on the body.
The primary Reality can exist without the secondary one, the secondary one
instead requires the Primary Reality.
The primary Reality is the inexhaustible source of energy thanks to which
everything comes to light.
In the secondary reality also the physical body is included.
When you identify yourself with secondary reality, you go in search of the primary
Reality (of yourselves).
What the traditions do is bring your attention back to the Primary Reality, unblock
it from the secondary one so as to make you perceive, at least for a moment, what
you really are. After becoming aware of the primary Reality you should be able to
always remember you, your true identity. The famous 'Self–Remembering'
consists precisely in remembering your primary Reality, reminding you that you
come before any experience.
Those who have become aware of (own) Reality will no longer seek it in the
external world. This is not a miraculous mutation but simply a spontaneous
reaction that arises in all those who come to this self–realization.
But when you believe you are the secondary reality, always remain attached and
identified with what comes after you. In jargon what comes 'after' is called
'projection'. Secondary reality is a projection of primary Reality. The world is a
projection of primary Reality. The body is a projection. The dream is a projection.
The experiences are projections.
I think that I can’t be clearer that that ...
KEY CONCEPTS
51

1)
PRIMARY REALITY = Essence, you as Pure Consciousness, your authentic
identity, Pure Being or Pure Subject.
SECONDARY REALITY = Objects, projections or external appearances,
Universe, body, world, collective dream, experiences, physical sensations,
thoughts.
Primary Reality (you) comes first of all ... even before the Universe!
PROJECTION = what is next.
Project (in Greek = throw forward): the projection is the object launched in front
of us.
The mind identifies itself with its projections (the contents of its dreams).
In the game of life, ordinary consciousness identifies itself with what it has
projected: an idea, a sensation, a preoccupation, a fantasy, a fear, a desire.
In general your habitual identity is identified with what it emanates, with what it
radiates thanks to its creative power. The problem is that one tends to forget the
Pure Subject, one forgets the process of emanation–projection and identifies itself
only with the projected 'objects'.
Habitual consciousness is identified with a body, that is, with an 'object'.
The consciousness that realizes that it is the Pure "projecting" Object is no longer
identified with objects, projections, or the body: it sees the body as an object, a
useful and interesting vehicle but always secondary to Reality (primary). The
same applies to the world: it is an interesting projection but still secondary to
Reality (primary).
When you awaken to Reality (primary), attachment to secondary reality will
spontaneously diminish.
2)
The solidity of the images of the film comes from the solidity of the screen.
The sense of reality of the terrestrial projections (material world, body, physical
sensations) comes from the underlying Reality, from your deepest being.
The projective beam itself is inconsistent and becomes solid only when it appears
on the screen. That solidity does not belong to projections but to the screen.
52

Solidity is a property of the screen, not of projections. If you touch the
projections, you perceive them solid because you are touching the substrate and
not the projections. In the same way, the solidity perceived in this dimension is a
property of the primary Reality and not of the secondary one.
For this reason, secondary reality is defined as dream, because it is like a
cinematographic projection, a manifestation that in itself is empty, harmless, and
unsuspecting if it were not for the primary Reality.
The substantiality of the body and the world does not depend on the body itself,
nor on the world but on the primary Reality which acts as a screen and gives
solidity to external manifestations.
Without this primary Reality the world and the physical body would be only a
vacuous projection, of the same consistency of dreams, therefore inconsistent.
It is the primary Identity that gives substance, concreteness, reality to everything,
to dreams, to the world, to sensations.
It is your Pure Being to give fullness to your experiences, your fears and your
dreams!
53

54

Lesson 8
STOPPING THE WORLD
Stopping the world is a recurring expression in the works of Carlos Castaneda and
refers to a process of radical inner transformation.
To understand this expression it is necessary to make some premises.
For 'world' Castaneda means the 'description of the world' and its perception, the
perception we have of our experiences (sensations, emotions, feelings). This
perception is influenced by our internal dialogue, that is, by the way we describe
the world; how we paint it, tell it, imagine. Description of the world also stands for
the system of beliefs that we pass on, which we inculcate in the heads of the new
generations.
In other words, the world – our daily perception – depends on our description,
which in turn depends on our internal dialogue (the constructs of our mind).
In essence our inner constructs 'build' our outer world, our collective dream.
Among the mental constructs and the world as we see it, there is a key element:
the perception.
Ordinary perception, that is, the world as perceived by a normal human being, can
be interrupted and replaced by an extraordinary perception, the perception of those
whom Castaneda calls Seers, Nagual, Wizards. What you need to understand is
that when our perception changes, our world also changes. In this sense, to say
perception, to say perceptive world or to say world is the same thing; they all refer
to the same meaning. In order for our (perceptive) world to be different or out of
the ordinary it is necessary first of all to stop the usual description of the world,
55

that is, the set of beliefs / superstitions / prejudices / values that have conditioned
and limited our perception of Reality for millennia. Stopping the description of the
world corresponds a bit to the classic concept of questioning one's own
convictions, only that it has a completely different value here. It is not a matter of
replacing a negative thought with a positive one. Here it is a matter of clearly
interrupting the inner dialogue, that mental mechanism that automatically sets in
motion a series of psychosomatic reactions that are ill–suited to an consciousness
in the way of Awakening. This dialogue is what sustains the description of the
world, is what supports it, defends it, promotes it. From this massive dialogue, the
most disparate ideologies are born and spread like wildfire, the most gruesome
acts. Also because of this incessant dialogue a tide of vital energy is dissipated in
absurd habits, obsessive attitudes and compulsive behaviors. Above all however,
this dialogue is the cause of our individual hallucinations, of our insane collective
dream, of the crazy manifestations we see every day. The interruption of this
dialogue makes it possible to stop the world (to stop the canonical description of
the world) and this in turn allows us to access a perception that is no longer
ordinary but out of the ordinary. Ordinary perception corresponds to the world that
you usually perceive, to the reality you see when you remain enchanted by
external appearances, when you are a slave to thoughts, to language, succumbing
to the most morbid desires, attached to the most childish whims. This ordinary
perception is precisely the collective dream from which you should wake up.
The extraordinary perception is the perception that unfolds when you disengage
from the external appearances, when you are no longer slaves of the ordinary
mind, you do not make you dominate by desires, you do not get viscerally
involved in worldly caprices. Your eyes will not remain ingenuously glued to the
phenomena of the world, you will not be hypnotized by the habits of the mass, you
will not be deceived by the parameters of the system. You will understand that
what the system defines as real, true, beneficial, natural has nothing real, true,
beneficial and natural.
In extraordinary perception you will be aware of where you are, what is happening
at the planetary level, what forces are at stake, how the attention of the mass can
56

e hooked, hypnotized, manipulated and finally imprisoned in particular energy
structures, in perceptual bubbles or in a few words in a collective dream or
nightmare.
Extraordinary perception is within everyone's reach, it is only an unusual
perception compared to the usual one, a more subtle, refined and authentic
perception.
Unlike ordinary perception, the extraordinary perception is a direct perception;
ordinary perception was manipulated and reduced by a rigid description of the
world (dogmas, taboos, beliefs) while this subtle perception is guided by silent
knowledge, it is a perception that moves in harmony with the micro–movements
of the energy itself.
It is a clean perception, not obscured by internal dialogue, by what others have
told you about the world, the Universe, about yourself, about life, about death,
about the afterlife, about what to fear and what to appreciate.
This perception is extremely rare because, willy–nilly, our mind has been marked
by a rigid description of the world and a misleading description of ourselves.
Beyond the perceptual aspect, the speech is rather intuitive. Think about it: when a
belief about something is removed or changed, along with the profound conviction
also changes your way of interacting and consequently changes the result of the
interaction; you could interrupt some habits or start a new lifestyle, all thanks to
the reversal of certain convictions. At the global level the same thing happens: the
current society is supported by our adherence to its conventions; its conventions
have become our convictions; his thought system has become our dominant
thought system. From this system of dominant thought derive our actions and our
actions derive our society, the environment in which we live, the scenarios in
which we are daily immersed ... our world.
Rising consciousness (consciousness in the way of Awakening) abstains from the
disordered activity of the mind which builds a world and imprisons itself within it.
Ordinary consciousness, on the other hand, is a slave to the disordered activities of
57

one's own mind, which creates its own cocoon of thoughts / sensations and
becomes entangled in it like a spider remains imprisoned in its own web.
KEY CONCEPTS
This time I will mention a dialogue by Don Juan and Castaneda in which the
concepts of world description and internal dialogue are clarified.
The passage is taken from the book "A Separate Reality".
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «For years I have truly tried to live in accordance
with your teachings," I said. "Obviously I have not done well. How can I do
better now?»
DON JUAN: «You think and talk too much. You must stop talking to
yourself.»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «What do you mean?»
DON JUAN: «You talk to yourself too much. You're not unique at that. Every
one of us does that. We carry on an internal talk. Think about it. Whenever
you are alone, what do you do?»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «I talk to myself.»
DON JUAN: «What do you talk to yourself about?»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «I don't know; anything, I suppose.»
DON JUAN: «I'll tell you what we talk to ourselves about. We talk about our
world. In fact we maintain our world with our internal talk.»
58

CARLOS CASTANEDA: «How do we do that?»
DON JUAN: «Whenever we finish talking to ourselves the world is always as
it should be. We renew it, we kindle it with life, we uphold it with our internal
talk. Not only that, but we also choose our paths as we talk to ourselves. Thus
we repeat the same choices over and over until the day we die, because we
keep on repeating the same internal talk over and over until the day we die.
A warrior is aware of this and strives to stop his talking. This is the last point
you have to know if you want to live like a warrior.»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «How can I stop talking to myself?»
DON JUAN: «First of all you must use your ears to take some of the burden
from your eyes. We have been using our eyes to judge the world since the time
we were born. We talk to others and to ourselves mainly about what we see. A
warrior is aware of that and listens to the world; he listens to the sounds of
the world.
A warrior is aware that the world will change as soon as he stops talking to
himself, and he must be prepared for that monumental jolt.»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «What do you mean, don Juan?»
DON JUAN: «The world is such–and–such or so–and–so only because we tell
ourselves that that is the way it is. If we stop telling ourselves that the world is
so–and–so, the world will stop being so–and–so. At this moment I don't think
you're ready for such a momentous blow, therefore you must start slowly to
undo the world.»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «I really do not understand you!»
DON JUAN: «Your problem is that you confuse the world with what people
do. Again you're not unique at that. Every one of us does that. The things
people do are the shields against the forces that surround us; what we do as
people gives us comfort and makes us feel safe; what people do is rightfully
very important, but only as a shield. We never learn that the things we do as
59

people are only shields and we let them dominate and topple our lives. In fact
I could say that for mankind, what people do is greater and more important
than the world itself.»
CARLOS CASTANEDA: «What do you call the world?»
DON JUAN: «The world is all that is encased here," he said, and stomped
the ground. "Life, death, people, the allies, and everything else that
surrounds us. The world is incomprehensible. We won't ever understand it;
we won't ever unravel its secrets. Thus we must treat it as it is, a sheer
mystery!
An average man doesn't do this, though. The world is never a mystery for
him, and when he arrives at old age he is convinced he has nothing more to
live for. An old man has not exhausted the world. He has exhausted only what
people do. But in his stupid confusion he believes that the world has no more
mysteries for him. What a wretched price to pay for our shields!
A warrior is aware of this confusion and learns to treat things properly.
The things that people do cannot under any conditions be more important
than the world. And thus a warrior treats the world as an endless mystery
and what people do as an endless folly.»
60

