Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and good day to all of you.
First and foremost, I must congratulate the participants of Intervarsity Corporate Strategy
Challenge 2019 for being among the selected few to be chosen to join this competition organized by
University of Malaya Accounting Club.
The main purpose of this project is to gather talents from various universities across Malaysia
and gives them an exposure on real life business situations. Participants are put through a series of
challenges that will test not only their critical and analytical thinking skills, but also their decision
making and interpersonal skills.
I can assure you the Intervarsity Corporate Strategy Challenge 2019 offers you as the
participant a valuable lesson in life to push your boundaries, to be the very best of you and believe in
yourself and other people as well. The activities laid out during the event will expose you to a lot of new
and exciting experience and I am confident all these exposure and knowledge sharing will be invaluable
to you in the future.
Please take the opportunity to gain fruitful insights especially from our industry leaders from
the corporate sector. With their experience and vast knowledge in the corporate world, I truly believe
it will be a great inspiration and motivation for you to be a leader someday.

First and foremost, I would like to warmly welcome all of you to the Intervarsity
Corporate Strategy Challenge (ICSC) 2019! It is my great pleasure to see all the youngsters
here are ready to gain new experiences and knowledge in a healthy rivalry.
Intervarsity Corporate Strategy Challenge (ICSC) 2019 is an event that can enhance
the network between the corporate world and university undergraduates, allow participants to
gain a variety of skills and prepare undergraduates for the corporate world. I believed that this
event can mould all of the undergraduates into successful entrepreneurs in the future and spot
out potential corporate leaders that can contribute ingenious ideas to the society at whole.
Learning is a lifelong process that never ended. Through Intervarsity Corporate
Strategy Challenge(ICSC) 2019, I believe participants will not only learn something new but
also learn how to work effectively on a team because every member in a team need to know their
roles to analyse situations that arise, diagnose the problem, and propose solutions that help
the collective team work more effectively towards reaching their goals. Besides, insights by
invited panels and speakers who are experts in specific fields of the corporate world can help
to develop undergraduates into a better thinker and knowledgeable person.
Furthermore, I would like to thank all of the professional bodies, corporate companies
and sponsors for their contributions’ that provide an opportunity for our undergraduates to
make this event a reality. Lastly, I would like to appreciate the efforts of organising committee
of Intervarsity Corporate Strategy Challenge (ICSC) 2019 that making the event successfully.

welcome to all the participants of ICSC 2019. Thank you for your participation in ICSC that makes
this memorable event a success.
ICSC 2019 proudly presents us with the theme “Nascence: Ingenuity, Innovate, Inspire”,
which aims to flourish future corporate leaders. Through the core elements of ICSC, we raise the
awareness of all young potentials to bring a great beginning and improvement for themselves, the
society and the nation.
Hereby, I would like to convey my greatest gratitude to our most respectful dean, Professor Dr.
Che Ruhana Isa; the Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Zakiah Binti Saleh; the Advisor of UMAC,
Dr. Khairul Saidah Abas Azmi; and every corporate sponsor of ICSC 2019. It’s our immense privilege
and honour to have your persistent guidance and generous support towards UMAC for Session
2018/2019. Once again, thank you.
In addition, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Organising Committee
team of ICSC 2019. Such a brilliant event would not happen without the ideas, energy and
commitments of everyone involved.
Lastly, I wish all the participants of ICSC 2019 to gain an enriching experience throughout

Intervarsity Corporate Strategy Challenge 2019 or more commonly known as ICSC is back
again this year with a brand-new theme, Nascence that focuses into 3I; Ingenuity, Innovate, Inspire.
As we are in the move towards the transformation of digital age and Industrial Revolution 4.0, we
believe that undergraduates should be competent, flexible and well equipped to meet the expectations
of the employers. In ICSC, we have tailored challenges to develop participants entrepreneurship,
financing, business pitching and networking skills in a corporate like environment to test their limits
in the business world.
First of foremost, on behalf of the ICSC 2019 team, I would like to bid my highest gratitude to
our Dean of Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya, Professor Dr. Che Ruhana Isa,
the Deputy Dean of Undergraduates, Associate Professor Dr. Zakiah Salleh and the Advisor of
University of Malaya Accounting Club (UMAC), Dr. Khairul Saidah Abas Azmi. We sincerely
appreciate the guidance and tremendous support given by you towards UMAC as well as in us
organising this event.
Moving on, this event would not be a success without the generous support provided by our
sponsors from the business and corporate companies. We deeply appreciate the willingness that you
have and we hope you continue to sponsor our events to help nourish and develop successful graduates.
We also thank you not only for the financial support, but also for showing us how to think differently
in designing the challenges for ICSC. We believe you will continue to support us in our future
endeavours.
I would like to also take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt appreciation towards the
Supervisors of ICSC 2019 as well as the UMAC Board of Directors for their implicit and countless
guidance provided throughout the preparation of this event. From weakness to strength, from grass to
grace and from nothing to something. We would not be here today without the knowledge you shared
and the assistance provided. Thank you for being a pillar of ICSC 2019.
Next, I would like to congratulate all 60 participants coming from different walks of life, course
of study and university for being shortlisted as the top 15 teams of the screening process. We are
indeed honoured to have you here as we believe that ICSC will provide a substantial exposure and
experience in your journey towards becoming successful in your profession. Thank you for your
participation and good luck for the challenges in ICSC 2019.
Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a process, working together is success. I
would like to take this opportunity to thank all my amazing organising committee for their hard work,
perseverance and dedication throughout the entire preparation of this event. The past 9 months was
challenging and I’m sure we’ve made enough memories to cherish hereafter. I believe that we have
certainly learnt a lot through this event to keep up with the expectations that we had when taking up
the mandate to be part of ICSC.
Finding opportunity is a matter of believing it’s there. Hence, let’s take this
opportunity and march towards the dream corporate journey we’ve been looking
for.