Lesson 9
DIABOLIC VISION vs.
SYMBOLIC
For an ordinary consciousness, identified with the collective dream, the world is
made up of physical objects, matter, time, space.
For a consciousness on the path of Awakening the world is formed of ideas,
concepts, projections or mental constructs that – to the sleeping consciousness,
identified with such constructs – 'appear' as real objects and experiences.
They appear in that way because they are deeply imprinted in the psyche, fixing
themselves as indelible traces that do not leave the mind of the dreamer.
In the awakened consciousness these constructs leave no trace, their impermanent
nature is recognized, their inconsistency is fully ascertained.
When such constructs and related memory traces are dissolved by the mind of
ordinary consciousness, then even such consciousness can begin to undertake the
path of Awakening.
Not before then!
Not before having learned to see and perceive everyday experience differently; not
before having ascertained the nature of this world and its contents; not before
having abandoned the convictions of the conditioned mind; not before being
disenchanted by external appearances and sensory illusions.
Basically, not before the contents of the world are recognized as constructs and
projections. Without this realization the ordinary consciousness can not undertake
the path of Awakening.
Only when the mental constructs that hypnotized you will have left your mind will
you be able to understand the meaning of these messages and set out for the light
of Awakening.
This means learning to see the contents of the world not for what they seem, for
how they appear outwardly, but as symbols of something else, as representations,
61

as manifestations projected with a particular purpose.
To see only the external aspect means to see only the diabolical aspect (from the
greek Diabàllo = to separate), means to see the apparent separation, to believe in
this separation and consequently to feel only the impression of separation.
To see the deep aspect means to see its symbolic aspect (from the greek symbolon
= to put together, to unite), means to see beyond the apparent separation, not to
believe in separation but to unite and to perceive the connection with the totality
of existence.
In Sanskrit the diabolical / separative / incomplete / incorrect / fragmentary /
immature vision corresponds to Avidya, while the symbolic / unitary / integral /
correct / sapient vision corresponds to Vidya.
In the next lessons we will deepen the difference between the two visions.
At the moment it is essential to understand that the contents of the world (our
daily experiences) should be considered as a conglomeration of symbols and not
as concrete entities and really separate from each other, as they appear to ordinary
perception. Do not be impressed by the formal aspect of your experiences, the way
they appear to your sensory organs, the way you usually perceive them!
Do not dwell too much on the formal aspect of the contents of the world, do not
linger on any content, even on any form.
Push yourself beyond any shape!
Do not consider the images, the sounds, the sensations of ordinary perception –
the ones you are used to seeing in this world – as if they were real.
During the transition from the diabolical vision to the symbolic vision, your
attention will automatically shift from the form (the sensations and the daily
experiences) to the content (the meaning, the value, the consistency or not of those
manifestations). From apparent nature to true nature. From what they "look"
(solid, real objects) to what they actually are (aggregates, masses of impressions
and mental constructs).
You will notice this transition from an unequivocal signal: the contents of the
world (objects, people, events, experiences) will lose their threatening, anxious,
intimidating aspect.
For example, you may notice that you do not feel the tensions caused by the
dispersive mind, those tensions that once sent you on a rampage.
62

This change of perspective will spontaneously be accompanied by a profound trust
in this clear and profound vision.
In the diabolical vision of ordinary (asleep) consciousness you become addicted to
the sense of separation and you forget about the fundamental union.
In the symbolic vision, the vision of consciousness on the path of Awakening, do
not forget the underlying union, do not be deceived by separative impressions, by
the movements of the dispersive mind.
You will realize on your skin that the sensitive world is not as it seems.
The way out of the diabolical vision (dual, separative) is not to deny the contents
of the world, to oppose or resist their experiences, but to recognize their apparent
appearance, to consider the world for what is deep and not for what appears on the
surface, on the surface of our sensory organs.
We must learn to use the contents of the world instead of making ourselves used
by them.
Use our experiences instead of making us use them.
Treating worldly experiences in a symbolic – rather than diabolical – way means
to realize that the solution lies in the correct integration of their contents, means
remembering the union and the fundamental identity, the interconnection
underlying any apparent separation, distance.
Treating experiences in a diabolic manner, on the other hand, impedes the
harmonious integration of worldly contents, means fomenting the sense of
separation, forgetting the fundamental union, forgetting one's original identity.
Guess how the majority of humanity is experiencing their experiences ...
KEY CONCEPTS
During your path of self–knowledge you will notice the co–presence in your mind
of both types of vision and perception (symbolic, unitary, accepting, peaceful or
diabolical, separating, judging, conflicting).
63

Little by little you will learn to prioritize the correct vision / perception, the
unitary, accepting, peaceful one. Keep in mind that in the meantime old tendencies
could resist. In that case, do not be discouraged. You are asked systematically to
make one and only one decision that in its small way is able to bring you to peace
and inner calm: to choose the unified / peaceful / non–judgmental vision rather
than the fragmentary / conflicting / judging vision.
You do not have to constantly change or replace your thoughts, work meticulously
on the emotions (which derive from your vision) but only make that one decision:
acceptance or judgment; peace with yourself and others or conflict with
everything and everyone.
This decision and its vision will automatically change the contents of your mind
and your experiences.
It all depends on this unique decision–making mechanism. In the end there is not
much demand, but what seems a trivial decision is a priceless value.
This fundamental decision will have to be the only detail on which you will have
to focus, at least until the mind will spontaneously propose for a unified, non–
judgmental and peaceful vision.
I – like any other guide – can only invite you to embrace that symbolic and unitary
vision, I can urge you to reconsider the contents of the world from a completely
different perspective, but the rest is up to you. It is up to you to re–educate your
mind, it is up to you to fully embrace (or not embrace) these teachings, facilitate
the correction and integration of your partial vision, or stubbornly watch and
perceive the world and yourself in a diabolical, dual, conflictive way.
64

Lesson 10
MENTAL CONSTRUCT
Sensory impressions or illusions are a product of the so–called mental constructs.
You are the intelligence that not only builds these illusions but can also de–
construct them.
De–constructing an illusion means getting rid of the illusion, discard them.
In a metaphorical sense to de–construct the illusion also means to strip the illusion
and to see its true nature.
You can look at the illusion as if it were a construction of Lego games: so many
tiny pieces overlapping each other to form a unitary structure, a significant
aggregate – at least on an aesthetic level.
When you dismantle the pieces of this structure it begins to lose the meaning it
had previously: the more you de–construct, disassemble, strip the illusion and
more the illusion, the impression or the external appearance is weakened.
The fascinating aspect is that this process of construction and de–construction
takes place freely: the intelligence at the base of these mechanisms operates
spontaneously, building or de–constructing any impression without any effort and
in addition to the speed of light.
Countless processes of this kind are occurring in your mind and your body: in you
they are produced and then undone an incalculable number of dreams, illusions,
impressions, sensations, desires, fantasies, irrational fears and so on.
The good news is that you are neither the body nor the intellect, which alone could
see the illusions and feel the impressions or external appearances but would not be
able to recognize them clearly.
There is a difference between seeing an illusion and recognizing that it is an
illusion: the physical eye watches illusions all day but never recognizes it.
What recognizes illusions is what often nickname pure awareness.
Thanks to this pure awareness you not only recognize illusions but you can speed
up the process of de–construction or liberation from illusions.
65

For the moment it is sufficient for you to understand that mental constructs give
rise to what we vulgarly call illusions.
In the next practical volume you find simple exercises in which you can better
understand the process of construction and de–construction of illusions.
KEY CONCEPTS
All sensory illusions are nothing more than mental or perceptual constructs.
As these phenomena can be instantaneously constructed, they can be instantly de–
constructed.
Mental constructs = thoughts, judgments, information acquired from the outside
and stored in the unconscious, superstitions, desires, rules, expectations [if I do
this ... then that happens], taboo, duties [if I do not ... after not ...], paradigms,
dogmas, limiting beliefs [only this is possible ... this other thing is impossible].
Ordinary perception is continually influenced, reduced, distorted by these mental
constructs, by the illusions built by those mental contents.
Pure awareness is a tool to clean up the perceptive system and remove those
constructs that hinder our cognitive capacity and limit the faculties of
consciousness, preventing us from expressing all our potential at best.
66

Lesson 11
ILLUSION ANTICIPATES
PERCEPTION
If the illusion is found before the usual sensations, where should you look for the
illusion itself?
Before, of course ... obvious in appearance.
And yet where is it that is almost always sought?
After, that is, in the world of sensations.
Sensations are a final product of a mechanism that takes place before such
sensations. This applies to any emotion, feeling or feeling ... so it includes love,
fear, enthusiasm, sadness, joy, anger. All these manifestations (however intense
and lasting they appear) are just like the optical illusions and to realize this you
should first take a step back and look at the processes behind these manifestations.
For example, if you could identify what happens before your emotional turmoil,
you would not be systematically involved in mood swings.
What happens before your turbulent perceptions?
Before your usual perception two processes occur: a process of suspension of
disbelief – or suspension of lucidity – and a process of sensory abduction.
In this lesson we focus only on sensory rapture.
Psycho–emotional automatisms occur because your consciousness is daily
kidnapped by the senses, ie it is literally imprisoned in the sensory organs.
How does this sensory rapture take place?
Your consciousness is first enchanted and then chained.
Write this equation:
ENCHANTED = ENCHAINTED
Maya sings the illusions within us without us noticing it.
67

Maya (the mind) enchants your attention by whispering inaudible messages
followed by particular internal and external reactions. The chants of Maya are like
the lullabies we sing to children or like the sweet melodies with which the sirens
seduced the Odyssey sailors.
These solicitations are subtle and irresistible vibrations that can make you literally
do everything: from the most ferocious gesture to the most romantic act.
These sublime songs amplify or prolong the duration of sensory illusions, that is,
of the perceptive worlds in which the consciousness remains enchanted and
chained.
To say that illusion anticipates perception is like saying that the spell of the mind
precedes chaining or sensory rapture.
On the other hand, when you are no longer influenced by the enchanting mental
stimuli, the automatisms and the related sensory chains that kept you in captivity
will no longer disturb us.
This seems so easy, but in truth disenchantment is a delicate and sophisticated
process.
The main problem in disenchantment is that the conscience of many adults is still
an extremely immature consciousness, easily suggestible, enchanted and
therefore chained.
There is no need for a special effect to enchant the human conscience, indeed it is
often the most foolish suggestions to subject the conscience of the people.
At this very moment your consciousness may be in a state of sensory rapture, and
if you had not started this chapter, perhaps you would have never noticed the
existence of this process that in the east they call 'samsara'. Samsara is nothing
more than the repetition of a sensory rapture after another. The peculiarity of
samsara is passivity, ignorance and the confusing state with which one is sensually
abducted.
It's like being physically abducted and not realizing it.
How can you say?
The answer is simple: just find yourself in a state of extreme unconsciousness.
You have been kidnapped countless times but you've never noticed it.
You did not notice why you moved in the wrong direction. Instead of identifying
the origin of the chain, waste time playing with your sensory chains. You rarely
ask yourself what the origin of your reactions is and when you do so, you do not
push yourself deeply to the source of your sentimental effluvia.
68

Being kidnapped by the senses you can not see what happens before these sensory
movements. For you external appearances are the only existing reality. From your
point of view physical sensations are the primary processes of your perception.
For you there is nothing more important and authentic than physical sensoriality.
This belief is precisely what prevents you from recognizing the mechanism behind
sensory deception.
If deception is born 'first' of sensory responsiveness then you should reverse the
direction, ie direct your vector (attention) in the opposite direction to that
emotional wave. The point is that you are not used to these inversions of course,
usually you move blindly making you overwhelmed by the emotional wave of the
moment, perhaps without wondering what has triggered your reactions. In order to
see what is 'before' the sensorial deceptions it is necessary that a reversal of course
occurs first, otherwise it is impossible to understand these processes.
In order not to put too much meat on the fire, I will avoid delaying the route. This
speech will be expanded in subsequent lessons. Now I only want to make you
reflect on the unconsciousness with which you spend your life. For example,
reflect on these aspects:
What are the most striking moments of sensory abduction for you?
I give you some clues: infatuation, enchantment, crush, exaltation, obsession,
mania, possession. And these are just superficial examples.
Let's take a practical example.
The source codes of a video game are found BEFORE the video–gaming
experience: behind the screen, behind the images, the sounds, the movies that
appear on the screen.
Your senses do not know about the existence of source codes, they only tell you
that objects appear on screen such as those you see off the screen.
The senses stop to the appearence.
A virtual helmet would also make you perceive the three–dimensionality of
objects and therefore make the real object and the virtual one visibly identical.
Your eyes would not know how to distinguish the virtual object from the non–
virtual object, proving again that the senses are not the correct tool for doing this
kind of inner work.
69

You can not see the source codes, that is, the mechanisms that precede your
perception and that cause your automatisms (sensorial abductions), using the
senses themselves, or rather trusting only the gross senses.
What you have to grasp is that before or behind your everyday experiences (so–
called reals) you find codes similar to those that determine your virtual
experiences.
The brain is enchanted and therefore chained by everyday sensoriality, so it can
not recognize the source codes.
Your essence – pure awareness – on the other hand, can not only recognize the
codes but can also disengage and then remove the sensory chains.
A disenchanted conscience is an unchained conscience!
Unleashed in both senses: intimately lit by deep fire and also free from sensory
abductions.
A disenchanted conscience is able to realize that the world is not as human beings
see it.
An unchained conscience would realize that this physical Universe is a dream or a
gigantic virtual world.
This consciousness would understand that external forms are not as they are
dreamed of by the brain.
Then?
So first, do not try to understand Reality with the physical senses.
The senses show you appearances and serve to interact with them.
Instead, awareness allows you to see the source codes that oversee these sensory
appearances. Mastering the source codes means above all not being sensually
abducted by external appearances.
Before mastering the codes you must realize that the world you see is a physical
dream, that is, a dream composed of extremely dense objects. They appear solid
but they are not really. For this reason the physical plane is called the gross plane
and is distinguished from the subtle planes. This plan is illusory, not because it is
unreal but because in reality it is not as it appears. It is not a matter of denying
these sensory manifestations but of becoming aware of their true nature and
therefore of not being fooled by the underlying mechanisms.
70

When you look through the gross lenses of the physical body you do not see
Reality but you see holographic projections, that is, mirages.
The hands are like virtual gloves that make you perceive virtual objects called
physical objects. The whole nervous system is a plant full of virtual connectors.
The biological machine called the human body, the brain, the nervous system, the
meridians, the chakras are all devices aimed at giving coherence to the
manifestations of this virtual world. It is an extraordinary spectacle full of special
effects that surpass the comprehensive capacity of ordinary intellect.
To interrupt the sensory abductions of this world you should first operate at the
source code level. The source code has a language that the ordinary intellect can
not understand because it does not follow the traditional rules, those invented and
handed down by society. These primordial principles go beyond the limited logic
of man, do not follow daily conventions, do not undergo the laws of human logic.
Your awareness may include these codes but to do so you must first overcome the
beliefs from which it is limited.
KEY CONCEPTS
1)
Illusory does not mean impossible or non–existent.
Illusory means apparent, deceptive, fallacious, fictitious.
An illusion is an extremely superficial and partial perception. That's all.
Ordinary perception (that of any human being) is just illusory or superficial and
incomplete.
2)
The brain is a perpetual closed circuit dreamer machine.
At this exact moment you are making your sensory worlds as well as making your
dream worlds every night. The dream proceeds without interruption: at night you
dream with your eyes closed, during the day you dream with your eyes open.
71

The fact that a corpse has open eyes does not mean that it is alive, so the fact that
your eyes are open does not mean that you are really awake or that you are outside
the collective dream.
Even in the face of evidence, many of you would never dare to admit that your
experience is subject to constant hallucinatory phenomena. You would be able to
ascribe hallucinations to those who are imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital but
you would hardly admit that you yourself are the victims of daily hallucinations ...
it would be a shocking and unacceptable scenario for most people.
72

Lesson 12
TRIP STOPPER
The mind has immense power.
The mind is our lamp of desires, our treasure chest of forbidden dreams but also
our anonymous pusher, our most powerful drug: it allows the consciousness to
produce any phenomenon and entertain itself with any experience.
The mind can turn any impression into real physical sensation: every night and
every day is thanks to the mind that we entertain ourselves with the internal and
external appearances.
In This perspective the mind represents a wonderful instrument, I would say even
miraculous.
But when the awareness of the creative power of the mind is lacking, it can move
from the best ally to the worst enemy, from the heavenly portal to the Infernal
Portal, from a wonderful phenomenon to a horrible phenomenon.
I repeat, all this happens in the absence of lucidity, self–awareness, quiet.
In a lucid condition the daily experiences take on a whole other aspect, from bad
trip to good trip, from series of bad impressions to series of good impressions.
Who knows a little the teachings of the Fourth Way knows the importance of
impressions. According to the Gurdjieff system, impressions are literally more
vital than the air itself in the sense that a man can live a few seconds without
oxygen, but he cannot live without impressions. Impressions are the thinnest
nourishment that there is because it corresponds to the food of one of our thinnest
bodies: the psyche, which constantly feeds on impressions.
Taking the cue from this consideration I would like to immediately link to the title
of this lesson. My figure resembles that of the ' trip sitter ', I am at your side to
guide you softly to the exit from the psychedelic trip called Daily World. The
substance of which this trip is composed is precisely the daily impressions. As I
anticipated in the previous chapters, your eyes see no reality but perceive an array
of impressions that is mistaken for absolute reality. Whatever you are perceving at
this exact moment is not real, or rather it is more dreamlike than real.
73

Not even this book is really real, it approaches rather to a virtual object appearing
before your eyes. In a certain sense, your body is also a dreamlike object
imprinted in the field of your consciousness.
Before we go further we take a step back and try to give some definition.
What's a hallucination?
Having a hallucination means perceiving something that is not really there,
seeing/feeling/touching something that does not exist or better that exists only in
the mind of the hallucinated, as the illusion of the panda exists only in the mind
hallucinated by the thought of Panda.
And what is a dream?
The dream is a hallucination to the nth power, a total hallucination in the sense
that involves all the senses. It does not concern a single sense as it happens in the
simple and single optical illusions, sound, tactile, but it calls into question all the
sensory organs.
In short, having a hallucination or dreaming does not mean perceiving something
that does not exist but perceiving something that is not really as it appears, it is not
how they detect our senses or how it interprets our brains.
It would be to say that we – through the brain – do not see the world for what it is
but we see only the finished product, reworked, manipulated, distorted: it is a bit
as if the mind retouched the images with Photoshop and then presented in a
version counterfeit to our ordinary conscience.
People believe that their perceptions (the counterfeit product from the mind) are
really the original and real product, in the same way that a naïve Internaut believes
that an online photo–model really has that beautiful body.
The hallucinating or immature dreamer does not realize or even worse does not
want to admit that his are hallucinations or simple dreams.
The ordinary conscience still remained asleep and arranged to pass to the level of
'lucid dreamer' with open eyes.
The lucid dreamer with open eyes is the transposition of the lucid dreamer within
the daily activities of the world. Unlike the classic Lucid Dreamer, the one with
open eyes has expanded his conscience to such an extent that he can interact
lucidly in the world of wakefulness as he did in the world of Dreams: if you ask a
lucid dreamer with open eyes his opinion on this World he will have no difficulty
in telling you that it is a simple shared dream. He will be able to bring examples,
74

demonstrations but above all he has found the validity of his claims on his skin.
For those who have not yet made these observations, that is, for non–lucid
dreamers, it is virtually impossible to fully understand such statements.
Fortunately the previous chapters should have dispelled at least partially the
doubts about the reliability of your customary perceptions, although I realize that
in your eyes this world is not a hallucination, much less a dream or a collective
hypnosis. Everything seems so real, solid, dense, consistent, vivid that it is
impossible to make you believe that it is only a collective dream. You probably
have no idea what lucid dreams are, in which case I invite you to inform you on
the subject.
However, this resistance that you feel against such claims is the habitual reaction
that at the beginning proves all those who undertake the way of awakening.
They must be confronted with unthinkable scenarios and unlikely assumptions.
Rejection is almost always the first reaction: for the ordinary mind – extremely
distrustful and rational – these hypotheses are simply unacceptable.
In the face of certain findings, the human mind can be alarmed, go into crisis, lose
faith, fall into paranoia, become nihilistic, and carry out unjustified acts.
To use a youthful jargon your mind may stumble into a very long bad trip, that is
an escalation of increasingly unpleasant experiences.
Your life is already in itself a long psychedelic journey that can result in bad or
good trip depending on the impressions that nourish your psyche. When the
psyche is submerged by a flood of powerful impressions he ends up systematically
yielding to his own hallucinations, that is, sensory deceits.
Just as the mental condition of a person in a hallucinatory state is extremely
vulnerable, in the same way the mental condition of a normal human being,
completely identified with the physical body, is equally vulnerable. To make the
situation even more complicated intervenes the brain which is not only incapable
of recognizing the sensory deceits but also makes them more vivid and –
depending on our level of consciousness – can amplify or reduce its effect.
The first step to get out of the mundane trip is to recognize the psychedelic nature
of this world.
At the end of the day any stimulus is psychedelic in the sense that it can alter our
psyche, in this sense the impressions are the most subtle psychedelic factors but
also the most powerful.
75

The lessons of this volume are designed to provide you with a setting that will
help you to accomplish with confidence this first step, the recognition of
appearances. Without the right setting, that is, in the wrong context, it becomes
extremely difficult to recognize the power of impressions.
Once you pass the first step, you will not be at the mercy of impressions and you
will not be manipulated by external appearances.
You will pass from a bad trip to a good trip, from a sad and oppressive daydream
to a peaceful and joyful daytime dream.
To make it back to the Tibetan tradition, you will proceed from the Samsaric
dreams to the dreams of Clear Light.
This reassuring transition will benefit you as much as it takes to allow you to
accept without concern a whole series of new knowledge that if received in the
wrong context could create more harm than benefit.
The trip stopper in a certain sense is synonymous with everything that facilitates
the passage from Samsaric dreams to the dreams of Clear Light.
Samsaric dreams enclose all those unpleasant experiences typical of a sleepy or
immature conscience.
Clear Light's dreams contain the experiences that accompany the awakening of
that same consciousness that had previously been the victim of its own ignorance.
Two important indicators of samsaric dreams and of Clear Light’s dreams are the
reactivity and lucidity respectively.
The passive and intense reactivity to impressions distinguishes the consciousness
involved in Samsaric dreams.
Lucidity, that is awareness and detachment from appearances, marks the actual
landing place for the dreams of Clear Light.
KEY CONCEPTS
1)
The world you perceive is not the reality that you believe but only a succession of
impressions.
An impression is the thinnest vibration that influences both the inner and outer
world, individual and collective.
Impressions are the most powerful drug in the world, they are the substance that
76

gives shape and apparent consistency to the planetary dream.
The summation of a visual impression, plus an auditory, olfactory, tactile and
gustatory impression gives what you call 'everyday experience'.
Daytime experience (daydream) = summation of impressions.
Dream (experience with eyes closed) = summation of impressions.
Why would a color seen with eyes closed should be less real than a color seen
with open eyes?
Because this is the dominant paradigm in the majority of mankind, made up of
sleeping consciences. For a sleepy conscience the things he sees (dreams) with
open eyes are certainly objective or even more real than those seen or dreamed of
with closed eyes. This consciousness associates the dream with the act of closing
the eyes and awakening when opening the eyes. As we have already seen and we
will see later this is not a good criterion to evaluate the true awakening. Having
your eyes open does not mean being awake or even being alive.
2)
Having a very thin texture, the effect of the impressions is not immediately
perceived by the sensory organs, for this reason they are extremely insidious.
Their effects often lead to experiencing bad trips, that is, devastating energetic
spirals that suck up consciousness. These spirals are manifested in the form of
perpetual mental loops, heavy moods, obsessive thoughts, unpleasant and
persistent sensations.
Take your typical crooked day, multiply it by ten and you have a photograph of a
bad trip.
To get out of a bad trip you need trip stoppers, means to reduce the side effects of
psychedelic phenomena. In our case these lessons and the instructions of the
practical volume act as trip stopper and facilitate the jump from the Samsaric
dreams (ordinary perception) to the dreams of Clear Light (extra–ordinary
perception). With the expression dreams of Clare Light I mean all those conditions
in which the process of self–awareness and expansion of consciousness becomes
an integral part of your life and predisposes the conditions appropriate to your
awakening.
77

In the dreams of Clear Light intervene some Allied forces that align themselves to
your pure intent: the Awakening.
3)
Those who manage to move freely and lucidly on the plane of impressions have a
very advanced level of awareness.
Unfortunately, many spiritual researchers – even the most evolved – are content to
proliferate positive transformations for the only taste of extending them for as long
as possible, naively being invised in the multiplicity of external appearances and
ending in what I jokingly call the ASYLUM OF SPIRITUALITY:
The ultimate aim of mine teachings is not to be overcome by any experience, not
78

even by the most spiritually attractive ones, but the aim is to lead you to
awakening from any experience, from any kind of external or internal appearance.
4)
The trip stopper is like a medicine that brings lucidity to your conscience. It acts
both as a dissuader and a calming act to reduce your excessive reactivity to
duality, multiplicity, virtuality, internal and external appearances, thoughts, desires
and sensual provocations of the world.
Any useful means to this dissuasion can act as a trip stopper: deep meditation,
inner work, meeting with other Seekers of truth, Lucid dreaming, a book about
awakening, the instructions of an essay, an enlightening intuition. In practice
everything that increases your awareness and inner peace is a trip stopper, a
medium that at least momentarily diverts attention from the usual mental and
sensory trips.
The less trip stopper you hire, the longer the time of addiction to impressions, the
slower the awareness will be.
The more trip stopper you hire, the more intense and sudden the awareness will
be. Of course the techniques and teachings you will support from time to time
must not become a new drug, that is, an addiction. On the contrary, they must
allow you greater independence from both impressions and self–liberation
techniques.
79

80

Lesson 13
COMPREHENSION
Imagine that in a room there are people who suffer from visual, auditory or tactile
hallucinations.
What kind of understanding can there be between them?
None!
True understanding can only occur out of individual hallucinations, out of
collective hypnosis, out of the collective dream, out of the world of appearances in
which ordinary consciousness is immersed.
The fact that the individual perception is different implies that as far as linguistic
compromises can be found there will never be a true mutual understanding; Each
of us sees and perceives life in its own way, in a way slightly or strongly different
from how it is perceived by others. This perceptual discrepancy, which represents
the norm of our perceptual system, makes any attempt to absolutize a concept, an
idea, a conviction or a personal truth in vain.
Understanding lies beyond subjective perceptions, beyond impressions, beyond
thoughts, beyond personal beliefs... which would mean that in the example of the
room full of hallucinated people understanding can only happen when the
witnesses are in a non–hallucinatory state, that is, when consciences are not
enchanted, hypnotized, asleep, addicted to outward appearances.
In social terms hallucinations are regular alterations of the nervous and perceptual
system. These alterations occur continuously, predominantly in the absence of our
self–awareness.
They do not happen for a metaphysical or spiritual reason, they just happen.
You must not seek supreme understanding, such as understanding the Awakening,
by following the interpretations of the ordinary mind, based on personal
impressions and subject to the volubility of the perceptual system. The authentic
and profound understanding of what you are is beyond the perceptual fluctuations
typical of everyday experiences.
81

That plan that lies beyond such alterations and fluctuations is the plan so much
praised by the wise of all time; It is the plan in which understanding is accessible
to each of us, irrespective of our idiom, belief, multiple impressions and outward
appearances.
In that place – which is not a physical place – there is the eternal understanding
between everything and everyone.
In this virtual plan – subject to continual alterations – it is possible only a
superficial, fictitious, partial understanding, which is not true comprehension, i.e.
profound comprehension.
Here – in the collective dream, in the phenomenenic world or in the
psychophysical apparatus – there is only one alternation of momentary
impressions, from whose misunderstanding arise our daily afflictions. This
succession of fleeting impressions may well become fun and interesting if it is not
taken too seriously and recognized for what it really is.
For example, you should not be obsessed with analyzing the behavior of external
appearances in order to understand your essence: Understanding the mechanisms
of ‘what you are not’ does not help you to understand the characteristics of ‘what
you are’, ie. of your true nature; Understanding the false identity does not serve
you to understand your true identity; Understanding how a car works does not
explain how the driver's body works. When you have a toothache you don't go to
the electrician… I hope.
Many of you are like that driver who confuses one's identity with that of the
automobile.
Understanding the biological machine (body) should not increase attachment to it
but the detachment from it, that is, it should only serve you to stop identifying
yourself with such a biological machine and with the world concerning that
machine; Understanding appearances serves you to stop identifying yourself with
such appearances; Understanding the illusory body serves you to stop identifying
yourself with the false identity; To understand ‘what you are not’ helps you to
recognize ‘what you are’; Understanding lies and deception helps you to avoid
them and to get closer to the truth.
The same is true with the profound understanding of what you are related to the
motion of external appearances: do not confuse one with the other; Do not
compare what happens to the biological machine with what should happen to you;
Do not use the daily impressions – experiences, sensations, emotions, thoughts
82

– as a yardstick of your true identity; No external appearance (daily
experience) represents a suitable yardstick to measure or understand what
you are or what is reality!
You will have all heard the slogan of Gestalt "The whole is worth more than the
sum of the individual parts". Behold, here the same discourse is worth: the sum of
partial understandings – derived from external appearances, impressions,
subjective perceptions – will never be equivalent to the total understanding of
truth or reality. Upon awakening from collective hypnosis you will find the factual
relevance of this simple reasoning.
To further simplify the lesson, imagine that you are awakened by an enigmatic
dream, in which you have made incoherent and incomprehensible actions.
When you woke up from that dream, would you still feel perplexed and
disoriented for what happened in the dream?
Would you try to understand the meaning of those inconsistent scenes or would
you let them lose?
Obviously when you wake up in your bed you do not spend the whole morning in
an attempt to understand the meaning of those dreams and even if you reconsider
them you would understand that at the base of those experiences there was only an
interminable succession of impulses, fantasies, hallucinations, unfounded fears,
unsatisfied desires, futile unresolved issues.
The same attitude should be maintained with the daily impressions and external
appearances: do not use them to establish your true identity or to understand the
meaning of life, as many alleged visionaries do.
Do not use the succession of emotions, desires, fantasies, thoughts, nerve
impulses, hormonal inputs to understand the ‘hidden meaning’ of something or
somebody.
Never expect a final understanding from the fleeting impressions of this world, but
enjoy the apparent suspense, wonder and tragicomicity that these impressions
induce in the form of emotions and physical sensations.
Although in the midst of this wasteland of impressions can not logically reside a
true understanding, there can still be an exchange of data, information, insights
useful to entertain in this dimension.
When you entertain yourself in the collective dream, do not stare with the idea of
83

having to understand or make someone understand something; Do not worry about
the difficulties of understanding; Let everyone entertain as and how much he/she
wants with his own impressions and never forget that the authentic
understanding goes beyond any external appearance, any subjective or
collective impression.
Understanding is not something to transmit or receive, rather it is already
part of our true nature. Among other things it says the very etymology of the
word comprehension, which literally means 'to contain in itself, embrace': in this
sense each of us already contains within oneself the essence or the truth, which is
innate and therefore should not be sought out, analyzed, bought or sold.
KEY CONCEPTS
In us there is already the essence, there is already the truth, there is already
happiness, there is already peace!
There is no need to understand anything else, because in us there is already
everything!
We must not seek the truth because we are the canisters of truth!
We are the truth that we seek in others, in the world, in the body, in the mind, in
dreams!
We must not re–understand the truth, re–know it, remember it... the truth is
always with us, within us!
84

Lesson 14
VALID KNOWLEDGE
Real knowledge = knowledge about reality, not about the dream otherwise you
should call knowledge about the dream, ie about the non–reality.
The subject, to know himself, does not need to know the objects: that would be
knowledge about the object (the non–subject).
The subject is enough to know that the objects experienced and known are not the
subject, that is, it is enough to know that they are not what seeks, the essence, the
true identity.
To you–subject–just know that you are not the body nor the mind, that your
happiness is not dependent on what satisfies the pleasures of the body nor from
what can satisfy the desires of the mind.
The satisfaction of the subject does not depend on the reactions (mental,
emotional, chemical, neural, physical) of the body–mind object.
If you seek happiness in the body or in physical/social relationships between
bodies or if you seek it in the mind or in verbal/intellectual relationships among
other minds, you will never be truly happy because you are seeking your
happiness (the happiness of the pure subject) in the wrong place (in the objects).
Examples of objects:
Body and everything about the body (moods, emotions, physical sensations);
Mind and everything about the mind (thoughts, judgments, desires, dreams);
World and everything about the world (external appearances, visual appearances,
sound appearances, etc.).
The knowledge about these objects (body, mind, world) is valid to know better the
objects themselves but it is not a valid knowledge about the subject, that is it does
not help when one wants to know something about the subject (your true identity).
The knowledge of a car is useful to travel better on that car but it is useless when
85

one wants to study the anatomy of the human body; In the same way the
knowledge of the body is useful when you want to modify the sensations produced
by the human biological machine, but it is useless when you want to study the
subject, the driver of the biological machine called human body.
In even simpler terms, the knowledge and mastery of the contents of the dream is
useful, indeed interesting, when you want to prolong or enrich the dream with new
experiences but it is useless when you want to apply those knowledges to the real
subject, to the body Real.
You cannot apply the knowledge of the object (body, dream) to the subject (reality,
Your true identity): When such knowledge is applied to your essence it will not
lead you to anything; In this sense, the knowledge of the object – if addressed to
the subject – is worthless knowledge.
The knowledge of a fairytale or virtual place is worthless when you want to know
a real environment: you can know in Menadito all the details of that virtual world
(daily world, human body, society) but none of these details will be relevant when
You want to know the reality.
None of the information (conditionings) you have received from the company is
useful if your goal is to know who you really are, to realize your true identity.
No sensory data you've received from the world can come in handy when you're
investigating your true nature.
No sensory data that you have received from your dream is really useful for the
recognition of reality.
Knowledge does not exclude the other: You can continue to know the world, the
body, the dreams, the mind and at the same time realize your true identity; The
important thing is not to confuse the two levels of knowledge, not to apply the
knowledge of the surface to move in depth: the knowledge of surface is good to
move only on the surface, to play with the social, physical, emotional, mental
plan.
There is nothing wrong with the knowledge of the collective dream, as long as it is
recognized and not extended to reality or confused with reality!
Summarizing
Satisfying only the body you are not bringing happiness to yourself (subject) but
you are only bringing pleasure to the object (body);
Seeking happiness with intimate, sexual, sentimental relationships between one
86

ody and the other you are again bringing pleasure to the body and not happiness
to the true subject;
By fulfilling the desires of the mind, you are only fulfilling the fantasies of the
mind and not your true nature;
By researching the happiness among the phenomena of the world you are bringing
energy to external phenomena but not to your true nature;
By seeking happiness in the dream you are only proclaiming the duration of the
dream!
I rephrase: By seeking happiness in the collective dream, that is in the world of all
days, you are only proclaiming and supporting outward appearances, you are
extending your state of enchantment to collective hypnosis.
You are free to prolong this enchantment as long as you are free to give us a cut...
KEY CONCEPTS
1)
Ramana Maharshi used the example of trash: How often do you have to check the
trash before you throw it?
One or not even one because once you know that it's rubbish you don't think about
it anymore.
As soon as you know that you do not need, because it is only rubbish, do not
waste any more time: do not search in there, inside the trash, what is precious.
Ramana suggested considering the contents of the mind as rubbish: thoughts,
judgments, desires, expectations, remorse, mental films, insinuations like ‘if only I
had... if only she had... ‘.
This material that fills the mind is rubbish. People don't usually throw this rubbish,
but they keep it, they think it's precious, they reprocess it for days, months, years.
It broods on the collective dream, it is enchanted by all the external appearances
filling its mind with rubbish, that is to say useless judgments.
87

2)
Taking the example before we assume that there are two containers, one for
appearances (collective dream, world, body, mind) and one for the essence
(reality).
Humanity is accustomed to go in search of the essence within the container of
appearances: It seeks true happiness in the fleeting physical sensations; Seeks the
truth in the midst of deceptions, dogmas, conditionings, and the superstitions of
society; Seeks peace and silence amid desires and conflicting judgments of the
mind.
As long as it maintains this attitude, what will it be if no further deceits, desires
and conflicting judgments?
You have to stop looking for yourself or your essence, in the container of external
appearances, in the physical sensations, in the thoughts of the mind, in the
opinions of society.
To seek the essence in the mind means to trust its judgments, to indulge the
whims.
Searching for the essence or happiness in the body means going to the vain search
for more and more intense sensations, more and more powerful emotions, more
and more intense relationships.
To seek the essence in society means to join and rely on one of the many
external authorities, systematically neglecting the internal authority.
88

Lesson 15
REALTY = ENERGY GENERATOR
Originally, the word happiness was indicative of fertility, fruitfulness, abundance,
generosity.
Happiness = Fertility = Ability to generate (fruits, energy)
In this perspective it is understandable why Oriental traditions use the expression
Sat–Cit–Ananda (Truth–consciousness–bliss). They made the last reality coincide,
our true identity of pure conscience, with the bliss understood as authentic
happiness.
True happiness = Ability to generate (vital energy) = Superabundance of vital
energy = Bliss
Then, thinking back to the word generosity, I came up with the concept of 'energy
generator' expressed in Castaneda's books. At some point in the training, Don Juan
explains to Castaneda that the energetic body is real in the sense that it generates
energy.
Reality = Energy Generator
For real you can understand everything that is able to generate energy.
Joining the dots:
Reality = Energy Generator = Bliss = Genuine Happiness = True identity (pure
conscience)
The underlying reality of our true identity is happiness.
89

We fall into the spell of worldly transience or impermanency every time we
believe that energy is generated from an external source, from something separate
and different from our identity.
In the planetary dream we have forgotten our true nature and we desire happiness,
that is, the abundance of vital energy.
Why do we seek energy?
Because we have forgotten that we are energy generators, we have forgotten that
we are the reality.
We attributed to the outside world, to the collective or individual dream, the
quality of reality and we forgot that we are the reality that comes before anything,
we have forgotten that we are more powerful than any external appearance; We
are, in the role of pure conscience, to influence any phenomenon and not
viceversa; Pure consciousness always interacts with itself; There are no other,
there are no middle worlds, there are no intermediate plans; There is only pure
consciousness.
This is the ultimate vision of a consciousness awakened to itself.
This is the reason why the wise men remember that all desires are ceased upon
awakening.
The desire, that is to seek external energy, means to ignore one's own reality, our
nature as generators of energy. When this ignorance of our true nature is dissipated
then we stop wanting energy in the form of events–people–external objects.
When we wake up we re–know each other, we self–realize, we realize our identity,
that is we recognize that we are the only one that generates energy.
When we wish, ‘we sin’ in the sense that we are deported from our true nature; We
sin because we ignore our incalculable power, we neglect our essence; We sin
because we seek out what is in us. Sinning means this, nothing but diverting,
ignoring, blindly wishing and stray into a glass of water.
This is the condition of an immature dreamer, of a sleepy conscience.
An awakening consciousness recognizes its own reality, realizes that in truth it
was always wishing itself, was looking for what it can not find in dreams or in an
external and separate world. With that attitude can never find its own identity for
the simple reason that one believes other by itself, other than pure energy.
An energy generator that feels devoid of energy, that seeks and desires energy, will
always fail, never be happy by reasoning and acting that way.
90

When he understands it, he will remember that happiness not only resides within
himself but coincides with his true nature of bliss, truth, and pure energy.
As soon as the identity search itself it will not found itself... As soon as it stops
searching it finds himself.
Identity can not even identify itself with itself... it is the mind (the intellect) that
believes to lose the sense of identity and therefore strives to identify itself.
The real identity can only always be identical to itself, without effort, without
attempts at identification.
Striving to identify oneself means forgetting oneself or starting from the
assumption that it is not identical to the true identity of pure conscience. The
ordinary mind is part of this fallacious assumption, from here derive all worldly
and spiritual attempts to reunite with the ultimate reality, with the self. These
attempts were, are and will be unsuccessful because in the last resort there is
nothing that should be done, nothing that pure conscience should do to ' be ' pure
conscience.
It can't become because it already is.
What he can do is pretend to become one believing himself other, different,
separate from himself... just as it happens all the time in this planetary dream.
KEY CONCEPTS
Energy is energy.
There is no positive–negative energy, good–bad, better–worse, pure–impure.
Energy does not belong to anyone or wanting belongs to all: there is not my
energy and your energy.
Energy is impersonal, undifferentiated, as the force that moves such energy is
impersonal.
The ordinary vision is dividing, distorted, dual: it does not see, it does not perceive
and does not understand the purity and the undifferentiation of the energy.
Energy is one but the dual mind sees two, three, one thousand.
Differentiating, dividing, seeing two kinds of energy is a deception of the dual
mind.
91

Not recognizing the energy itself, you lose in endless separations and distinctions.
The energy of the unified field has no real separations. Separations are successive
distinctions made by the dualistic mind.
The awakened consciousness sees that there is only one wave of pure energy.
The distinctions from which the superficial judgments spring, the frivolous
opinions of the intellect or the seductive impressions of the body are due to the
inability to recognise the undifferentiated flow of energy. When you melt and let
yourself be transported by this flow, judgments fall like a castle of sand
submerged by a wave of pure awareness.
92

Lesson 16
DIALOGUE BETWEEN AN
AWAKENED BEING AND AN
OPEN–EYED DREAMER
In this chapter we simulate a conversation between a consciousness on the path of
awakening – so not completely asleep – and an awakened one.
These dialogues are taken from some personal conversations I had with some
users. Beyond the linguistic expressions I used you can find affinities with the
language expressed in the dialogues of Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj
or any other awakened: this affinity is due to the fact that all the sages essentially
repeat the same message; Each one formulates it with the terms that are most
congenial to him, with the similarities and linguistic expressions typical of that
time; The sage of three thousand years ago said the same things that the sage of
today.
The form (illusion) changes continuously... the essence (Reality) never
changes!
Awakened (R) = ZeRo (author of the book)
Dreamer (S) = Luisa (arbitrary name of the person with whom these dialogues
were performed)
FIRTS PART
R– Hi Luisa, how's it going?
S– Definitely better, especially because I start to feel the sense of lightness that
you often talk to me.
93

I am familiarizing myself with the concept of collective dream, that is how
consciences actively participate in the construction, destruction and reconstruction
of this world and all its external appearances.
R–Great!
When you realize that everything you're experiencing is practically a dream, you
gain a certain kind of lightness and detachment that allows you to start taking
yourself less seriously. This lightness is the first step to be able to vary your
vibrational state, and if you can alter the vibrational state you can also move freely
in the daytime or nocturnal dream. Of course this requires some inner maturity.
S– But even if I could move freely in the world or collective dream, I still belong
to the dream, I'm still inside the dream, right?
R– Yes and No.
No, in the sense that you don't belong to the world anymore, you are not a slave to
external events and not even internal. Moreover – being really free to move with
the energetic body – you could move also out of the collective dream, that is out
of this world.
Yes, in the sense that in the end any 'displacement' takes place within the ‘Cosmic
Dream’: From the terrestrial dream you can move towards the events of the
extraterrestrial dream, to the events of other worlds or of other galaxies... but in
the end everything takes place in the Cosmic Dream.
Better to wait before going into this topic, it is still early and may confuse your
ideas or discourage you.
S–No! Wait a minute, I just want to know if it's worth it or if you can get out of the
cosmic dream... although in part I realize that this question might not make sense.
R– Don't worry about the intellectual confusion, you'll see that everything will be
clarified by itself.
Yours is a question you can answer by yourself.
However my answer is no, it doesn't make sense your question for the simple
reason that you 'don't have to' get out of any dream, from any imaginary place,
from no external appearance, from any Matrix.
You don't have to get out of the planetary dream for the simple reason that you
94

never really came in; You only got the impression and you lived that impression as
if it were a real experience, a 'real place', a real problem.
Unfortunately you cannot understand this response in a state of identification with
your body or with the appearances of this world.
S– Although I realize my strong identification with the world of daily illusions, I
think I have grasped the meaning of your words, at least in part.
R– Ramana Maharshi used this nice analogy:
How does a hypothetical imaginary entity – a character of your imagination –
solve a real problem?
How does a dreamer wake up or get out of the dream?
S– I don't know...
R– He can't do that!
The imaginary Entity – the dreamer – cannot do anything in reality!
The actions of the dreamer influence – it is to say – only on the dreamlike world,
but not on the real one.
Among other things, he who hypothetically 'comes out' from the dream is not the
dreamer but the awakened one: when you come out of a dream night you do not
do it in the shoes of the dreamer but in the shoes of consciousness that moves from
the world dreamed towards the body so–called real, that stretched to bed.
However, the displacement you make every morning, from the dream to the body
lying in bed, can you call it ‘entry and exit’?
No clearly. You have never gone out of the body and entered the dream and
therefore you have never gone out of the body or dreamlike world and returned to
the real body.
From the point of view of real identity you have never entered the dreamed world.
It is only when you are immersed in the dream that you think you have entered
somewhere; This happens because of the spell that external appearances exert on
your conscience and this spell in turn is due to another spell; The momentary loss
of consciousness, the forgetfulness of your true identity.
When you lose consciousness of yourself and imagine entering an imaginary place
is not that you really enter that place, you only have the impression of finding
yourself there.
For this reason I do not like the verb to come out, because it presupposes that
95

the dreamer consciousness really entered the dream, while it would be more
correct to say that it had the impression of entering (to be born) in the dream.
Let's take a practical example.
Try to animate with your imagination a character that is in your mind. Pretend it
has all the characteristics of a human being.
Now get him to do something, have him open a drawer.
S– Emh... sorry but what you ask me is senseless and impossible!
R– Senseless perhaps, impossible I would not say since this drawer is not as real
as it seems.
However, the point is that an imaginary entity cannot do anything because it is
non–existent. It seems to exist only in the minds of those who are imagining it.
The human collective dream appears real only to human dreamers.
Now tell me:
If we consider this body (your body) as a dream–body, how can it wake up alone
from the collective dream?
S– Assuming that your hypothesis is true, it is impossible for this to happen.
But then there was never any human being awakened?
R– Sticking to the starting analogy no, no man has ever awakened.
And here's the thing... who ever said you were just a human being?
S– And what would I be then?
R– What do you think you are?
S– What 'I think'?
I want to know what I am, not what I think I am.
R– Do not see the presumption of your statements.
You don't even know what you believe in or how your mind has been conditioned
however you presume that you can 'know or understand' who you are, rather you
claim it arrogantly.
96

S– Yes, I'm sorry, I just feel a little lost.
R– That's why I invite you to go with the leaden feet.
Let's try to continue the speech.
What I first wanted you to understand is that before you know or understand what
you are you really have to stop believing what you imagine to be. You have to stop
believing what your conditioned mind is believing.
In simple terms, to recognize your presence you have to stop believing in
appearances.
S– Actually over the years I have accumulated many beliefs about my identity, but
I admit to ignoring my true nature. In a way I know and feel I'm more than that,
but I can't define myself...
R– Do you know the play 'so is it (if you like)' of Luigi Pirandello?
Without having to dwell on the plot, we can synthesize the work by saying that
you, the others, the body, the world appear in a way but none of what you see or
perceive is really that way.
Nothing is as it appears, and yet to your mind that nothing can look like
everything, it can take any form: any impression (in practice nothing) can
look like real experience.
The ordinary mind is made to believe any impression and there is no way that this
mind ceases to believe the outward appearances: The good news is that you are
not the mind and you are not required to believe the external appearances.
S– How can I stop believing in external impressions and appearances?
R– Being aware of their true nature.
Usually to whom do you entrust yourself in daily life, to the ordinary mind or to
the pure awareness?
S– To the ordinary mind... and practically never to pure consciousness.
R– See that everything starts to become clearer.
Since the mind needs similarities I propose one that fits very well: at the moment
97

you are identified with an imaginary body that is in an imaginary world.
I know that the expression 'imaginary world' can sound disturbing as scenario so if
it makes you feel better imagine you are in a virtual world.
S– It's not that it makes me feel better to find myself in a virtual world, but it
seems to me a less frightening scenario of the imaginary world.
R– Ok.
The imaginary or virtual entity in question refers to your habitual identity, to your
'daily self'; He is the character who believes he is really in this dimension, that is
he believes it is real and not dreamlike or virtual.
Such an entity – the illusory body with which you are identified – cannot wake up,
cannot know who it is, cannot know reality.
But you are not the illusory body, you are something preexistent, something that is
before this imaginary entity, before the physical body, before the world.
Think back to the entity I made you imagine a while ago.
You existed before, while that entity is 'born' (appeared) after you, it was a product
of your mind; You gave her energy, you gave her life, although it's an apparent
life.
When you dream the same thing happens: your real identity precedes all the
characters of your dreams, they are only extras that last as long as you dream, as
long as you believe in them; As soon as you wake up they vanish.
They existed because you believed in them, in those appearances, and fed them
with your energy.
The power of your mind is unimaginable.
Now you exist as 'Luisa' just because you are believing in her, you are believing
that you are really a woman named Luisa. You're keeping the I (or the self) called
Luisa alive, you're animating this character in this dimension, just as you keep all
the characters of your night dreams alive while you dream them... only that instead
of lasting about ten minutes as happens every night, the character Luisa lasts a
little bit more.
Yet none of the characters you dream about are really alive, so even these
characters – these fragments of consciousness – of the terrestrial dream are really
living.
Consciences are truly alive only when they awaken to their true and eternal nature.
As long as they believe to be mortal beings they are still 'dreaming of living', they
98

are still believing in outward appearances, space–time impressions.
And think that all this little mess is merit or fault of the mind or if you prefer is
merit/demerit of your conscience... it seems that humans prefer the term
conscience to mind.
However – whether you prefer mind or conscience – this dimension is full of
dreamy bodies, appearances, ectoplasmas, phenomena and substantiated entities of
psychic energy, virtual experiences, holographic projections.
S– OMG, what a chaos... I'm losing the thread.
How can I become aware?
How can I wake up?
R– First of all what you need to do is stop seeking awakening as a dreamer, in the
role of a 'human being', that is, being identified with the ectoplasm, with the body,
with the dreamy character or the human projection named 'Luisa'.
Luisa is a projection of pure consciousness, of the great mind.
Some traditions indicate our true nature as a great mind to differentiate it from the
small mind, that identified with its own projections, with terrestrial or
extraterrestrial thought forms appearing in the cosmic Dream.
The little mind is the ego, it is you while every night you dream of being who you
dream to be and while every day you dream of being Luisa.
The great mind is always you when you stop believing day or night dreams and so
when you wake up from the character Luisa.
Attention!
Luisa will not wake up, but it will be you – as an essence – to wake up to Luisa,
from the dreams of the little mind named Luisa.
When you wake up from here you will wake up as a great mind, infinite, pure
consciousness.
And in that awakening you will realize that you have never been Luisa!
In reality there is only that infinite and indefinable being, in the dream (individual
or collective) instead 'seem' to exist myriads of limited entities and 'definable' by
names and forms.
Just cease identification with what you think You are currently (Luisa), ie just
cease identification with a psychic identity (dreamlike), you'll see that there will
99

not even need to get any enlightenment, self–realization, awakening.
All clear?
S– Better already... I feel decidedly uplift from these last messages of yours.
R- In summary the nature of events occurring in nocturnal dreams is the very
nature of the events that happen here in this world.
During your daytime dreaming – daily perception – you’re confusing your deep
and essential identity with the apparent and superficial, just as every night you’re
confusing an identity with the other.
When you’re dreaming do you decide your dream or everything happens
spontaneously?
S- It's all spontaneous.
R– Well, here you have spontaneously identified yourself with a character.
But now you have a chance to stop believing in that character.
You can continue to participate in the collective dream but you will do it with a
completely new awareness, with the awareness of your authentic identity.
Obviously there is still work to be done, there is still so much identification to
dissolve, but now you have the opportunity to act as a dreamer lucid with your
eyes open and this offers you countless practical advantages, first of all not to be
piloted by Collective Hypnosis. Now you are no longer a naïve and passive
dreamer. You are no longer at the mercy of other lucid dreamers, you are not prey
to entities inhabiting this dimension.
S- Now what do you advise me to do?
R– I advise you to keep these teachings with care, to give continuity to this
lucidity, to maintain a penetrating gaze as you move in this dimension.
A lucid, disenchanted and penetrating gaze does not stop at the appearance,
pierces any experience and comes directly to the essence of any phenomenon.
No exterior appearance – however sound and realistic – can enchant a lucid
and penetrating look.
No experience can charm a disenchanted conscience.
No terrestrial hologram can be a way of awakening consciousness.
100

SECOND PART
S – Can you explain to me the idea that nothing really happens...
R – That phrase implies that in reality nothing different and separate from reality
never happens.
For example, outward appearances that seem separate from each other are not
really as separate as they seem to physical eyes. From the point of view of deep
awareness the daily illusions of separation and multiplication are not really
happening, in this sense nothing happens in reality.
Again, if there is only the eternal present, can something else happen?
S– I didn't understand the question.
R– If the present or reality is the only thing to really happen, can something else
happen, something different from reality or from the present?
S– No, something different from the present or the reality cannot happen.
R– That's right.
The present reality is the only thing that happens and the beauty is that it happens
all the time.
It happens uninterruptedly, there are no real interruptions to reality!
Nothing interrupts the present.
No past and no future alternates with the present.
But to say that it happens continuously or say that nothing else happens, it means
to say that everything that is different from reality does not exist, that which is
101

different from the present does not exist.
What is different from the present?
S– Past and future.
R– And what is different from reality?
S– The unreality!
R– Ok, be more specific.
S– The unreality means dreams, thoughts, impressions and therefore the
perception and the habitual experience which is nothing but a conglomerate of
impressions.
R – Okay, here we go.
You forgot to mention this world to your list of unreality.
This same world does not exist, it only appears as individual dreams appear. It's a
slightly longer dream.
An appearance that lasts a lot and one that lasts little have the same nature, are
only appearances: it is not that a hologram or a dream that lasts ten seconds must
be considered more true or real than a hologram/dream that lasts ten or one
hundred years.
"It can't be a dream because this experience or this world lasts too long."
It would be foolish to reason so, yet this is the way of reasoning that prevails in
this society.
Little or so long are concepts that can only deceive a consciousness haunted by the
concept of time and unaware of the concept of eternity.
Returning to the topic, the terms reality and present can be understood as
synonyms of eternity.
Eternal derives from the Latin ' ex ' (out) and ' Ternum ' (ternal) and can be
translated as "outside the temporal triad past–present–future".
Among the various definitions that you can find the most popular is that according
to which the eternal 'has no beginning or end'... or the opposite of the concept of
102

time or becoming.
Eternity essentially means absence of time, absence of occurrence.
The events require temporality. In eternity there can be no becoming, but only
pure being.
That is why it is said that nothing ever happens... it is like saying that in reality
there is no becoming, there is only the pure being.
S– If nothing happens, then no one has awakened?
R – Yes, to be exact there is no 'I' that awakens.
By the way, you already asked me this question...
The fact is that you are inherently awake, awakening (full consciousness, lucidity)
is your innate nature.
If you are awakened from birth you cannot become one.
You can become it – rather pretend to become it – only if you do not think you
are: roughly it is this that makes the ordinary conscience, believes in appearances
and then seeks the essence.
To become something (awakened) you must believe you are something else (not–
awakened, dreamer).
In truth we are all awakened from birth, only that we believe something else.
The dreamer mode occurs when consciousness is believed to be the other.
The Lucid dreamer mode is when consciousness begins to recognize itself and
the nature of dreams.
The awakened consciousness mode is the one in which there are no more
doubts about one's nature or the nature of the world.
The point is this: if you are always awake can there be an awakening?
No, there may be the impression of awakening thanks to the stratagem of falling
asleep, of dreaming, of forgetfulness of self, of sense of separation.
To become a butterfly you must first be a caterpillar; If you're already
butterfly it's silly to try to become butterfly.
What most researchers do is this silly act of rebecoming what they already
are. The more they strive to re–become what they are, the more they suffer
interiorly, they suffer, they plague. As soon as they stop wanting to become what
they already are, they again feel the sense of union, completeness, bliss,
primordial freedom.
103

In the end all are destined to awaken from the impressions of the little mind, for
example waking up from the concept or sense of the I.
All consciences are destined to break their own spells, no matter how strong and
emotionally engaging those spells are.
The spell is something that seems to be there, but it's not really there.
The very act of breaking the spell is imaginary.
At some point your pure conscience will discover that you have never done
anything, that you have never suffered anything!
Here again we return to the maximum "nothing ever happens".
Believing you not–awake or seeming not self–conscious enough does not affect
the fact that you are already a awake, pure, luminous conscience.
A hallucination does not alter reality!
The impressions that appear in this dimension do not touch your true nature.
Your true nature is a fact while everything that seems to happen in or out of the
body/world is not a real fact, it seems only.
Throwing it on the laugh, the collective dream seems a fact only in the eyes of a
stoner... in the eyes of a stoner everything is amazing, miraculous, impressive,
phenomenal.
In the eyes of a sober, awake, conscious person everything is equanimous,
indistinct, neutral; His perception is indifferent to the impressions of some stoner
(dreamer).
By sheer curiosity, do you know what the acronym F.E.A.R. means?
S – No.
R– F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real).
Beyond the infinite external facts, seemingly real, there is only one reality,
indivisible, devoid of connotates, free from any form, free from any nomenclature,
always identical to itself.
To happen implies the becoming which is the opposite of pure being.
Becoming implies a change from a previous identity, but you – the real identity –
is always the same.
104

There can be no occurrence in something always the same.
In reality, in your true identity, nothing ever happens... there is only pure being.
No becoming means no birth, no death, no rebirth, no true relationship between
consciences asleep, no ego that really converses with another I, no dreamer who
really interacts with another dreamer... These phenomena, the Phenomena of this
world, are seemingly real external facts, appearances that do not occur in the
reality of pure being; They seem to happen only as long as there is involvement
with the becoming, with the dream, with the appearances, with the impressions,
with the seemingly real external facts.
It is thanks to this apparent involvement of the essence with the appearance
that everything seems so realistic: without the essence there would be no
sense of reality.
You are the essence that injects reality to your dreams, to your sensations, to
your experiences, to the world.
Usually your mind thinks that it is the outward appearances that give 'reality'
to you, to your identity, to your essence.
S – Yes, it actually makes a lot of sense what you say.
R– Can you feel the inner turmoil generated by the recognition of your true
identity as pure being, immutable and always awakened?
S– Yes, but it's still a little vague... it's like a strange vibration that's brewing inside
of me every time I take awareness of these truths.
R– Resonance... These truths are resonating in you, in your innermost.
It's a good indication of inner maturity.
S– About clues, what are the main steps of an consciousness on the way of
Awakening?
R– Can be misleading reasoning in terms of step, however the salient steps are as
follows.
First you awaken (i.e. disillude yourself) from the idea of being the daydreamer.
The daydreamer would be Luisa, the character who believes to perform actions in
the cosmic dream, or in this universe. The conviction of being this body is the
105

great spell at which you initially wake up.
Once this spell (identification with the human dreamer named Luisa) breaks for
real, something wonderful happens: Your consciousness is catapulted to itself, it
spontaneously recognizes its own identity.
The breaking of the spell of the ego is like a cold water shower: it wakes you up
completely!
This is the awakening, a cold shower that dissipates the false identity, removes or
dissolves the impressions of the dreamer.
When you wake up you say the fateful sentence: "It was just a dream... and yet it
seemed so real!"
The Dreamer (ego, the sense of self, the part of your identity attached to personal
history) must not be extinguished, killed... it is only acknowledged in its
inconsistency.
You don't have to look back and make sure that your ego has really been
removed.
There never was!
He can't resurrect!
He can't persecute you... at least he can't do it on your level of disenchanted
consciousness, that is when you're aware of your essence!
It can (apparently) persecute you only if you remain identified and enchanted by
appearances, that is, when you remain at the level of ordinary consciousness,
asleep.
Remember that what you dream of right now – in that body or in this world –
appears but does not really exist!
Do not try to understand this discourse with the ordinary intellect, that is that of
the dreamer, because it does not want and can not understand these messages.
He will refuse to do so.
Simply accept these messages with pure awareness.
Keep an open mind and receptive to this new information.
Let them enter, pass and resound in the field of your conscience.
Do not filter them with the intellect, do not analyze them, do not mull over too
much otherwise they will not hit the target: your bare conscience, devoid of
preconceptions.
106

In 90% of cases nothing happens because the intellect or ego prevents these
messages from reaching their destination.
Many people do not allow these content to enter their cognitive system.
Some conditions favorable to the reception of these messages are the silence, the
inner peace, the absence of judgments, doubts, fantasies.
By proliferating the internal dialogue, the fantasies, the judgments, the intellect
prevents the creation of the conditions favorable to the reception of these
teachings.
Billions of people have read or listened to these messages but not with an open
mind, receptive, silent, peaceful, trusting attitude. Even before listening, many
people have already reached their conclusions dictated by their conditioned mind.
For this reason their conscience does not receive any real message.
Unfortunately it is very unlikely that the conscience of any human being is
receptive to these messages: if they listen, they listen with superficiality, distrust
and arrogance.
Disenchantment in them cannot take place because consciousness has not received
nor understood the underlying message: their consciousness has not been touched
by the essence of these teachings.
Disenchantment unlocks something in you, like an Epiphany that instantly makes
you realize who you really are.
Disenchantment is like a bonus that unlocks an existential level: it removes a
fundamental veil and suddenly you find yourself with a pure perceptual system,
with extremely refined qualities.
This mechanism automatically snaps as soon as you break the spell!
You don't have to accomplish anything special, no particular step, no extraordinary
effort... just disengage and BOOM!
Here you are fully present to yourself.
Such is the power of a disenchanted conscience.
[....]
THIRD PART
107

S– How do you recognize the moment that one is about to awaken?
R– An near–awakened is characterized by a total willingness to renounce the
individual dream – to the dream of the ego – and to the collective dream.
An awakening consciousness can give up serenely to any kind of experience, no
attachment for anything and no one because he realized that the events and
characters of his dreams are just nothing and nobody. He will not despair when he
loses that nothing as you do not despair when you have lost the characters and
events of the dream last night. Or are you sorry?
S– For what?
R– To have lost the relationships developed in yesterday's dream?
S– No, but it was just a dream.
R– No my dear, they were relationships and experiences woven by dense
impressions just as are the experiences and the daily relationships.
Your superficial mind looks at the reports of the nocturnal dream in a derogatory
way, as if they were less important than the daytime relations. In substance,
however, they are the same thing, an aggregate of impressions.
If you call the first only dreams then you have to call 'just' dreams even yesterday
afternoon's experiences.
S– I'm following you, in part...
R– Ok, put it this way, now you are aware of living an impermanent experience?
S– Ehm... more or less, that is I know I live an experience but I am not
accustomed to think in terms of impermanent experiences.
I don't really know if there is an awareness of impermanence in me. If I reflect on
this experience it almost makes me feel like thinking that it is ending right now
while I live, while I look at it, I describe it. It is as if the more I observed it with
the awareness of its impermanence and the more this experience loses the sense of
108

'realism'.
I don't know if I explain?
R– Well, I see we make little progress.
You cannot explain yourself because in fact the ordinary mind cannot conceive
this awareness and cannot express it with the common language.
By reformulating your remark, you have noticed for a while that what you call
daily experience is only a very long impression, and as an impression loses
realism although it seems to last for several hours.
Try explaining in your own words that 'losing realism'.
S– Loses realism in the sense that if I observe it with an intense awareness it
resembles the experience of a lucid dream, where you do not have the concept of
time or is so vague that it can not be distinguished in the past–present–future.
There's an impression of something that's not a thing, but you can't place it in any
time category. When that something (perception, experience?) is watched by the
awareness devoid of temporal concepts does not seem a permanent, lasting
experience, it resembles more to an appearance, a play of prestige that emerges
and is there just enough to be noticed or lived.
In short, it makes a strange impression to see something without the conviction or
faith in time, that is without associating it with an imaginary timeline.
R– It makes a strange impression because your mind has been conditioned to
associate anything with that imaginary timeline.
Time for the common man is like a god, an entity to which they all believe,
including atheists... except for scientists of a certain caliber who have openly
manifested distrust of this God.
Einstein's assertion: "Time (the distinction between past, present and future) is
nothing but a persistent and stubborn illusion."
Let us consider for a moment not only time but also the world as a persistent and
stubborn illusion.
Would you be willing to renounce this world, knowing that it is composed of
persistent and stubborn illusions?
S = Give up all relationships?
109

R– Relationships, friendships, family, physical body.
Are you ready to lose everything you now want, everything you believe in?
S – Oh, God, I don't know... that is, I don't think I feel so ready.
But if I look at it like a persistent and stubborn illusion yes, maybe I'd be willing
to lose it... to lose everything!
The problem is, my mind still can't reason like this...
R– Of course…
Let's rephrase the question.
You're ready to give up the collective dream.
Are you ready to give up the wonderland generated by collective hypnosis?
Are you ready to give up Luisa's dreams?
S– If it was worth it...
Wait, but you mean to say I should give up all the wonders that life gives us?
R– If you want to put it so OK... are you willing to give up all the wonders that
life gives you?
S– For better?
R– Ah ah... you're insatiable!
No, not for better or even worse!
S– Then no, I'd just like better ones!
R– Can't you see it's your ego talking?!
S– What do you mean?
R– You still don't know that you have to give up on him?
You must renounce his desires, not yours.
To his thoughts, to his beliefs, to his illusions, to his world, to his fake reality... not
to reality (which you are).
110

He does not want you to give up any of his thoughts, desires, wonders, and that
makes you wish more and more.
S – Yes, I'm following you now.
On this aspect I'm working on it, I tried to follow a lot of teachers but I see that
did not work.
My ego must be very strong because every time I think I have transcended it, it
comes out, on its own, without being instigated by me.
R– Morality of the fable you do not feel ready to renounce the world of wonders
generated by collective hypnosis.
S– Unfortunately no... but just hypothetically, let’s pretend that I feel ready to give
it up.
And then what will happen?
R – Ah ah... Too easy so.
Metaphorically I asked you "you prefer the life of the EGO or the Awakening".
You – being identified with the ego – have opted for the life of the ego.
Being attached to the world of appearances you opted for collective hypnosis.
However you are in good company, billions of other humans would have made
your own choice.
But when I asked you if I was willing to give up a dream you nodded carelessly, as
if to say "so much is just a dream, it has no value".
The mind does not realize that in truth the world is not as sacred as it seems, it
does not have all that value – that reality – that seems to have when it is seen
under the effect of collective hypnosis.
From the perspective of people enchanted by the collective dream, anyone willing
to give up the world would be considered insane as that fool reflecting on the
possibility of giving up life.
The funny thing is that by renouncing the world you would not renounce your life
or your true identity. It would be just your ego, your little mind, to lose something:
the World of Wonders, the collective dream.
111

In other words, for an awakened conscience, "losing the world = Losing a great
dream (or a great nightmare)".
This decision is incomprehensible for a conscience that has not gained the same
awareness of those who have broken the spell of collective hypnosis.
When a conscience is quite mature, lucid, disenchanted is able to understand the
(little) value of the world compared to the (great) value of awakening from
collective hypnosis.
112

Lesson 17
MENTAL CODES
The human mind tends to suffer because it is held captive by numerous codes
imposed by the external system or generated by its own ' cognitive system '.
These limiting codes can be easily detected and removed with a shred of self–
awareness. Most of the codes sound more or less like this: "I'm not supposed to
feel that way... I shouldn't feel this discomfort/anger/impatience... I shouldn't
have... he had to do this... it's impossible for things to change...".
The point is not so much remove or reset the entire system but be free from any
mental code, moral, aesthetic, social, spiritual.
How to get rid of limiting codes?
How to reset the cognitive system?
The practical volume provides many resources for acting at the source code level.
What we can do in this theoretical volume is to analyze how the Codes Act on the
Centers of your biological machine.
When the codes access the intellectual, emotional, sexual, instinctive/motor center,
they produce their respective intellectual, emotional, hormonal, instinct/motor
reactions.
Some codes are essential to the good functioning of the biological machine, while
others are totally counterproductive.
The counterproductive codes have free access in your
cognitive/nervous/perceptual system because your consciousness is in a state of
lucidity suspension: It is thanks to this suspension that some codes are able to
interfere with the correct functioning of your perceptual system; If you were in a
state of lucidity and disenchantment these codes would be immediately recognized
by your cognitive system, which would automatically prevent their access or arrest
their deleterial effect.
113

Lucidity and disenchantment make you immune to most dysfunctional codes that
enchate your conscience.
Many people are unaware of the presence of these codes and therefore do not
notice how their conduct is fully maneuvered from invisible codes located in their
brain.
But you have a great advantage because you know that there are codes
(impressions, thought forms, ideas, beliefs) that act on the biological machine.
Attention: these codes act on the psychosomatic apparatus, not on you!
You are essentially free from any code: the reception/transmission/translation of
the codes is the way in which communication occurs within the planetary dream.
You come before any code.
The codes are simply the fundamental components present within the body matrix
(body of impressions), of the social matrix, of the planetary matrix, of the
universal matrix.
Some codes act as keys that can open incredible portals; other codes instead keep
you prisoners within oppressive conditions.
Instead of worrying about all the codes installed in your cognitive system, just
observe with detachment any code and know that the awareness of your mental
codes puts you already in a privileged position: recognizing imprinting (fixed and
stored impressions in your psyche) is like seeing the Matrix codes despite their
invisibility.
With a minimum of inner mastery you'll be able to no longer be manipulated by
either internal or external codes.
114

Lesson 18
ASPARSA YOGA – Union
without contact
«I salute that yoga well–known as ASPARSA, free from relationships,
beneficial, bliss generator for all beings, free of oppositions and
contradictions.»
– Gaudapada
The Advaita Vedanta – made famous by sages as Gaudapada, Samkara,
Nisargadatta, Ramana – is also said Asparsa where 'sparse' stands for touch, touch
or 'touching' in the sense of moving, emotionally engaging. Asparsa, with the 'a'
privative, indicates what does not give handholds, what you can not contact, what
is devoid of physical, emotional, sentimental, mental involvement.
Asparsa can also be translated as absolute (' ab ' = from + ' solutum ' = loose, free,
unconstrained), "free from any limitation, restriction, condition or ties".
Although Asparsa–Yoga looks like an oxymoron this expression stands for
'absolute Union', 'union without contact', in that sense there is no contradiction.
This union is without contact or without relationship in the sense that it is not like
the physical union to which we are accustomed, that is, that between two entities
that before are separated and distant, then they approach, they relate, and finally
unite; In the Asparsa Yoga The Union is preexistent, there is no need to establish
any relationship because the union with is eternal; There is no need for a unifying
effort or action because the Union is inherent on its own nature; It is thus a matter
of union by identity which means that the Union with that is already part of your
authentic identity, of the pure being, and it is not something to be pursued with the
becoming.
It is not therefore something that can be expressed with the ordinary mind or with
the intellect, nor something grasping with the ordinary senses, nor perceptible with
115

the feelings or the emotions.
Asparsa is the Beyond... and at the same time it is your true identity, the real
identity of being, of the absolute.
Given the delicacy of the topic it is advisable to simplify the speech.
Try to think about your physical body or even better imagine the body of any
person.
Now that you have created a mental image, try to touch that body.
[Version for Lucid Dreamers – > If you are a good lucid dreamer try to do the
same experiment but in the night dream; try to touch the physical body as you find
yourself in the dream]
Can you touch it?
Is it correct to say that you are touching it?
Of course not!
You can't touch it and believing that there's a contact would be an illusion, a
madness.
The relationship between an imaginary body and your real body is the same
relationship – not–relationship – that exists between your authentic identity and
the identity with which you identify your mind, that is, the person you believe you
are in this world.
Asparsa is to indicate the NON–relationship between the beyond – ie, the
condition of awakening – and the world, the ordinary perception or your daily
experiences.
This untouchability is the universal condition of awakening.
It would not even be correct to call it condition because it is something
unconditional, but for linguistic needs it is not possible to use a different
expression. The important thing is that you affirm the point.
Asparsa indicates the condition of total awakening, a condition not conceivable by
the ordinary mind. To communicate this condition of total awakening to the
ordinary mind you can associate it with the common morning awakening. This
second analogy will clarify the other meaning of asparsa, that of non–emotional,
sentimental involvement.
At Morning Awakening you find yourself in a condition of a–sparsa towards
nocturnal dreams, that is, you do not feel emotionally or romantically involved
with the characters you loved, hated, admired, despised during the night.
116

Contempt, affection, attachment and repulsion were only experienced during the
dream, while the awakening fades both the attraction and the repulsion to those
contents.
If in the condition of morning awakening you no longer feel any emotional
involvement with the adventures or misadventures of Dreams, in the awakening
understood in the broad sense you will be in the same condition of A–sparsa (not
involvement, untouchability, disinterest, carefree) but with regard to the daytime
experiences, of the world, of the collective dream, that is to say towards the
adventures or misadventures in which your conscience is involved everyday.
KEY CONTEPTS
«It is called the path of the non–path because the path is already traced, should
not be traced with practices, rituals, efforts... you are the path itself and in this
sense the path should not be even sought!»
(ZeRo)
The Asparsin – for us awakened consciousness – is not interested in the
relationships of the collective dream, does not feel involved with external
appearances. His interest in the daily relationships, that is, for the appearances of
this world, is comparable to the interest that a player has toward a video game: He
does not really care to establish a relationship with a character rather than another,
he wants only to entertain himself, to explore that world, to cross it; Relationships
are established and lived as a pastime, not as a mandatory bond, an obligation, a
necessity; Instead of interest or sentimental involvement, he proves a simple and
neutral curiosity towards all relationships.
117

Lesson 19
FAITH IN AWAKENING
At this point some of you might ask:
Ok, I understand your lessons and all the talk about the Asparsa, the dreamy–
world, the Awakening and so on... but now what should I do?
Answer:
Stop having faith in the idea of really finding yourself here!
... here in the collective dream!
The problem is that you have an unwavering faith in the idea of actually finding
yourself in this world, in that body, in that situation, in that experience.
This faith is not something abstract but something incredibly powerful, pragmatic
and extremely effective. It is pure energy that, in the form of confidence placed in
the impressions produced by external appearances, is transformed into what you
live, feel, perceived on a daily basis.
Usually your daily faith is placed exclusively in the world, in the body, in the
mind conditioned by the system, by the family, by the opinions of others.
Do you know how many times the faith of an individual is placed in this kind of
teachings?
Never!
What you have to do then is to convert your faith.
Instead of trusting naïve realism, try to cultivate an equally intense trust in the idea
of finding yourself in a collective dream. Or try to develop an unwavering faith in
the fact of finding yourself beyond, in that, in the absolute body of pure being, in
the condition of awakening.
In a nutshell you have to decide where to store your faith:
In outward appearances or in what lies beyond the daily appearances;
In the awakening or in the collective Dream (World).
118

This faith – in one or the other condition – is what will make the real difference.
If faith is continually placed in collective hypnosis, it is no wonder that the
messages of the awakened are incomprehensible.
The trouble is that the vast majority of people do not even notice the incalculable
amount of faith that puts in collective hypnosis, that is, the whole of superstitions,
prejudices and beliefs handed down from their family, friends, acquaintances,
from school, from society. If you try to consider your situation you will find out
how much faith you put in collective hypnosis.
The first act of faith that is asked from you by the system is to consider the world
as reality and not as a collective dream!
Your mind has an immense faith in the fact of being in a real world and not in a
collective dream.
Are you willing not to put the same faith in the world?
Are you willing not to put faith in what you believe absolutely authentic, truthful,
well–known, objective?
In essence, are you willing to put faith in the other idea, in the idea that this is
a collective dream?
If you are able to make the leap of faith then there are serious probabilities that
that quantum leap will lead you to the waking condition or otherwise approach
you to that condition.
Otherwise you already know... you can keep the same faith in the world forever,
the same beliefs about everything and everyone and live as always, daydreaming
and wait for the next jump. So there's no rush. Sooner or later all are called to
make that leap... if it is not this opportunity will be next.
What I can tell you is that it will be the most wonderful jump you have ever
made... is the jump that you have always wanted to do but that you have never
done for some silly fear, a fear imposed by the outside or from within. Despite this
fear I am sure that you feel the irresistible urge to make that leap within you. You
probably do not feel ready for that jump because at your side you would like a
mate or even better an expert jumper who will reassure you on the success of that
jump in free fall.
I personally had no one to pat me on the shoulder and push me to do it. I had to do
it not by choice but because there were no alternatives; I had to do it because that
was the urgency of the moment. All the forces of existence pushed me in that
119

direction so I had to do it by force.
For goodness’ sake, I knew it was not the end of the world and that it had
happened to many other people, but when you're there for real you come
punctually distracted and pricked by the conditioned mind, which tries to
intimidate you in every way. However, if you realize that those fears are not yours
but are its fears then you'll see that everything will be ok!
A little faith in the condition of awakening and then... Jump!
And if the mind were to be hassling you with doubts and questions like, "Where is
it, what is it, how is the condition of awakening? ".
You don't listen to her.
Trust these teachings and not the insinuations of the mind, in which you have
placed too much faith.
If you jump with faith in the awakening you will soon notice that the scenarios of
your life assume a completely different disposition. This new disposition
necessarily takes place in anyone – even the most unfortunate and desperate of
individuals – because through that attitude you have aligned yourselves to the
totality of your being.
If you keep the identification with what the mind tells you every day and with
the beliefs imposed by society, then the outcome will be obvious: you'll only
continue to reproduce a bad dream (with your eyes open) after another.
In the spiritual context this means that all attempts for awakening – made in a state
of sleep, habituation, identification with the ordinary mind – will be
mathematically unsuccessful.
Why the attempts of the sleeping conscience will always be unsuccessful?
Because the more you give faith (attention, energy) to collective hypnosis, the
more the collective dream will appear real, impressive, oppressive... you’re giving
life to the world as it is conceived and perceived habitually.
To return to the Awakening condition you do not have to do something in the
current scenario (collective dream), you only have to understand its true nature,
stop believing (have faith) in that scenario, beware of the apparent reality of the
120

daily scenarios, stop believing in collective hypnosis, stop putting faith in that
hypnotic condition that characterizes the ordinary mind, the mind of the vast
majority of mankind.
So the possible choices will be these:
1 – To continue to believe in collective hypnosis, that is to believe what the
majority of humanity believes in.
2 – Put faith in the waking condition, in these teachings.
This represents the usual crossroads that everyone will have to face.
In truth it is not a true crossroads because for how many times you choose
Samsara, Matrix (The blue pill, collective hypnosis), sooner or later you will be
prompted to wake up... whether you want it or not!
Lesson 20
THE THREE STAGE OF
AWAKENING
1 – SLEEPING
It is the stage from which we all start, and it is relatively quiet.
In the daytime we carry out our work without asking ourselves more than many
questions, in the evening we chat with friends of politics, television, football... We
read three pages of anything before bedtime. We know that politicians steal, that in
Africa they die of hunger, that in the Middle East there is always war. Some days
we are sad, others cheerful, when the partner leaves us we go into crisis, when we
fall in love we are euphoric. So... we conduct what, wrongly, is called a ' normal '
life, when in reality it is the existence of the average zombie.
2 – LIMBO (MIDDLE WORLD)
It is the first step towards awakening, but it is also a long and difficult phase that
can last many years. If you have come to this course or if you are reading this
book it is because you are within this phase. It is the time when we become
unbearable for our friends and they become unbearable for us. The usual speeches
about football games, politics and the latest news from the news are starting to be
too tight. We find it meaningless. We don’t spent the evenings talking about these
topics. We begin to read books that deal with esotericism, spirituality, subtle
energies, mysteries... so we begin to talk more and more with friends and
colleagues... to realize soon that what for us is a new world to discover, for those
around us are nonsense or "things to wich you don't give too much importance."
122

[...]
We begin to judge ‘fools’ who still watch football matches instead of reading the
works of Giordano Bruno.
We don't watch television anymore, and of course, we treat those who watch it as
brain–washed. We become vegetarians and, of course, begin to judge those who
eat meat.
[...]
At the end of this phase, when we are truly awakened, we will reassure
ourselves in all respects and stop judging those who do not follow our own
path, but indeed, we will love him, and will know when it is time to speak and
when to be silent.
3 – AWAKENING
As I said before, it is the stage in which we are calm.
We don't try to convince anyone, because we don't need to convince ourselves
either.
To the extent that those that were only theories now have become inner
accomplishments, we no longer feel the need to make proselytes.
[...]
It may seem strange, but in the phase of awakening we return more 'normal',
because now we have gone beyond the personality, beyond the judgment and
beyond the division right/wrong. We no longer have to 'purify' ourselves
because we can no longer be soiled by what is material.
123

Lesson 21
SIGNS OF AWAKENING
Reactions respectively of asleep consciousness and awakened consciousness in the
face of the daily experience.
The Sleepy Conscience:
Invests everything in the wrong GPS, in a bankruptcy system and neglects the
right GPS (Great Presence Silent).
Gets persuaded by nothing and get involved with nothing.
Blindly follows any inner spin (impression) and exterior spin (outward
appearance).
Is entangled to any stupid thing.
Is enchanted by the holographic projections of this world.
Worries and succumbs to the power of imagination.
Being subjected to bad mental habits (inner spin), it constantly traces the same
infernal circles.
Never manages to give himself peace, is always looking for something or
someone who offers him something special, a little happiness, a little love, a little
freedom.
Considers the non–doing and the silence as a torture.
Cannot see beyond impressions or outward appearances because her attention is
captured sensorially, that is, caught by those impressions and external
appearances.
Does not recognize that the world and the external appearances are the
commercials of the collective dream, messages of collective hypnosis aimed at
capture the ordinary conscience.
124

Consciousness on the path to Awakening:
Does not invest in the bankruptcy system, it invests only in the Great
Silent Presence.
Being dissuaded from the deceit of duality, it lives in a constant state of
peace and fulfillment.
Is aware of outward appearances and looks at them with disillusion,
disinterest.
Doesn't take anything personally.
She ignores and overflies the futility.
Neglects what it does not deserve her attention.
Does not give thought and does not get involved unless it is strictly
necessary.
Recognizes the daily–movie, it often looks at it as a spectator and when
it comes into play it only does it for something meaningful.
Sees the correlation between the ordinary world and the world of
Dreams... knows well that one is the other.
It is neither pro nor against the judgment of others, especially of the
consciousnesses asleep or of the non–lucid dreamers.
Looks and points always further.
Acknowledges that the world and the external appearances are the
commercials of the collective dream, messages of collective hypnosis
aimed to lure the ordinary conscience.
125

CONCLUSION
The more you continue to believe the impressions of collective hypnosis or the
outward appearances of the collective dream, the more you become entangled in
them.
The solution is not to seek the way out within the hypnotic world, while
maintaining the usual dreamy attitude. Before doing any action within the
hypnotic world of everyday you need to stop, to observe with lucidity the
characteristics of the environment that hypnotizes us and finally recognize that
what we perceive is the result of a huge hypnosis , a planetary hypnosis.
As you can not escape from an imaginary place, so you should not get out of the
hypnotic world: you should not try to go out but only recognize that you have
never really entered that imaginary place, in that hypnotic world, in that collective
dream.
Your true identity has never entered into any hypnotic world, not even in the
collective hypnosis in which you think you immerse yourself daily.
Among other things, the very attempt to get out of hypnosis prolongs hypnosis
itself because it indirectly strengthens the erroneous assumption that you really
find yourself while, actually, "you just have the impression" of finding you there.
The resistance to outward appearances does nothing but reinforce the attraction to
those outward appearances and thus reinforce hypnosis itself. You don't have to
resist or fight any external hypnotic phenomena, you only have to recognize it in
its true nature of external appearance.
Only then will you have matured the correct attitude to break the collective spell.
The definitive solution is therefore to return to the source of the collective
dream while realizing that in reality you are not going anywhere because the
source coincides with your true identity.
When you wake up from a dream night you do not really move from the
dreamed world to your bed, you simply have the impression of moving in
some strange place and then to return at ‘home’.
126

In a similar way, at the moment of the awakening from the collective dream you
will realize that there has never been a true spatial displacement and not even
a temporal shift.
You will find that you have never moved from reality, you have never turned
away from ‘home’.
In other words, you will realize that awakening is not an experience, because
experiences are just phenomena characterized by space–time slipping or
displacements. These slips take place while consciousness is enchanted and
chained in the matrix of its own impressions.
In light of that, the only sensible thing to do is to stop believing what you were
used to believing... stop believing in the ego, the world, the birth, the death.
For those who are immersed and hopelessly involved in the matrix, to stop
believing in those phenomena represents an unacceptable act, a heresy, a madness.
Needless to say, if it takes so little to dissuade them from awakening, they do not
at all want to awaken.
For the Consciousness on the path of Awakening this paradigm shift – to stop
believing in external appearances – represents the first step towards breaking all
the spells produced by the conditioned mind.
